Orbi AX6000
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not so good. Exactly the same with my google wifi. Speed is slow. All my camera takes time to connect. No light, you can not tell if the router is on and working. Poor design.

like going from a moped to a Lamborghini
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My service provider is Comcast for cable tv, internet up to 300mbps wifi5, phone. My prior setup was a combination router-modem. Sometimes I called it the router. Sometimes I called it a modem. I didn’t really know the difference between the two. My download speeds were between 125 and 160mbps. This device provided a wifi network, and three ethernet cables were attached to it, providing internet to three outlets around our home. For maintaining these services, I needed to buy two devices. This review is for both devices. skip to the bottom, if you don't want to read about the modem. For easier reading, I’m calling the Netgear Nighthawk CM1150V the “modem”. And I’m calling the Netgear Orbi AX6000 Wifi6 with 2 satellites the “router”. The modem translates the signal so it can be used inside your home. The router breaks up the signal and sends it out to different places. The modem installation was first. I tried setup with a tablet, Chromebook, laptop. These were unsuccessful. It only worked with our desktop computer. Plan to have a desktop within reach of where you plan to leave this modem. I appreciate that the needed ethernet cable was enclosed with this modem. If you don’t own a desktop or h ave trouble, you will need to call Comcast for install support. I wish it came with a battery backup, because the only reason why I have this phone line is for emergencies. My cell service at home is very poor, and I want to be able to report power outages on my land line. Make sure you use phone port 1. The second port is for a second phone line, not a second handset. I successfully installed this modem. Next, I tried to hook up our three ethernet lines before installing our mesh wifi router. Even though there are three ethernet ports on the modem, this does not work. I had two choices. Choice 1: Plug my ethernet lines into the ports on my router components. Or choice 2: Buy and install a separate router for the ethernet lines, hook that up to the modem. I chose #1. Installing the router was not easy. I followed the directions, and then the internet could pull up Google search results but it would not open any websites. This was across all devices. I revisited www.comcast.com/activate and looked around. There, I updated firmware for my router base and each satellite. I went to Comcast’s online help, and did a troubleshoot. It ran a scan on my system, corrected what was wrong, rebooted my system, and everything then worked great. My wifi base unit is located inside our open back tv cabinet. It reaches the two satellites easily. The results: Downloads of 300mbps. We walked down the block, and we could still stream movies on the other end of our street. We can enjoy fast wifi all over our house and yard. Our DVR guide is more clear and responsive. We took the time to set up a strong password because our signal is stronger than a college radio station. I highly recommend both of these devices. My home is about 4,000 square feet, with a very large detached garage. I recommend installing this system, over a weaker system with a separate outdoor router. My desktop computer that needed ethernet works great and directly plugs into my router. I’m glad I did not get the router package with three satellites; it was not needed for our two story, no basement home.

Good System Could Use More Configuration Ability
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good overall performance, not the coverage that is advertised. Had to add an additional satellite to fully encompass the house and surrounding area. Easy to setup and speeds are good. Getting full 1 Gb speeds to the router and acceptable WiFi speeds. Not fully configurable and don’t like the subscription for added firewall protection, but all in all pretty solid system.

Stellar performance with rock solid reliability.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup: Setup was a breeze and so easy via downloading the Orbi app. The whole process took me about 15-20 minutes and the firmware has to be updated but it was super easy via my Android phone. Features: I really like the sleek look of the new Orbis with some brushed metal looking trim. The 2 pack was more than enough to cover my entire upstairs and downstairs. I really love the tri-band mesh leveraging the single SSID for my entire house. Having WiFi 6 also ensures that you are future proofing yourself as standards change, Performance: I thought my previous Orbis were fast but this feels significantly faster streaming Netflix and Youtube videos are launched instantly. The range is well beyond my expectations as I have a node in my garage and I swear it reaches 3-4 houses down my street. I also transferred some larger video files to my NAS connected to the Orbi and the data transfer feeds were at least 35% faster than my previous model. Although the pricing is on the higher end of the scale, it is definitely worth it. It has been rock solid for me and the speeds I am seeing thus far has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for uncompromising performance while future proofing their router purchase.

Amazing, signal breaks through brick!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing! Very easy to set up! The app is user friendly. I like that you can create a guest WIFI and set up limits to content and parental controls. This was for a huge awkwardly shaped building that was built in 1902 and have a ton of brick, it worked fantastic and we have amazing signal and service. Our building is three stories and we placed one on each level. I love that we can also hard wire a computer into the router as well. Sleek and doesn't take up a ton of space.

Great coverage and speed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using base unit plus two satellites for 7000 sq ft on 3 floors. Set up was easy with Orbi app, about 20 minutes. Great coverage and signal strength, no dead spots. Excellent speed. Pricey, but definitely superior to previous Orbi AC 3000 system.

Excellent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an old Linksys mesh system since 1 of my 3 nodes died. This 3pc Orbi Netgear mesh system absolutely rocks. Used to average around 300Mbps down & 20Mbps up, but now it's more than 1100Mbps down & over 40 Mbps up. That's with all our phones, Xbox, printers, security system, computers, Ring system, and security cameras tied in! Setup was a breeze and simply followed the instructions on the Orbi app. Not cheap, but quality rarely is.

Orbi router
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well for about 7 months, this was my second Orbi system. I purchased it because of the mesh security, speeds, and coverage. But as I said it ended up giving me issues for unknown reasons.. Recently upgraded to the Tp 16000 which has capabilities Wifi7 unlike this router. It was very easy to setup and the coverage was pretty superb.

High price for top performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very popular mesh home networking has a lot to offer. For performance and future proof with Wi-Fi 6 the speed and coverage area are top notch. Price might be a factor in a decision against other systems on the market, but with most performance tests it comes on the top of many lists. Easy set up with mobile app as well as more advanced web set up makes it recommended list, as long as you can afford it.

Wow!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far Orbi has been great! My old router was several years old and could no longer handle all of the devices throughout the house and it didn’t broadcast a signal strong enough to cover all areas of the house. In addition, my house is unique, it has a brick wall running through the middle of it. That definitely blocks WiFi signal. That’s where Orbi has been so incredible. I am fortunate enough to be able to hardwire both of the satellites and finally, there are no dead spots! Another thing I like is that Orbi doesn’t just go out like my old router did. Orbi was super easy to set up with the app. Once that is done, it is super easy to finally be able to see all of the devices on my home network and be able to turn off their access if I ever need to. I have 600 mbps with my ISP and I am routinely getting speeds above that throughout my house. So far, my Orbi AX6000 has been incredible!

Easy to setup and configure - great wifi coverage
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced a Netgear Nighthawk X10 AD 7200 router (which was doing a pretty good job), but I had a few dead zones within the house. I connected the satellites via backhaul (ethernet cables from the router to satellites), and speeds are consistent and fast throughout my home & yard now. The configuration was simple, as it was really similar to my previous router - the connected devices screens were easier to use, as it identified the devices (the previous router did not) by name. Although it is high priced, it it top of the line. Worth the investment. I have over 40 devices connected - and never any issues with buffering.

Mind-blowing performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this for just over a week and I couldn't be happier with the speeds I am getting with this 2 node setup! Except my new iPhone, no other devices have Wifi 6 but I am consistently getting great speeds on all devices. This thing can handle 40+ devices with ease with room to grow. I have wifi coverage in places where a 4 node Velop system struggled. Couldn't be happier with my investment.. Pros: 1) Excellent wifi performance in all nooks and corners 2) Easy set up right out of the box 3) Able to handle 40+ devices with potential for more 4) Seamless switching between main and satellite nodes without disconnects Cons: 1) Price - but you get what you paid for 2) iPhone app is very basic - no way to add Static IPs, Access Control schedules etc. 3) Web UI is dated - needs work on ease of use

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MESH NETWORK PERIOD
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best network device of any kind. The software is the best I've ever seen. As long as you can read and follow the simplest of directions, this thing is brain-dead simple and blazing fast. It took me less than 30 minutes to set it up, including locating and plugging in the devices. It immediately found all 26 of my wifi devices and connected with them. The setup, the coverage, the speed and the ability to control your system from a phone could not be better.

Very good Mesh System
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a month since I installed this mesh system and so far very stable and happy with the results. The speed is very good if you have Gig internet connection at home. Setting it up was easy with the app or via the web interface, I will give this system 5 stars if it can be configured further like their other routers. Does not have 160 option yet. It is possible to get with an update. Parental control is not existent. If you have kids, this is not the router/mesh combo you should have. Another reason for 4 star vs 5 star is the price. Other than that, works great and you can cover over 5000 sqf with these 3 units. Solid signal everywhere and download speeds on my iPhone 600+ and same upload. At a distance, average download 400+ and same uploads.

EXCELLENT ROUTER- The best money can buy. Period.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this considering that it is life changing. I bought a $400 router earlier this year and everything was great until I moved into a new house. I had to have my router in the basement and things quickly went downhill. I’m someone who’s grown increasingly reliant on smart home features, so imagine my frustration when my lights, plugs, and other smart devices were consistently dropping connection to my router/Alexa. I finally had enough. I did a fair amount of research and it seemed the verdict was that Orbi routers are some of the best money can buy. I nearly chocked at the $999 price tag, but I quickly reminded myself of the frustration that would be saved if I forked over the money. I’ve had this router for about a week now, and all I can say is WOW. I get consistent internet speeds of 1 g/b per s in every single room of my house. Gaming and streaming movies in 4K have never loaded so fast. I can definitely say I’ve never experienced internet this fast before, even in businesses. Set up was super easy, and there was a nice tip in the set up instructions saying to name your router the same name as the old one to avoid having to reconnect all your devices. I have over 100 devices connected to my network, so this would have taken hours. But following these instructions, everything was reconnected in 30 seconds. I’m now enjoying the fastest internet I’ve ever experienced, and knock on wood, I have yet to have any of my devices drop connection, when it was a daily occurrence with my old router. If you’re on the fence with this one, just do it. You will be extremely happy you did. I went way over kill on this one, the router’s range is 6500 square feet when my home is just above 2000. I get about 800 mb/s in the far corners of my yard and was able to install smart plugs outside because of the impressive range. I thought this was a nice bonus. Here’s to hoping this lasts! I will be sure to update my review if anything changes but as of now, I’m blown away by how great this router is

Better than previous gen but there are issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had ASUS Gt-AX11000 for couple of weeks in AiMesh mode and had horrible connectivity issues so returned and bought Orbi RBK852. Setup was straight forward, initially for first hour or so lot of connection dropouts, rebooted the router and connectivity stabilized but Ethernet ports/connections loses every few minutes. Yet to call netgear support to fix Ethernet connectivity issues. With previous gen orbi used to get 200-250 mbps speed with new one I’m getting 300-370 mbps. With ASUS when it worked I got 500-570 mbps speed, so it’s bit inferior compared to ASUS ax11000 on performance but beats it with strong reliability.

Great upgrade to WiFi 6.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the AX6000 for just over a month now. The AX6000 replaced my Apple Airport Extreme and Airport Express system. I had recently replaced my modem with the Netgear CM1150V to take full advantage my ISP's service. The AX6000 router has been a significant improvement and I have had no problems with it once it was installed. All computers, printers, etc are all connected wirelessly, no wired connections, and they all work as expected. The AX6000 is backwards compatible with all my current devices (Apple and other devices) as they work fine with this system. The performance is significantly better than the Airport Extreme. Latency is less than 25% of what it was with the Airport Extreme and the wireless download and upload speeds are significantly faster (the speeds can approach the maximum achievable with direct LAN connection to my modem). I was able to reprogram my Airport Express stations to work with this system and provide a connection for Airplay over speakers connected to my Airport Express stations. The router and a single satellite provide more than enough coverage for a moderately large house with 3+ levels. The AX6000 was not as easy to set up as I anticipated. I had to follow the directions to the letter, which meant disconnecting everything before attempting to do the set up. I am also not a fan of the mobile app, but it functions okay. The system does not automatically up update firmware, but a notice is pushed out to you when one is ready to be installed. That said, once set up this new system has been as stable as my previous Airport based one. Overall, I am very pleased with the AX6000 and am happy that I upgraded now. It is pricy at this time, but for me the expense will be worth it in the long run. As desktop, laptop and other devices become WiFi 6 capable I will be able to take advantage of their capabilities. In the meantime, this system is fully compatible with all the devices I presently own and everything just runs faster, much faster.

Best router I’ve used to date
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these routers to improve the internet speeds around our house and they did not disappoint. The speeds are blazing fast and I love that each unit has 4 wired connections. Setup was easy but be warned, when you are doing the initial setup, DO NOT rename the network until after setup is complete, you’ll save yourself a huge headache trying to get the app to work later. I read a review that stated these do not work with Ring devices or smart home products but that is absolutely false. Users just need to reconnect to the new network even if it has the same name. The Orbi units are very expensive but they do deliver.

Best Wi-Fi out there
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I believe the orbi systems are the best consumer routers out there. I had the Amplifi HD and tried the Amplifi alien, and I was very underwhelmed by both. Good interfaces, and controls, but lackluster performance. The orbi was a breeze to setup; it does all the configurations for you, you just pick a name and password for the network. No deciding which setting is best, the default settings work better than any configuration I got from the Amplifi products. The downside of this, is that there isn't much you can change on the app (I can't even set static IP addresses). I haven't checked, but maybe there's a web client that lets you change more "advanced" settings. My only complaint is that Netgear's greedyness shows a lot. Any orbi system is very expensive, which for the performance alone is worth the asking price, but then lock certain things behind a subscription. If I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a router, I don't think I should have to pay for parental controls. All it seems to let you do is track and limit any device. How is this a service? This should just be a feature of the product. Other products and brands offer more, for way less. The Amour subscription I somewhat get, as it also gives you bit defender for multiple devices. I just feel like a router of this price shouldn't have a bunch of things behind a pay wall. All in all, I think it's a solid product that is worth the hype (and the price).
