Have 11 units connected to it via wifi and 2 units connected via ethernet. I have a mesh system with 26 units connected to and the system works like a dream. Distance is crazy good and I have no issues with streaming or downloading anything.

I bought this wireless router over a year ago, and have been mostly happy with it. It was easy to install. It has a nice administrative app. And it handles both wired and wireless devices in the house with great speed and ease. The only drawback that I have experienced is that if left to its own devices, about once per week, it will inexplicably lock up. But rebooting it solves the lock-up, and it's off to the races again. I have seen this phenomenon with several consumer-grade routers and just take it in stride that it needs to be occasionally rebooted. Taking this a step further, I plugged it into a digitally-timed power outlet that reboots it every night at about 3:30 AM when no one is likely to be using it. Now it works flawlessly throughout the day and evening hours when we use it most.

In my review of the new Netgear modem I purchased, I noted that I had moved into a much larger home that would need Wifi throughout for multiple devices. After doing some research, I decided to purchase the Nighthawk to help deal with any performance issues. Simply put: it's great. Physical setup is easy. Connect it to your router and plug in the power. From there, complete the installation online and download the app. One reason I invested in new Netgear equipment was to provide added security to my WiFi, including being able to monitor who was using it and when and being able to download security upgrades. The Nighthawk does all of this AND it lets me test performance of my setup. My teenage and I tested downloading speed (he plays a lot of video games), and the numbers were terrific. Even with him playing on a network and the WiFi being used for multiple phones laptops and TVs there's never any drop in performance. As an added bonus, you can add security to block unsafe Websites and malware. These routers aren't cheap, but they're well worth the money.

Tri-band is great

I upgraded to this router to get better speed out of my wifi, which this has done beyond my expectation. The tri-band is perfect for keeping gaming or streaming separate.
I had some personal issues with bad hardware that i was unaware of so at first i thought this was the issue but after figuring everything out it works to perfection for the most part.
I give this a 4 not for the product itself but the customer service or lack there of unless you pay a ridiculous amount per month for them. With their knowledge base i wouldnt recommend it either, even with the free 90-day customer service it would have been helpful for me to drown myself in a lake then listen to them for another second, dont count on them for anything.
Best buy are the real saviors here with their geek squad 2 year protection plan. I highly recommend that you get this with every major purchase!!

This is a powerful router that meets the needs of most households.
At any given time, I believe I have about 10-15 devices connected. It's great that I can prioritize which devices get the most priority. With a gigabit connection (Cox in Phx), this thing can surprisingly get you the bulk of that speed wirelessly.
At the tap (modem) level my connection will top out at around 940-950 mbps. Adding this router into the mix only drops a wireline test by about 50-100 mbps. Not as much loss as I expected so that's great!
Finally, my house is in the 2000-3000 SQFT range. It is two storeys. It fills the house, some corners lose a little bit of power at 5GHZ but it's stable. It penetrates out to my driveway and lets me play Pandora flawlessly. Very solid. Pricy. You get what you pay for!

Was having trouble with connectivity troubleshooting pointed to my router, bought this one and installed rather easily. Turns out it was my providers cable, but the new router has improved overall wifi performance in the home. I like the app too!

Internet service seems to be more reliable throughout the house since adding this router. The routers provided by Spectrum just don't cut it, but this one give us plenty of speed and reach to various parts of our home and outside. The parental controls and security features included are great, too! We still have issues where we have to restart the router and the printer connection is slower than before. Haven't been able to figure that one out yet. Overall, a good buy and I would recommend!

Ditch Fios Router and Maximize Your Internet Speed

I only get Verizon Fios internet, 1GBS speed to support my family of 5. Swapped out the Fios Wireless router for this amazing tech and had instant performance improvement. Easily 2x-3x range, no need for an extender now in my home. In addition, 5x-10x WiFi speeds delivered to my devices. I didn't realize how much the Fios router was holding me back. The app is also super easy and user friendly to help manage network access and monitor internet performance. This takes full advantage of the high speed Fios internet package. Also, this thing pays for itself once I return the Fios router and drop the rental fee.

I purchased my Netgear Nighthawk AC4000 a month ago to maximize my internet connection in my new apartment. Set up was a breeze through the nighthawk app, and configuration was self explanatory while still giving plenty of options for customization. The AC4000 comes default with one 2.4ghz and two 5ghz networks which has allowed me to take full advantage of my streaming devices over Wi-Fi will leaving room for my smart lights to be on their separate channel. All in all I am super pleased with this router and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to ditch their current router!

Our old router just couldn't keep up with the upgrade to our wifi service. not sure about anyone else reading this, but the land of routers is bewildering and unless you are fluent in a language I am not, then you don't know where to start.
A few folks recommended this specific router, and it does everything we need it to do, and if I understood it and its other capabilities, I am sure a lot more besides.
But - for those IT challenged folks struggling to know where to start - its easy to install, easy to start, and just seems to happily get on with its life and not cause me issues. It deals with crazy fast internet speeds (need for my work) and has a great range in the home.

The best hardware in the world is rendered mediocre when its operating software fails to deliver. This device is a powerhouse. Connections are seamless and fast. The Smart connect feature makes everything easy. But the Genie app is downright dangerous. It bricked the router and I had to do a factory reset. Just read the terrible reviews on Google Play. The Nighthawk app seems to work so far. But that should tell you something when the manufacturer has two similar apps for the same device. Prepare for some headaches.

Much better than spektrum wifi

Purchased to get additional range as spektrum wifi router couldn't cover whole house. Considered mesh wifi but those tend to cost more and only claim 1.2mbps speeds where this claims much faster speeds and still provides the additional range I need. Tested in the far corners of my yard and signal is still strong so no mesh wifi needed.
Added benefit is the parental controls. Now that kids are getting to the age where they might wander to inappropriate corners of the internet, it's nice to know we have some protection in place.
The only problem I've found is that it only lists 12 devices even though there are more than that connected. Googled and it seems to be a known issue.

Setup was kind of annoying. I ended up having to use a Mac instead of my PC in order to do it. Once that was out of the way though, it works great and has an amazing range. I can be on the other side of the house and still have excellent signal strength. It is a somewhat large piece of equipment so finding it a place to sit on an already cramped desk was a bit of a challenge. Although I ended up having to prop it up vertically because the heat it produces attracts cats and this thing was way too expensive to have them sitting on it. Overall, it was worth the money so I'd definitely recommend it.

I have tried for several years to obtain good wireless coverage to all areas of my home. On the far end of the house I was only getting 20-50 mbps. The equipment that the cable company supplies is not high quality. I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk X6S router and I was able to greatly increase my speed but still wanted better coverage. I later purchased the Netgear Nighthawk X6S Mess Extender and my speed increased 3-4 times. Prior to the extender I was getting speeds to the far end of the house of 100-150mbps. After I installed the Nighthawk X6S my speed increased to 300-400 mbps. Finally able to achieve the full benefit of my wifi. I have a building approx 125 feet from my house and I am able to get wifi coverage to it with this router and extender.

This really took my downloads and peer to peer to a new level! I am a Spectrum user. Their "all-in-one" is just incapable at being that. The only reason I am still keeping the Spectrum provided device is that I also use it for phone...otherwise I would buy a different modem.
Having said that, this device changed the game. Not only can I get incredible speeds between devices, every device in my house gets FAST internet access. I have a single story with a FROG that has a firewall and never got WIFI. Now I get WIFI all over my 1/3 acre property. Great device!

This router is by far the best we have used for my son to game in his room upstairs from the main Wifi signal. As promised the speed it has to be able to have no lag time while gaming or streaming 4K video upstairs is amazing. Well worth the $$ in my opinion. The Best Buy team member suggested it after I explained what I was trying to achieve. He steered me away from "boosters" as I thought that was what was needed, but he said those were for dead spots, not low signal. This router strengthened our signal significantly.
