Customers are saying

Customers regard the Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System highly for its ease of use, extensive coverage and range, and strong signal strength, leading to consistently good performance and reliable WiFi. The setup process is also praised for its simplicity. However, a common concern is the relatively high price point.

    Great range but satellites disappointing

Easy to setup and put into use. We have a large ranch with basement and needed a way to get coverage throughout. The base unit works great. The satellites have great speed but anytime the feeding Xfinity signal blinks they have to be manually powered down and back up to regain connectivity. During this time they still put out a WiFi signal so your device will not communicate to the base unit even if it is within range. I hope they upgrade the firmware to address this flaw. Our speed tests show over 200mb download and 12 mb upload. We could have gotten by with just one satellite unit as the range is great. Adding the 2nd satellite is only of value if you have a location big enough to triangulate the signal. I found placing a satellite to close to the base unit will actually slow your speed if your device connects to the satellite when it could have directly connected to the faster base unit.

Much better than the old router

Due to stay-at-home orders currently in place, we have two adults working from home and a high school student learning remotely. Once set up, we have had no significant issues with router/satellite performance. We are much better able to connect devices do the internet and hold online meetings with Zoom, GoToMeeting, WebEx, etc. Streaming video also works much better across the house. One hitch getting set up - the router wasn’t able to connect to our modem until I used ipconfig to release and renew the DCHP. This wasn’t explained anywhere but if you are having issues try this first. A quick google search will explain the steps. The dedicated backchannel from the satellites to the router is a great feature. We have a relatively slow internet connection where we live so I’m not sure it directly benefits us significantly though.

They are Outstanding! I always had a dead spot in my kitchen and living room due to main support beam running through center of house. Installation was easy just follow the app. No dead zones in all three stories of my 4000 sq ft house. Plus works great outside and around property.

I choose this wifi mesh system over the google wifi becasue the satellites have 3 ethernet ports so u can hard line something in needed where u put the satellites at. Had to make some advance setting changes to get my wifi speed i pay for but now i'm getting 600 mbs wifi and 20 on the upload. I pay for 600/20.

This Mesh System is very easy to use and set up. Download the app, follow the prompts and boom! Home Mesh system. You can access and manage the system from any where with remote login. It is great for me to be able to login remotely to fix issues that may popup at customers houses. 5 stars!

I was having connection problems with my PS4 and my router, so did some research and decide to buy this product. The thing that I love the most is that each satellite has Ethernet ports, which boosted my PS4 speeds to astronomical numbers, plus my other devices have so much more range. Couldn’t be happier

Finally, an easy to set up solution that doesn’t require an IT degree! We have over 400 mbps Wi-Fi speeds throughout every corner of the house including the former dead spots!! My family couldn’t be happier. We have a 2-story, 3200 sq ft home. Fast and consistent. Two-weeks so far and zero issues.

Pretty good mesh wifi system, I bought due to us owning a pretty big house were the wifi does not reach all rooms especially upstairs. But with this baby we have no dead zones around the house and I can actually hardwire from one any of the satellites that are around the house if I need to.

This has provided a much needed boost to my WiFi needs. With my kids streaming and every device needing WiFi access my old router just wasn’t cutting it. The Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi system has greatly expanded my coverage and increased my upload and download speeds. Money well spent!

Using the provided gateway yeilded better WiFi at my neighbors house than mine. Immediately I was able to see a difference. Well worth the cost. You do have to change some settings by logging into your gateway - search Reddit and the gateway model with Orbi for some thorough tutorials.

Our internet speeds more than doubled once we added this router. We have 3 people who work from home, plus a high school student all on video calls throughout the day, and all at the same time. We also have several smart devices connected. No issues with audio or video.

Easy to setup and works as marketed. One thing to note that was not noted in setup instructions, at least I did not see. Upon initial setup these devices will display lites at the top but once it is connected to a network there is no status light. I do recommend this product.

Upgraded the cable company's equipment to the ORBI system. Streamlined my whole wifi, no more dropping off or getting kicked off the wifi. Very easy setup. Took a little bit of experimenting to find the best locations for the two satellite modules. Overall, we are very happy.

The system has really good performance. The setup app locked up a few times and needed to be reset. I could not image someone with little technical expertise being able to set this up on their own. I will eventually buy the outdoor module as well for full backyard coverage.

After unboxing and installing the Orbi app, the app facilitates the set-up. That's nice but it doesn't give you a lot of information or troubleshooting help. Set-up on a Thurs was seamless and worked great for the first day. Then suddenly Fri morn nothing was working and it was a disaster for me working from home and my kids trying to do on-line school. I finally had to disconnect the whole thing and reinstall it after spending a lot of time searching help on-line. It seemed to all largely relate to the wifi from my ISP interfering with the Orbi wifi. The instructions w/ the Orbi told you to restart the modem, but didn't say anything about turning off the wifi from the modem... until I went on-line and started looking through various chats and posts.

Got this to replace my Netgear Nighthawk router. Spent a lot of money on it and now it won't work and won't serve out WiFi consistently. Got this Orbi network and it has worked perfectly. No problems setting it up, and adding the satellites was easy. Very happy.

Good Mesh System - Outdated Firmware

The Orbi is a very good mesh system, but these shipped with outdated firmware and it took hours with tech support to get them updated and working properly. Once that was done, the system works great. Really appreciated the patience and support of Netgear tech support.
