The Nighthawk X6 was very easy to setup with the easy to follow instructions. The Tri band makes it compatible with any device and the beaming capability gives great performance through our 2700 sq ft house both upstairs and down. The security is great and has Guest accounts. The speed is far better than my previous routers. The 2 usb ports, 1 is usb 3, are great for a network printer and backup drive.

The router was easy to set up. The Genie app came up immediately and guided installation and startup. The router is powerful enough for my phone to pick it up from some distance away from the house. The router can handle many of the wifi items we use - computers, ipads, phones, thermostats, and so on. Our old router could not handle the load as we kept adding new devices.

The setup was easy. Updating the firmware is simple. It's been reliable. It has two bands with guess networks in band. There are two 5ghz radios that can be combined into one high bandwidth network. This is a very good router.

I have no complaints with this router even with a few of the reviews I read prior to purchasing this router mentioned that certain plastic pieces seemed like they would break with the slightest movement. I have a number of products such as gaming consoles, smart TV's (one smart TV is older an doesn't have wireless integrated so it's hard-lined to the router which is all in my room and I can tell the difference between it being hard-lined to my ISP's router to this router), smart thermostat, lights, locks and door bell not forget tablets, laptops, PC's and mobile devices in my house. I haven't had a problem with any of my products that are all on the same network, speed is through my ISP which isn't bad and the Tri-Band keeps each product in a designated lane so I never have issues with a decrease in speed. The NETGEAR genie app is fantastic, as I can control settings & guest access, share & transfer media, and get analytics. My house isn't large so the range is great for the sq ft in my setting. A purchase I don't have buyer's remorse and like others stated it looks awesome!!!

Needed to upgrade my router as the signal was not getting to all rooms in my house. This router improved it but still had to set a replicator to get to the room farthest from where I set up the router.
It was very easy to setup.
The only negative is that it is a bit bulky. But overall I am very happy with it.

Compliments all around in our household now that everyone can enjoy the high speeds we are paying for. Easy setup, I prefer the Netgear interface over competitors. Not clunky or complicated. Wireless range is greater, only need 1 repeater when we needed 2 in the past. I've always gotten the service plan because routers routinely fizzle out for me and that has been a $$ saver.

So far, after a year, the router works as expected, but nothing more than that. Sometimes it freezes without any reason and you cannot access it, not even having a wired connection. Wirelessly you received good speeds and depending on your devices and your internet speed, you have a very good experience. I have almost 30 devices connected some of them connected at the same time without issues at home: 4K TVs (HDR streaming), YouTubeTV, Online gaming, videoconference, etc. I like the QoS, where you can define priorities by device (my Laptop has the highest priority) so you don't need to be worried if somebody is watching Netflix while you are having a videoconf with your boss.

This router is fast, reliable, and powerful all together. I could not be happier with my purchase. I'm using it with the Motorola surfboard SB6183 and I pull 122 Mbps download speeds on a 105 Mbps plan from Comcast. I easily maintain a fast and stable connection even with 17 devices online at the same time on my network. It's the best router I've ever owned.

I tried out the Netgear R7000 and was disappointed with the performance and the bugs in the firmware. The r8000 is worth the extra money the firmware is still young and needs a few tweaks yet like the QOS doesn't seem to work all that well yet. This thing has been rock stable and gets full signal in all parts of the house and shoots 1/2 mile down the road with good bandwidth.
I also need something that would keep up with the 20 devices on the WIFI with out choking.
Worth every penny but hate having to wait for things that should already work in the next update, but at least they are fixing the issues still worth the wait best router out there right now.

The router is as easy as it gets to set up. Plug and play basically!! A lot of range and power but I moved up to the x8 to get even better coverage due to the router having to be in a bedroom so the signal is going through a lot of walls to get downstairs. I hard wired the tv, dvd, Xbox and receiver so they fly.

Easy setup, able to keep up with 4 iPhones, 2 ipads, a PS4, PS3, desktop used for WebDesign, Smart TV and a couple Android Tablets for my kids. I'm Future proofed for many years with the grow Data consumption. 100 MB internet connection makes the router a perfect fit. No lag! Easy setup.

If it's money no object this is the choice for you. The speed and power of this router is like nothing I have seen before. Very happy with the outcome. I get up to 125MBPS out of the 5.2 channels and great range, far in excess of out Comcast router. Easy set up and configuration make this a great buy even for those technically challenged.

I got this Nighthawk because my cable company’s (Ritter Communications) wireless modem had terrible coverage and connectivity issues.
The NightHawk X6 not only covers every corner of the house, but my entire property. My home is on a Half acre lot and I get WiFi at every corner of my property.
I get the speeds I pay for, with the isp wireless device (Arris) my speeds dropped 20% or more once you left the room it was in.
With the NightHawk I get my 100 megs in the entire house and speed don’t start dropping until I get to the edge of the yard.
This router is pricey but you get what you pay for, get the X6 or better if you have a 2000 square-foot house or larger.

Best router we ever had

When we finally got a decent internet company, we needed our own router. We had an older Netgear Dual Band Wi Fi router we used and the tech set it up. While the service was a big improvement, I thought we could do better with a newer router. After checking with son, who suggested ASUS, and looking on the internet, which gave the Nighthawk the highest rating, we went to check them both out. Thee salesperson suggested the Nighthawk X6 AC3200 model after listening to our needs. Since we always preferred Netgear equipment, we went with it. Setup was a breeze. In less than 30 minutes, the Genie was loaded on all computers, tablets, and phones, and everything was up and running. The router even found all the Dish hoppers and my husband’s WD drive where he stores movies. More research and a MyCloud drive was attached, as well as the furnace and watering system. We have yet to experience any problems or connectivity issues. The next test was the workshop200 feet from the house, and again, the router passed with flying colors without an extender. Prior to that, we could barely get coverage on the back porch. I highly recommend this router – it’s everything it says it is.

This thing is simple to setup, easy to control on any device. I am running 3 xbox one consoles at once, while streaming video on 2 other computers and several phones all at the same time. No connection issues! The only negative about it is the price. Its crazy expensive! But...if you have the money to spend on it, it is worth it for sure. I have been running it for over a month now with no issues. I am sure there are better routers out there that are more expensive, but this one is worth the money...performance wise anyway. The tri-band is pretty cool. It has a feature that can link the 2 5ghz antennas and switch between them automatically to give you the best signal strength

I debated long and hard for this purchase as it is not cheap. My biggest issue was getting good strength on the opposite corner of my first floor with the router being on the second floor. My xbox one was having a hard time getting more than 2 bars on my 2TB Timecapsule. With this one I now have 4 bars and have not had any issues with my Xbox one. I also have about 5 apple devices constantly being used plus laptops and comcast X1 receivers. Now after 3 months it's holding up and I am loving it.
I will say it feels cheap as it is all plastic parts. I thought it was more solid from the pictures but it does feel weak. In any case if you have the $$ and want something good and reliable this will do the trick.

Dazzling Router

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
he Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 might be more expensive than the average router but, as a tri-band device that supports the 802.11ac standard, it's flexible enough to accommodate all your devices and their varying connection needs.
Getting the X6 AC3200 up and running is a "no-brainer" according to PC Mag, and TweakTown says that the "basic menu system for the X6 lays everything out in a simple manner," though Gizmodo Australia feels it might be "a little simplistic for the power users." Once you've got it set up, the X6 is ready to handle your various needs, with TweakTown calling it "a transition router, with legacy 2.4GHz devices having their very own band, and then having two separate 5GHz bands" to handle newer devices. But, though they say it allows you to use 802.11n "without bottlenecking the AC devices," CNET notes that you'll only really notice the advantage if "you have a lot of 802.11ac clients -- like a dozen of them or more."
In action, Gizmodo Australia says it "clocks great Wi-Fi transfer rates," with TweakTown saying the X6 AC3200 "performed quite well" at 2.4GHz and "pretty well" at 5GHz. CNET calls it "one of the fastest I've seen." However, CNET also had some problems with "random disconnections," and noted that at a distance of 100 feet, "it registered just 242Mbps, noticeably slower than 295Mbps of its predecessor." On the other hand, PC Mag actually noticed "increased signal strength" at 30 feet compared to 5 feet, "a rarity well worth noting," though it "lost range at 30 feet in 2.4GHz mode."
While it exhibits some inconsistent results across distances, you can count on the Nitehawk X6 AC3200 to connect to all your devices no matter their age, making it an ideal buy for users looking to make the leap to 802.11ac without leaving their older a/b/g/n devices behind.

This Nighthawk X6 router is easy to set up with passwords and security settings. Very good coverage but the farthest bedroom in my home never gets full bars. The problem could be the shear panels in the walls and the fact that the rooms location is above the garage. Other than that I get great performance out of the router.

The Night Hawk AC-3200 was easy to set-up. The distance is amazing. When I park in front of the house which is about 150ft. from the router my phone & tablet picks up the signal. The speed is off the hook. I can watch net-flex, surf the internet on my phone, tablet without buffering or loosing speed.
