Great router, paired it with the net gear nighthawk 32x8 docsis 3.1 modem! This router has great coverage for a 1 story home. We are in a .3 acre lot and all points receive great wifi. When plugged directly to a console/tv, my speed reaches close to 1GB. (Internet provider provides us with 1GB internet).

First unit I purchased wasn't broadcasting WiFi so I returned it. Second one worked like charm. Tried to set up using the smart connect feature to let the router do the work determining which radio signals your devices want (using a single SSID), but that was not optimal in my situation. I disabled the "smart connect" feature and am now broadcasting one 2.4GHz network (changed the channel to one my neighbors weren't on) and two 5Ghz networks. I can setup my wireless devices (lot of wireless HD security cams and various smart home devices) to connect to the network of my choosing. Great admin features via the web interface and very cool monitoring features using nighthawk mobile app. Turn on the remote management feature to connect to the router when you're away from home.
Range is great, my outdoor wireless security cameras connect without an issue. I do have an extender (Netgear AC1900) to reach devices in the basement. First & second floors my 1500 sq ft home (inside the home, and outside approx 30ft outside) get full wireless signal on 2.4GHz & 5Ghz. 5GHz obviously does not reach as far, but does make it outside.
Watch the pricing, I found that over a week long period of researching a trying different routers, the price on this router fluctuated between $299 - $219. Best Buy ended up having the best pricing.

I was skeptical at first about splitting all 3 bands into different SSIDs (it can unify them all as well) but that turned out to be exactly what my network needed! 1 band for cameras and smart home products, 1 for mobile devices, and 1 for high priority items (TV, PS4, Work, etc)
Easy setup and monitoring, this is a fantastic router and is working wonderfully so far!

Brought it home. Plugged it in. Set it ALL up with my iPhone. Adding other Apple products is couldn't be any easier. I just send the password from my phone. Adding Windows laptops was also very easy.
SUPER FAST!! Have yet to have any lag. The only thing slowing me down is my Internet provider,

Have had NetGear routers for years. They always work perfect every time. Picked up this one and it worked perfect right out of the box just the same. Easy set up and runs multiple devices same time with no lag at all. No wi-fi extenders needed. Has great range plus it blends into the room with the other audio gear and T.V.

I purchased this product based on the review of another customer in the store. We have 3 stories in our home and we are now able to receive WIFI in every location. This product now allows 7 students to zoom and google team all day without issues. The set up took more time than I expected. Most likely user error though.

This thing is a beast! I researched routers at the time that could handle all my devices without dropping speeds. Up came this. I did my due diligence and then went to the store. Got it home and set it up. Easy to do btw. Since, I have enjoyed strong performance for all my needs. Gaming on this has been a breeze.

The time was right for upgrade from my previous Netgear unit. So far this Nighthawk has performed excellent with no issues and was a breeze to set up. I can access the unit form almost anywhere and verify functions. I comes with security software as a trial and option to buy. So far it's handling everything just fine.

Returned for Eero Pro Mesh WiFi (3-pack)

I owned this router for about a month with a new netgear docsis3.0 modem to match. I have various smart devices throughout my home (20+ hue bulbs, 13 Sonos Speakers, etc) and so I thought this router would provide the coverage and traffic management to ensure everything worked when it was needed. Though this might be possible, I tried pretty much every possible option and ended up with constant delays and lag in signal response. Though it looked cool and boasted great options, it’s overall execution was lacking on all levels and provided inconsistent coverage in a 2 bed apartment in a triplex. Also, save yourself the time and just search google for Nighthawk issues, you’ll find more blog posts than positive ratings listed for these devices. Mesh WiFi might provide more limited setup options, but in my opinion, Eero has out done themselves and the app is incredible. The app for the nighthawk however, was unable to connect over WiFi and often took a minute on my iPhone XS to connect. Overall, none of the fancy options this router offers are worth the hassle they provide (MuMimu, Air Traffic, QoS), app of it was garbage and gave more direct interference than anything. Take into account I’m a 20-something educated and tech-savvy guy and this router just would not cooperate. Eero or bust folks. Orbi, if that’s your thing, but Eero is absolutely amazing and build for quick setup and active management. As well, Eero has waaay better child and content management settings for scheduling, turning on and off device connections and allows cloud access automatically so you can manage your WiFi when you aren’t home. It’ll cost you the same or more for Eero, but you’ll save yourself the hassle by getting a system built to do any job you need.

This has saved me from a lot of headache. This Netgear Nighthawk router looks sleek yet stealthy. It has a very strong connection and is very fast. The set up was easy and quick with the Netgear app, which the app has a lot of features and customizations. Definitely recommend!!

Bought this with the expectation it would greatly improve my speeds. Set up was easy. Avoid selecting the smart connect. After not seeing the speeds I wanted, I called customer service and through some trouble shooting (factory reset), I'm getting the speeds that I am paying for.

I purchased this router when we "cut the chord" and went to a streaming tv service. Our old router didn't have enough horsepower. Although a little pricey, this router has worked great for us. It can easily handle tv, two laptops and both both my wife's and my phones. It also provides great range.

Upgraded to this from the Ac3200. Setup straightforward. Works well. Coverage is good. I also purchased a mesh repeater with this as well. Only issue I seem to be having is on phone calls with WiFi assist. There is a pause when the wifi switches between router and mesh router

My Nighthawk was having problems and I decided on a new one. Out of everything on Best Buy’s shelf, this one had the best performance. It was fast to setup and easier to do so than previous offerings. I have not had one single issue and I’ve been running it for over a month now. It can handle your WiFi needs without any hiccups.

This router is perfect if you have a big family with multiple devices. We have 6 phones, 2 iPads, 2 computers, a laptop, and 4 smart TVs, and we can use all of them with no lag. And the range is great, it reaches to all areas of the house and to the backyard as well.

I love it! I was new to routers, and after some limited research, I came upon this model. I first bought it used (a lower model) on eBay and it worked great for a little over a year. That being said, it was a year, and I got a great deal on it. Still kept it in case it was a simple tech fix. Because I needed a router asap, I bought this one, being a step up from what I had. It does everything I need-my two boys are on their phones/laptops/desktops/gaming units 24/7, we stream tv in three rooms all the time, and my husband and I run our e-commerce business from home and have no issues. Would definitely recommend it! We have fiber internet (in case that is relevant), and with three computers, three TVs, three phones running all the time, my download speed on my laptop on wifi is averaging about 44mbps. (If that’s helpful) :-)

I have had the router for a few days. I was forced to purchase another router after my Nighthawk R7000 began to reboot on a nightly basis. (18 month old router) Troubleshooting seemed to suggest the R7000 was the culprit. Have 32 connected devices. The R7000 with banding should be able to handle 60 devices. I hesitated to get another netgear after that experience.
The R8000p has been solid. It is handling 32 connected devices without a hiccup. Coverage is good with NO dropped internet connections within my 3100 sqft house. The router is actually on one end of my residence (not ideal) covering the entire house without a problem. The antennas are odd to me....but seem to be working. They also seem fragile.
Holding the router in my hands I felt like it was blah...Maybe it was a reaction to how cheap the antennas felt as I unfolded them from the body of the router. For 230 bucks I think I was expecting something more robust. I am giving it 5 stars because despite the feel the router is working flawlessly and covering the entire house from a less then ideal location.
