I bought this router to replace my Netgear Nighthawk AC1900. This router is much faster and performs much better at peak performance when it counts. I have numerous devices connected to it ranging from phones to PC's to PS4's. I do like the 2nd 5Ghz band. The Galaxy Note 4 utilizes the 5Ghz2 band and doesn't lag.

Purchased this about a month ago and have been running it ever since. Set up was pretty straight forward and took maybe 10 - 15 minutes. Gives numerous options for security and parental controls. I have two desktops (upstairs and downstairs), an xbox, and several other devices connected to it throughout the day and generally at the same time; streaming video, playing video games, and simply surfing the net. No lag time or buffering on any device or computer. I have not tested the full range, but the desktop downstairs is wireless and I haven't experienced any lag or buffering issues. I have used various devices outside, but generally just outside the door. It is a bit expensive, but worth it in my simple opinion.

Horrible router. Im at my third one same problem 6 months later. If you have gigabit bandwidth you can forget that with this router. Most I get is close to 300mbps. I have tried everything that Netgear support has asked me to do. Researching online it seems that many people have the same issue with getting this router to give you the bandwidth your paying for. I have most services turned off. SMH!

I’ve bought 2 of these routers. One for my folks and another for myself after I saw how well it handled intensive traffic. We have a big family and when we gather, the internet is running all through the house. Love the separate channels for 5ghz or the standard 2.5ghz. Setup was easy and it’s strong enough to broadcast over the whole house; through walls, concrete, metal, you name it. We can game online, stream video, and have multiple devices connected without any issues. This is the router for the high speed family.

I had previously purchased an “equivalent” router from a different manufacturer, and after two months, out of frustration, I went shopping for a replacement. The Netgear X6 AC3200 was night and day different from the Linksys WRT3200ACM that I replaced. The fundamental issue with the WRT was that it consistently dropped internet connection when an android phone would connect to the network. I tried a lot of setting changes and found no resolution other than resetting the router several times a day. Now the X6 has been running for two weeks in the same network and hasn’t missed a beat. The router is in a utility closet and still has great signal quality everywhere in our home, and outside our home where it controls 5 outdoor smart light bulbs. I have roughly 30 devices connected to the network ranging from laptops and tablets to smart devices like Google Home and Smart light bulbs. The speed of the X6 has been fantastic and the setup of all of this was extremely easy. The Netgear app is also great. Very easy to access the network and see the traffic, or implement parental controls on a device. The 6 antennas of the X6 seem to give it an impressive range. I have no issues connecting from anywhere in a 2 story 3200 sq ft house. No need for an extender or mesh network. I highly recommend this router if you are looking for great range, great speed, connecting a lot of devices, and easy setup and app interface. The X6 has a great feature set at a reasonable price for what you get.

I recently changed office space and my provider upped the speed of my internet so I went looking for a fast, reliable and secure router. I wanted one that was easy to use but powerful. Range and speed when working with multiple devices was a must. The NIghthawk R8000 checked every box on the list. 1. Multiple Freq. bands to handle old and new devices. 2. Speed, no bottlenecks 3. Easy Set up 4. Security The R8000 set up was easy and the NetGenie software makes monitoring whose on the network easy as well. The multiple frequencies work well and allows allocation of resources multiple devices based on capability, Security also built in and setting are easy to adjust or change. The range is incredible reducing the need for range expanders. i placed one in my home as well and the range and device handling capabilities has allowed me to grow you home automation system and eliminate some bad spots. And it looks very cool so its an addition to the home office. I recommend this router for the serious user.

The router allows me to fully enjoy the 300 mbs speeds I get from my service provider. I can play video games online while my kids and wife streams their favorite shows on the Apple TV with no lag at all. Set up is a breeze and the app makes it easy to manage the system. The only bad thing about it is that it is expensive but I plan on having this product for a while.

I am genuinely impressed. We had an 802.11n access point, but the signal was pretty weak in the far bedroom of the house, to the point that the wifi would drop from my son's phone in his room. Elsewhere in the house, we were getting ~20Mbps downloads over WiFi from a 100Mbps internet connection. Connecting to the 5GHz AC network of this thing, we get 100Mbps everywhere except the far bedroom, and that gets 50-60Mbps. So, overall a HUGE improvement. The connection is just as fast as our hard-wired PCs. Installation was simple. It was up and running in 10 minutes. The only tricky part was using this just as an access point; I just had to connect via Ethernet and disable the DHCP. If you are going to replace your router with this, it would be even easier and quicker. This was a pretty expensive router, but I think it's worth it and should last quite a while.

Ease of setup and amazing performance makes this a highly recommended product for me. The special features such as filtering, file sharing, viewing of all access points, etc. make this router a wonderful addition to my home network. I now have full strength signal across all 3 channels in all rooms of my 6 bedroom, 3,200 square foot, 2 story home...and my entire yard. Great product, highly recommend!

Powerful, Fast Router For Connected Home

The number of connected devices in our home has mushroomed in the last few years. With two adult children in the house, we have game consoles, phones, tablets, streaming boxes, five computers, Blu-Ray players, a printer ... you get the picture. This router easily manages all that traffic, making better use of our bandwidth, and allowing our newest devices to connect at the fastest AC speeds. The difference is very noticeable. We're able to stream HD content to three devices simultaneously. Setup is easy and quick if you use the defaults. You can still dive deep into the settings if you prefer. It's expensive, no doubt. But if you're juggling multiple devices, can make use of the three bands and the guest modes, it may be worth the investment. It is for us.

My 5 year router was having disconnection issues and had limited range. Even the speed was an issue. Nighthawk X6 AC3200 is an excellent replacement. The set up was very easy. It is sitting in my bedroom upstairs. The two TVs, roku, xbone, media center 2 floors below are connected to it. I can stream netflix, you tube etc in hi-def without any lag. The app on android also allows to set up a guest account for fixed period of time. I've connected a USB drive to play my media anywhere in the room I like the fact that you can switch off the flashing lights on it. I'm giving it 1 less star because of high price. I bought it in November and at the end of November Amazon had it 30$ reduced. Best buy gladly accepted the price match.

First and foremost I'm a novice in the technology world. I was witnessing the slow down in the house with the internet and everything bogging down the wifi. Way too many products hogging 1 signal. I did my research of all the products before walking into Best Buy, this way feeling only halfway clueless. I told the associate I want something top of the line that won't be garbage in 5 years. Explaining also how many products in the home using the wifi signal. She showed me the Netgear Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band Router! It was a go! Set up was easy and I split everything in the house up among the 3 bands. No buffering problems, no slow laptop problems and everything is firing on all 8. Love It!!!

I would give this routers performance 5 stars. We use Ultra Speed internet and my wife works from home. Most of the time we have 3 cellphones, 2 xboxes, 5 smart tvs (2stream 24 hrs a day) movies etc and this router dominates. The pcs in house wifi connected run at appx 175mbs. Phones are well in the 800mbs. My xbox series x is plunged in HARDLINE and runs at 380mbs, 0 packet loss, and 10-23 ping always. I like the two 5gbands and 2.5's allow everyone to be seperated bands. HOWEVER, its easy to factory reboot ACCIDENTALLY just by touching or moving riuter around when cleaning etc. The push button on/off switch is touch and pressing on it for a mere split second resets it, causing to use app to redo, name, psswrd etc. JUST DON'T TOUCH IT. THIS ROUTERS A 2020 MODEL AND A BEAST!

My apartment isn’t large, but it is two stories, and this router is strong enough to reach all of the rooms. The three channels supposedly helps regulate internet bandwidth more efficiently, but I haven’t really noticed much of a difference compared with my old router. The internet speed being provided to me isn’t as fast as this thing will allow, so as internet speeds increase, this router will be able to keep up for several years to come.

Excellent router. I have around 20-30 devices connected to this on a regular basis and it does well with them. It has the 2.4G network that has speeds up to 600mbps for older/cheaper devices as well as two 5G networks that you can have the router automatically balance all your devices between the two to get the best speed. I have a google cast device in every room and this has no issues with them communicating between each other or when trying to cast to them. I had tried a TP-Link Deco mesh system and it was a mess with all my google cast devices, none of them could communicate with each other and my printer even had connection issues so I went back to the Nighthawk and have had zero issues since. It has a physical switch to turn all the led lights off except the power/status light which is nice. It has gigabit WAN and LAN ports which is a must nowadays. I desktop game wirelessly with this router and have zero issues with ping or speed (granted my desktop USB wifi card is AC1900 so I get 1.3gbps speeds with that). Range is excellent however I only have a 2000sqft house so it's not huge. Overall excellent router and I highly recommend.

It's been a few years since I last upgraded the wireless in the house and we've gone from having 2 or 3 connected devices to 19 at last count. Needless to say, it's been slow. Set up for the router couldn't have been much easier than it was. Speeds are back to where I'd expect them to be. Even on older wireless devices, the lag is gone.
