My home’s configuration creates several challenges for any router so a mesh system (main plus 2 satellites) was a must to achieve suitable, reliable performance for simultaneous gaming and multi-device streaming. The Orbi 950 has outstanding performance and straightforward setup. Much improved over Cox’s PW8 router. Had to call Cox but they knew the drill. The only reason not 5 stars is price especially given I also had to buy a modem (NETGEAR Nighthawk CM2000).

This Netgear Orbi Quad-Band had my iPhone speedtest over 900 mbps after an easy QR Code install, so I replaced 2 routers, numerous repeaters, and turned off the Wi-Fi capability of my modem. Previously, I’d only seen 250 mbps on Wi-Fi and 900 mbps on hardwire. Before buying the Orbi, I tried renting 4 Plume pods from my ISP, but they couldn’t even provide the range and reliability of my last dual-bad router. 100% telework in our smart home and running a YouTube channel has never been easier. The Orbi’s worth the money to have the fastest Wi-Fi we’ve ever had in every corner of the house with coverage in our yard.

Upgraded from the orbi 750 series, definitely noticed a huge difference in range and no more dead zones! Full coverage from the back yard all the way to the front! Huge improvement on speeds as well!

The Netgear Orbi AXE11000 is considered THE top of the line WiFi consumer mesh system on the market today, and I can see why. I have mine replacing an old Deco system that has worked well over the years, but this thing blows it out of the water. With stations in the exact same place as my previous system, I can now get reception just past my backyard deck, where before I had to stay much closer to the house. And because of the better connection, I’m getting faster speeds too. I haven’t tried it yet, but streaming HD movies to the backyard should be a much better experience now. It already seems like I’m getting better picture quality with fewer artifacts in my TV’s built-in smart apps. Aside from the better range, I have some newer devices that use WiFi 6, and it’s downright awesome to see my laptop connected with over 1Gb/s of transfer speed.
Setup, connecting, and actually using the Orbi AXE11000 was the most pain free experience I’ve had setting up a router as well. I already have the Fios modem’s built-in WiFi turned off, so my setup was as simple as unplugging my Fios modem/router, letting it boot back up, connecting the Orbi to it, press a few buttons on the app, and everything was up and running in about 15 minutes. I reused the same network ID and password, so every device but one connected to it automatically. Each wireless station has 4 ethernet ports, which essentially work as a wireless hub and has been working flawlessly so far. One feature that I really like about the app is how easy it is to see each device connected to Orbi, which enables you to custom name them and pause their individual connection. In fact, you can even create groups of devices and turn off/on their internet connection with one click. I can see this being very handy for managing the family’s internet time, as well as restricting some devices if needed. Make a group of devices for each person in the family, do it by room, devices, etc… it’s pretty nifty how easy it is to set up and use.
So far my experience with the Orbi AXE11000 has been amazing, but despite the high price tag it’s missing a key feature some people might be looking for. I don’t see any options to make custom data traffic or priority rules. Nothing to prioritize video, or gaming, or specific devices like some other WiFi routers and mesh systems do. It’s something I enjoyed with the Deco, but find it absent here. On the other hand, I haven’t felt like I needed it since installing the Orbi either. Maybe it manages traffic so quickly and well that there’s no need to fiddle with such things? And if that’s the case, awesome, because it’s one less thing to manage.
The Orbi AXE11000 quad-band WiFi mesh system is one of the fastest wireless router systems in the market today, with features that should keep it future proof for many years to come. Setting up and using the system is simple, and you won’t need to upgrade WiFi systems for quite a long while (in tech years at least). With the capability to handle up to 15GB/s, 4 WiFi bands, WiFi 6E capability, 2.5GB ethernet ports, long range, and ability to connect over 200 devices, the AXE11000 is a good fit for businesses that need to manage their WiFi connections, families that want to manage their kids internet time, anyone that wants to future proof their WiFi, or simply wants the best and fastest available. If you don’t mind the Orbi not being able to prioritize device connections and got the beans for it, I highly recommend the Orbi AXE11000. It is blazing.

I got this mesh because my google nest wifi pro (5 of them) did do it for me and I was researching that for a big house, orbi got you covered. It cost an arm and a leg but I have no regrets. My only issue is that they want you to pay for everything, from parental control to shield and all that nonsense that comes free with almost every other route. For $1500 these features should come free and standard for this router

This is an incredibly fast whole-home WiFi system! We have a 5,000 sq ft home and the router with two satellites are all we need to get every corner and even outside on the patio covered. We now get over 500 mbps download and upload in our closet on our iPhones (that is the furthest room away from the satellite) through all the walls it takes to get to the closet! Highly recommend and worth the investment. We have three kids on VR simultaneously playing, and they love it because there is on lag on their VR games. Thank you, Netgear!

I've tried many systems to cover the size of my home, including the Eero mesh system (the Pro, Pro 6, and Pro 6E). They were always error prone and regularly needed to be fiddled with. In the weeks I've had this system, it's been perfect from day one. Easy to set up, reliable, and fast. In this case, it seems you get what you pay for.

Expensive, but best thing I've ever used. Specs had me excited, seperate band for backend, ethernet plugs in satalite, wifi6e, etc etc.
Plugin and setup quick as ever. Speeds, fantastic, but range... Holy cats. Don't know distance, but where my last nighthawk ended I was at 200mbs, ~100' out I was down to 5mbs,slow but wow. Seperate band for IOT as well as guest.

The Tale of Orbi and Me

Once upon a time I had a home network that I also used for work. And streaming. And games. And family. Etc. To ensure the entire family had internet access all over the place, our house, our garage, our land, we had extenders. 6 of them. They worked. Most of the time. Sometimes when I taught online classes. Sometimes when we watched movies. Sometimes when the grandkids played games. Then a friend suggested I look into Orbi. I did look. And I found the Quad Band 6E Mesh. Orbi and I ate best friends. Together, we got rid of all those extenders. So easy to add satellites if needed. So reliable. So consistently there for me and for my family. No dropped service. No spinning hourglass or circle. No unplugging the router and plugging it back in. No frustration. Hardly a thought about my network except to realize it just works without me.

My previous 1 months ole WiFi system from the other manufacturer died; they kept dropping off and my IOT equipment at home were not functioning. Decided to go with the industry leading brand when I had to purchase a new. Going with the RBR 960 WiFi 6E was a downgrade before I had it running, but my budget was tight. After setting it up, the WiFi Internet speed exceeds the previous WiFi 7 and it is very reliable. The only thing I got to complain is the APP; it is very slow to load or connect to the routers, something it shows nothing is connected to it while all my IOT equipment is connected and working fine. Netgear should improve their APP

Significantly faster than the 3 year old Orbi it replaced. Only knock is the price - which was on sale plus I did BB's router trade-in offer (and was still more than double the cost of the previous Orbi).
I hardwired my downstairs connections between the router and satellite with CAT 6A connections to future proof it some. The upstairs satellite is wireless and the combination doesn't leave any dead zones.
The speed of the wired connections is crazy efficient for 6E devices. I'm getting DL speeds of 949 to the router and 934 to my iPhone sitting 20' away. UL speeds are 942 at the router and 768 on my phone.
I debated about getting the Orbi 970, but couldn't justify the cost given that my ISP is only 1G.

I live in West LA, amidst 1 million people in a square mile. Internet service was always weak, but with the Orbi, I have superior internet service now, with great security, and the option for guest WiFi. Also…I am not the most tech savvy person, but setting this up was easy and completed in less than 10 minutes. Cost of the Orbi, plus the protection plan was a thousand bucks (ouch!) but the payback in great internet and elimination grief/complaints from my family members about crappy internet service makes this the best thousand bucks I’ve ever spent!

The AXE 11000 Quad bans WiFi 6Emesh system 963 pack is nice. I would like it if it was the black one but I would have had to order it and would not feel safe left out side waiting for me to get home so I got the white ones from Best buy. It's still the same unit and it out performs all the routers I have had in the past. It makes my security system work much faster on live feed and streaming video is faster too. I now can take advantage of the full speed that I am paying for from my internet provider. So far so good. I noticed the difference and you will too. I think the Quad band dedicated line for communication between the nodes make a difference. Stop looking for the best, I think its here. You will need a fast internet speed good modem and the Netgear Orbi AXE 11000 will perform just the way you want.

This mesh product is fast, has great range , and is mostly consistent. Having built a mesh network consisting of 4 ASUS routers, it was refreshing to have this solution, but some of the setup was just a bit quirky, and I ended up having to set them up manually....turning off cable modem, turning it back on , waiting til it was fully running, then adding the main router, once it was fully operational plugging each LAN item in, then adding each satellite one at a time, powering one on, waiting til it fully booted, plugging in LAN items one at a time, waiting, then the other satellite, etc, and now it's all working great. One satellite fell off the network within a couple of days (and I'm using wired backhaul, btw), but I unplugged it, waited a minute, then plugged it back in, and it reconnected to my network within about 2 minutes.

Its been 3-4 years since I purchased a Netgear product but I have to admit that this is one of the best Mesh Wi-Fi solutions out there. Between the speeds, coverage, and the app, it made using and setting it up very simple. I am very pleased with this purchase.

The set up was simple. Just plug it in, download the app, answer a few questions, and off to the races. Way better than the router plus extender setup that I had before. The range, connections, and speed are amazing. I get a minimum of 3 bars of wifi anywhere on my 1.5 acre property.

I am super pleased with my new Mesh 6E Orbi system by Netgear. We never got great coverage in the house and now I have lighting fast speed everything. I also noticed my WiFi speeds on my computer doubled, which is outstanding. Totally recommend the system if you are looking for something that will be future proof for many years.

I.purchased the Orbi 9300 mesh router and installed it in about 1.5 hours. The signal strength is great and performance throughout the home is very good on all devices. Our Ring doorbell and all our Google cameras and floolights required hard resets after installation of the mesh system, even though I renamed the router the same as the relaced router, with same password, as suggested by Netgear. After all devices were connected, performance on all devices have been great.

We were having non-stop issues with our current wifi6 system. Constantly dropping, along with episodes of not working at all until I did a complete reset. My wife works from home so it's imperative the wifi stays working. We got so frustrated that we took the also expensive system and tossed it. In comes the new Orbi 960! Easy to set up and from that day to now, as I'm writing this review it has been FLAWLESS! I mean no one's perfect but so far this has been as close as it gets. I rarely write glowing reviews but felt compelled to let other work at home people that there is hope. Thank you netgear. Oh, I highly recommend lol
