Orbi for 5,000 square foot home

We were having weekly issues with our Google Nest, which was only a year old. We work from home and needed a reliable router that covered the main floor and basement of a 5,000 square foot rambler. Orbi Whole Home is awesome. Download speed directly to router is 750. Wireless download speed is 386. Game changer. Only downside is the system is very pricey.

This Mesh system is easy to setup, handles lots of devices and provides reliable/fast Wi-Fi service. If you have a smart home or many users this is great choice. Also nice that you can manage remotely.

The NETGEAR Orbi Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System has been a game-changer. It replaced our Google Wifi mesh router, and the difference is astounding. Our entire home now enjoys lightning-fast, uninterrupted connectivity. Setup was a breeze, and the performance is top-notch. Streaming, gaming, and browsing have never been smoother. Highly recommended!

My previous router decided to stop connecting and so I decided to upgrade to a mesh system. It has been a great decision with the signal strength remaining strong throughout my home and even outside on the pool deck. While a little more than pricey, this Orbi AX6000 WiFi Mesh system definitely positions me for the future.

    Generally not needed

Huge waste of money for most people. What average person needs this for their SOHO network. If you can show me that you have signal dead spots in your home or building then fine. But other than that I do not see a need for them for the average Joe. Even in a situation where you have a dead spot you could more than likely place a single router/ap in a better position, most new homes have some hard lines wired through them that you could add a smart switch to. This product is generally overkill and most people would not utilize its abilities.

Quick to set up, already pre-set with your own settings , unboxing for the base and connected to the satellite. Fastest speeds of all three models I tested for a four level home with gigabit and easily the best for ports. Love it! Covers 3300 sq ft easily. It is spendy but worth future proofing if you can.

I upgraded from Google Nest WiFi. The reliability, speed, coverage and security is far superior. Covered a large home with 1 router and 2 satellites versus 4 satellites and it is equal to wired speed. Google was only 25%. Highly recommended!!

I have a big house area and yard and the 2 extra satellites allow me to receive WiFi even to my detached garage. I have this system at three different properties and it always works great.

UGHH! The price to have a better internet connection. Hopefully this purchase will last 5 or more years. Replaced a Netgear Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Model R8500 with this Netgear Orbi Mesh setup. The old Nighthawk was 5.5 years old and was starting to show signs of tiredness. Anyways, the app setup which is supposedly automated and the easiest route...I tried it twice without success. The first time it made it almost all the way through, but failed on the "Update Firmware" step. This somehow caused the Orbi to get confused and I had to do a factory reset and attempt it a second time. The second time I didn't even make it to the firmware update step. It was almost like it just got hung. I followed the steps to the letter so I am still confused as to why it didn't go all the way. I read a lot of reviews where others complained about different buggie issues with different aspects of the hardware/software. I was finally able to set things up the manual way by hooking into the router's web console. I have immediately seen a much better wifi signal/connection to all devices and streaming TV via Hulu/Firestick. Have only owned for about 24 hours at this point so it is an early review. Giving it two weeks to see if things remain stable and if not, take this $1000 system back. OH! THE HORROR!

Using in 12000 sq ft metal building. Works great. Have 35-45 items on wifi and any given time and no issues at all. Much faster then our old mesh system.

Awesome system serving 25,000+ SF building.

After failure with another highly rated mesh system, I returned that inadequate system to the local Best Buy and purchased the Netgear Orbi Mesh WiFi 6 System. With the help of fantastic Netgear tech help, my new system, with one router and three satellites, is up and running and blasting fast Wi-Fi speeds throughout my large horse barn and indoor arena building. I'm getting Wi-Fi download speeds of over 700 Mbps and uploads of 100 Mbps within a large steel and wood building. I have 1 Gbps fiber internet service from Empire Access, located here in upstate NY. My satellites are connected via ethernet cables, because of the complications of the structural components of my building. I couldn't be more pleased with the equipment, the tech help, the Orbi App that I use on my iPhone, and the additional services that are available with this Orbi System.

    Excellent mesh system

I was looking to upgrade from my Google WiFi mesh system to something that supported WiFi 6 which provided both excellent coverage and fast speeds. Since I have >1Gbps speed from my ISP, I wanted to leverage WiFi on more devices since the wireless connection would then be faster than the gigabit Ethernet ports on many wired devices. I found that this model hit the mark. I’ve almost doubled devices running in the network and I’ve seen faster throughout and no network congestion. I highly recommend this specific model as it gives you a strong backhaul to handle all of your streaming and gaming devises simultaneously.

I never knew how much my router was limiting my bandwidth! I have fiber optic internet and has been using a nighthawk router for this past year. I thought that 250 megabyte speed and the 50% signal in the master bedroom at the other end of the house was the best I could expect. Now with the Orbi tri-mesh system I get 970 megabyte per second upload and downloads, and my signal strength is 100% through the whole house - especially the master bedroom because of the dedicated satellite unit. I would recommend this system to anyone that has internet faster than the 250 megs.

Once you go orbi you will never go back. The stability and speeds you get if you have a wifi 6 device are great. I get cover all over the house and outside my house with this setup. Very pleased with it.

RBK852 Is a great upgrade over the RBK53

I purchased the WiFi6 RBK852 Mesh system to upgrade my RBK53 system. I am very pleased with the upgrade. Installation was simple and the RBK852 works much better with the Orbi App on the iPhone. There is only one satellite with the RBK852 vs. two with the RBK53, and both the upload and download speeds are better with the RBK852 (and the coverage is just as good if not better).
