Fantastic Mesh System

I hope this review helps others in their decision-making process. After being a loyal Linksys fan for years, I recently upgraded to the Velop Pro 7. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite spending countless hours troubleshooting with Linksys tech support, I could never achieve the advertised Wi-Fi speeds. Frustrated, I decided to return the Velop Pro 7 and opted for the Orbi 970 after conducting thorough research. I’m thrilled with my decision! The Orbi 970 delivers exceptional Wi-Fi speeds and coverage throughout our 3,800 square-foot home and even extends well beyond the house. This mesh system has truly exceeded my expectations.

You Wont be disappointed

I’ve deployed them for small businesses. I had 2gb fiber line installed and wanted to upgrade to the 970’s for a while. I finally pulled the trigger and I am not disappointed. The speed is unbelievable. I get the most out of my devices and use the WiFi 7 for high end gaming. I highly recommend it especially for those of you that have internet speed over 1gb. Must have!!

Great WiFi mesh system, security behind paywall

As a WiFi access point the product is excellent and stable. As a network router and security appliance the system is lacking. On network router, DHCP is missing customizable options such as custom internal DNS , missing VLAN and network segregation, it does have WLAN, IOT and Guest but missing ability to add more and assign different profiles to those network segments. On the security features, it is locked behind a pay wall. I already have a subscription for VPN for WireGuard/SurfShark and could assign different devices to be split tunneled with my old device. Can't do that with Orbi, I did not even want to try to subscribe to the paywall feature.

Thank you for your review and valuable feedback. If your home network includes a server, you can allow certain types of incoming traffic to reach the server. For example, you might want to make a local web server, FTP server, or game server visible and available to the Internet. The router can forward incoming traffic with specific protocols to computers on your local network. You can specify the servers for applications and you can also specify a default DMZ server to which the router forwards all other incoming protocols. For setting up a VLAN, please visit the User Manual beginning on page 97.

Never worked

Kept telling me there was no internet. If I’m paying $2000 for something, and it doesn’t work right out of the box, a replacement would have eventually do the same thing. Im currently looking into different brands that have fewer issues.

When experiencing an issue with your device not connecting to your modem, we recommend a few troubleshoot steps including unplugging the ethernet cable from your Orbi Router's 10 Gig Internet Port from your modem and then perform a full power cycle of both your Orbi WiFi system as well as modem. After everything has come back online, please reconnect your modem to your Orbi Router. Finally, if you experience this issue again, we recommend changing out the ethernet cable used to connect your Router to your Modem to a different one available to you. I have one foot in the grave, so this will be the last one I buy. I suggest you pay for the Geek Tech to install. I did and am sure glad I did.

Not worth the cost

The satallites continually lose contact with the main router, the firmwear seems to actually prevent devices from seamlessly jumping from one to the next within the environment (we often have to go into settings a reselect the router for it to connect appropriately when it moves from one environment to the next), by Netgear's own admission, they have a firmware sync issue with them and, finally, once you've owned them for 90 days, they will ask you for a credit card before talking to you for support.

Speedy and seamless setup

Seem to have less lag or disconnections with smart home devices on that IOT network. Previous used Linksys Atlas Max 6E consider this a major upgrade.
