I don’t know what it is. It’s not that good for the price

The Good: - Setup: The setup was easy, I was surprised at how fast it was up and running. I am glad to see they are finally making the setup ‘dummy proof’ - Mesh Network: If you are not using a mesh network to cover your entire house, your doing it wrong. There is no more ‘low connections’ in different parts of the house. I have full strength in every room of the house, my backyard, my garage, and my shed. Its really awesome. - Parental controls: not perfect…but pretty good filter. Kids will find a way to get around it if they try hard enough...but I like that it helps keep some of the 'accidental' adult exposure away from them. - Gigabit ports: not that I really need it, but I like know I have it! -Aesthetics – pretty cool little compact router The Bad: -Netgear Armor: basically a really cool anti-virus layer that protects everything on your network…however they only give you a 1 month trial of it. I wish they included it standard. -Internet speeds on wifi max out around 850 mbps…for most people that will be plenty, but if you have gigabit service you won’t get the max out of wifi Other – - I was part of a Netgear first look program and received this router as part of a review and test program. I am so glad to see Netgear investing in bringing more Mesh network type routers to the market.

3000 sq.ft. House is barely have any internet with 1 GBs connection and those satellites. Slow speeds, often have to restart those. Not satisfied.

2 of the 3 satellites died after the 90 days warranty period. They started blinking red. Netgear tech support verified that is a hardware failure. They initiated an RMA where the customer has to pay for shipping the defective unit back to them and upon receiving the defective units they will send out replacements. Save yourself the trouble and buy something more reliable preferably from another brand!

It is good product but only problem on it is internet keep go in and out.That is only problem on it.

This was too much of a headache to deal with. I returned it and bought the AT&T extenders

Certain websites can not be accessed when using Orbi such as Hulu and Netflix.

Did not provide the needed service it was bought for. I wish I could have taken it back as my 14 day return window happened while we are in quarantine, I don't know that is possible.

NETGEAR Orbi RBK14 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System is the best mesh router on the market today. It is everything all of us ever wanted and wished for. It is not just for gamers or IT professionals. It is for the rest of us as well. Yes, this router is very powerful but it is also very easy to setup. The setup is done through Orbi app on my phone. Once I unpacked main unit and plugged it into the wall and modem, it was very easy to set it up using Orbi app. Just changed ssid to my previous one and used the same password so all my devices will seemingly connect to the new router without the need to punch in a new password. This is very useful since I have a lot of devices that control my home and they all found this new mesh router very fast. Some devices are using 2.4ghz but most use 5ghz and they all connect to a single network that automatically decides which to use. I placed the rest of the satellites strategically around my house and they all connected to main router automatically. I tested speed with my phone from all nooks and crannies and everywhere outside as well and I am getting full coverage now at full speed just like that. I am very impressed with the simplicity of this router system and how powerful it actually is. I am streaming movies in every room, kids play their PS4 and Xbox without any lag. It is very impressive. It is also very beautifully designed. No antennas sticking out. It has small footprint and modern design. It is also priced very affordably when comparing to others on the market. I like that Netgear Armor protects my whole network from viruses and data loss without a need to install separate applications on each computer and phone. Also parental controls work good allowing me to manage my kid’s internet time and places they go. I’m having a blast with this router and would like to recommend it to you. This is how networking should be. Very stable connection, great security, ease of installation: what else one would want in a router. It was very nicely packaged, the router and satellite units. All the satellite units are the same size (right size). I followed the quick install instructions, removed my old router. I plugged the Orbi router into the cable modem with the ethernet cable (provided in the box). I put a couple of satellites downstairs and one in a room upstairs and plugged in the power. I installed the Orbi Android app on my cell phone and started the installation process. Installation was simple and easy, it took a while for the Orbi app find the satellite. I had to try a couple of times to find all the satellites. The configuration was simple and easy. The router upgraded to the latest firmware and was ready to use in a few minutes. This router eliminated the "WiFi dead zone" in my house. Now I have great Wifi connection in every room. I get great bandwidth, finally able to leverage the bandwidth from the service provider. This product exceeded my expectation. I have been using it for a week without any issues. Awesome performance and reliability that Netgear is know for. I am happy that this product didn't disappoint me, it met my needs and exceeded my expectation. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a large house and "WiFi dead spots" or WiFi coverage issues. SImple and easy installation, it is a breeze to set-up and you will be up and running in a few minutes. Awesome product.

Does this system speed up the connection throughout the house? Yes. But it is unable to work with the following... HBO Now Amazon Prime Video Ring Doorbell Disney+ Arlo Pro Cameras So Netgear... until you build a system that can behave well with all of the other things we have in our homes... this is worthless. Replaced it with google wifi and everything worked.
