The best wireless router I ever owned. I have a 3100 sf house and the signal is very strong both upstairs and downstairs. If you are looking for the very best router on the market this is the one for you. Also, it is very easy to set up. Ready to go right out the box.

I wanted to add a mesh network to my home. I have 1 gig cable internet coming into my home. However, the routers and the wifi network never let me get close to that speed. I purchased the NETGEAR - Orbi AX6000 Tri-band Mesh WiFi 6 System and had the new network up and running in about 10 minutes after downloading the app for my iPhone. I didnt even have to disconnect the current apple extreme router network in place. I just add the new router and placed the satellite and had signal throughout the house. Standing 5 feet from the router I was getting 700-750 mbs on my iPhone. Going upstairs to the farthest corner of the house through multiple closed doors I still was getting 300-400 mbs. I placed the satellite in my home office so it is close enough that I can use an Ethernet Cable to my laptop docking station (Dell XPS13 2019). Using WiFi at my desk from satellite I was getting 600-700 mbps, using Cat7 Ethernet cable directly from satellite 875 mbps. Very happy with purchase.

Having used Netgear products most of my life this product was no different. Coming from a eero which I liked alot because it was small and discrete especially if you had the beacons, worked well. My issue was the performance and its slow throughput especially if your running a 1GB connection feed coming into the house the Eero only supports max 550. I cannot wait any longer and I got this and what a huge difference it makes. The two really arent in the same league. The throughput is so fast its insane. Wi-Fi 6 router this is the gold standard and the one to beat. Its pricey but the performance of the Orbi is like butter so you will soon forget about the money invested..

I have had the Orbi up and running for about four weeks. Absolutely loving it.
System is connected to a 1G Fios network. I have the ONT plugged directly into the base Orbi (basement) and the satellite on the second floor. Super fast!

Upgrade from Netgear NIGHTHAWK® TRI-BAND AX12 12-STREAM WIFI 6 ROUTER - AX11000 needed an extender so I swapped it with Orbi new set up and it was a super easy install. I have Comcast blast internet and I get 50mbps over advertised speeds great WiFi coverage worth every penny..!!!

This is a fantastic router if you have multiple streams of video or gaming going at the same time. It’s definitely an improvement for our home where we used the Orbi system for the past 3 years. Using One Router and two satellites we were able to simplify our setup to using only one satellite along with the router. It’s now possible to game with our two Xbox’s wirelessly now with Wi-Fi. It’s a great system if you have the need for it.
I believe this will future proof any home or business for the next several years.
Love it!!!

Horrible WiFi mesh router. The satellite keeps flashing white and we have had nothing but problems, the tech support is non-existent. Wish we never made the switch to the Orbi setup - huge waste of money and no longer returnable.

Absolute garbage for the price point. I replaced a Linksys MX5300 mesh network with this because of lightning damage.
I have a smart home with 60-70 devices connected via WiFi at any given time. After a terrible installation procedure with defined wait periods of several minutes (waiting for Satellite to come online, etc.) that took a hand full of tries before it would finish without crashing, I was able to create my network. After a few minutes, the WiFi network would disappear and I would have to factory reset the system and start the on boarding process again.
After troubleshooting, it turns out that the DHCP service on the Orbi system was crashing. The logs show that after 20-25 simultaneous DHCP requests, the service would become unresponsive. I corrected this problem by running a separate DHCP server on a hole server but that is unacceptable at this price point.
The system doesn't support simultaneous WPA2/WPA3; again, unacceptable at this price point.
This system has a dumbed down app that allows you to change the network name and password, view connected devices, and subscribe to some network security option offered by Netgear. If you need to do anything other than that, you will have to use a web browser to login to the system.
Overall connectivity was decent and although providing the same wireless-AX coverage as my Linksys 4-node system with two nodes, I am not impressed. While wireless-AX devices are provided good connections speeds (see iPhone 12 screenshot), older wireless-AC devices struggle with upload speed. (See AppleTV 4K screenshot.)
While the Orbi router/satellite units can easily be connected together via Ethernet backhaul, the resulting empty 5GHz channel cannot be used for client connectivity. The Linksys system, on the other hand, will add the unused channel for client connectivity, thus reducing channel congestion. Speaking of wireless channels, the Orbi router also supports a maximum channel band of 80MHz. 160MHz is not an option.
I will be returning the system and purchasing a professional-grade AX access point system. If you are an IT professional, a power user, or you simply have a large network, steer clear of this system.

Upgraded to this from an older router and the difference is huge. Setup was quick using the app, and coverage is amazing — no more dead zones in the house. Speeds are fast and stable, even with multiple devices streaming and gaming.
It’s pricey, but worth it if you want strong Wi-Fi across a big space. Only downside is the size of the units — they’re a bit bulky + the chord is fairly large for an outlet; USE A SURGE PROTECTOR.
Overall, great performance and super reliable. If you’ve got a lot of devices or a large home, this system delivers.

If you are in a situation where you cannot run wiring and are in a medium/larger home that is filled with lots of walls, this is the absolute best non-commercial system you can buy.
Pros:
-SUPER fast speeds. On a Fiber 1000/1000 connection and was able to get up to 850Mbps at the base router, about 600Mbps on the mesh points, all tested using an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve used/tested many brands and this one is cannot be beat outside of buying a much more expensive commercial grade system.
-5Ghz dedicated backhaul ensures amazing connection between mesh points and router. Most other systems do NOT have a dedicated backhaul, meaning the mesh points connect using the same channel and frequency as Wi-Fi-devices, meaning this can create slow downs in many situations.
-This system penetrates walls better than other systems, but do not expect night and day difference either.
-Simple controls and interface
-Aesthetically pleasing router and mesh points that can usually blend in most places visually
-2.5G WAN port will help support faster speeds when available
-House is hurricane proof with lots of concrete and and metal studded walls. This system seems to better penetrate walls vs other systems.
-Simple setup. Bridge mode or router mode offer the same performance.
Cons:
-Price is hard to justify for most. I did it because my house was extremely tough to connect throughout, but it was a fraction of what it would cost to wire the house with Ethernet.
-The moment you try to start doing advanced stuff, such as VLAN, IPv6, or parental controls, it becomes extremely buggy. So keep it simple with this system
-Hate the cash grab they do from the subscriptions they want you to pay for extra parental controls or internet security. It’s pretty insulting for a system of this price.
-VPN Access requires some extra work
-While the general interface is good, the app needs further work.

Hey guys this is my review for the Orbi Whole Home Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System, I did receive this product from NETGEAR First Look Review Program but that doesn’t mean I’m going to be nice on all key notes of this review.
• Setup
The setup for these new Orbi Mesh routers was easy as cake, I owned the very first units that NETGEAR release a long time ago and they we’re great products as well but had a few issues that you would notice after a few years of using them but anyways back on topic!
The setup like I said easy very easy just plug them in and either use the Orbi app that you can find for Android or IOS and follow the steps that they walk you though or load up the website that is required to setup your product.
• Features
The best feature that I really enjoy is the new Wi-Fi 6 and the 2.5G Ethernet port or link aggregation on the main unit. I recently upgraded my internet to 700+ with comcast and can reach those speeds very fast with this router and without any noticeable buffering time.
Whole home mesh Wi-Fi System is another great feature being able to have your whole house covered without a dead spot within your home and being able to go outside in my very large yard with connection still right outside.
• Performance
The performance of this unit is great and being able to download at very high speeds with my internet connection is awesome! The units don’t bog down and have stayed up for quite some time. They always get better with system updates from NETGEAR.
• Did the product meet my expectations?
Dang right they did! I’ve used nothing but NETGEAR products since the beginning pretty much and I’m just in awe every single time NETGEAR comes out with these great products every year! The units are bigger than the previous units that I had but they look beautiful on my desk.
• Price-value
Now I don’t agree on the $699 price tag that they’re selling these units for and would expect the price of them to go down within the next year or so but if you’re in the market for a whole home mesh network then don’t look away because you cant go wrong here with future proofing yourself.
• Would I recommend this product to a family or friend member?
Yes! I would recommend anyone that I know of who has a big enough pocketbook to invest into these units! They work wonderfully

The future of WiFi

Let’s start by saying this router is phenomenal. It has worked perfectly for me with zero issues. My household is a WiFi hungry home with 60-70 devices connected at a given time, and the Orbi has had ZERO issues.
Setup was super simple. In my instance I followed the recommended modem for this specific system, Netgear CM-1200, I know it’s an added expense but I wanted to get the most out of my Orbi. If you decide to get the modem I recommend you install the modem and have it running with your isp before installing the Orbi. Once your modem is ready plug in both mesh routers before starting the installation. Make sure to update the firmware to the latest release because this release is extremely stable. Super easy to setup.
Performance on this mesh system is unreal. My house is around 3000 square feet and every inch of my house is covered. Like I mentioned I have over 60-70 devices connected at a time, from security cameras, iPhones, iPads to Apple TV’s streaming 4K content, all running without any problems. We have 1 gigabit internet at my house and the system powers through with a constant connection close to 980Mbps. So this is where some people get confused, wifi 6 speeds are only capable on a handful of devices, iPhone 11 Pro Max for instance, so unless if you have a capable device you will not get speeds close to a gig. But what this router does for devices that are not WiFi 6 capable is improve the connection which will give fewer drops. WiFi 6 improves coverage and signal strength.
I know people like to get as much information about a device before buying so I gave an ho eat assessment of this device. If you have WiFi 6 devices or want better performance, not expecting significant speed improvements for WiFi 5 devices then I highly recommend this mesh system.

Nice set of a mesh router and 2 satellites. Easy to setup and decent speeds. Wish the app was a bit more friendly and had more features like ASUS but it’s functional. You’ll have to do WPS manually from the router or satellite which is very inconvenient. A bit pricey but stable and reliable.
