Customers regard the Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System highly for its ease of use, extensive coverage and range, and strong signal strength, leading to consistently good performance and reliable WiFi. I know have great coverage with this mesh setup. I was previously running Netgears Nighthawk wifi and extender, this thing blows that out of the water. Easy set up with the app. Wifi test from all areas in my home with great results in all rooms.

Originally tried a TP-Link mesh system I (wrongly) assumed would solve all my problems. I was so, so, wrong. This Orbi system was in stock at my local store, so I picked it up and was up and running less than an hour later. The software is great, whether it's walking you through setup or when you need to do anything else after installation. I have a few nitpicks (nothing's perfect), but those are outweighed by the system's simplicity and ability to do away with wifi dead spots and maintain super fast speeds to all our devices. And speaking of speed, SpeedTest.net is built in to the system, so you can get accurate throughput reading at the device itself, rather than deal with losses from wifi overhead on one of your devices.

    Highly Impressed

I don’t know too much about these systems, but I will say my home wi-fi was lacking a little. At first I purchased a wi-fi range extender, also from Netgear (AC750 Dual Band), but I did not notice any difference. I then decided to give this a try. Although the price is a little steep, I feel in the end it has been worth it, I’ve been using it for almost a year now and our wireless streaming has significantly improved. I particularly appreciate the satellites, I don’t even use both. I only set up one near my office and it has been great; it supports two video conferring calls on two separate computers with ease. Set up was not as easy as I had hoped, but in the the end I was able to make it work. I also appreciate that since I’ve bought these, we’ve suffered at least one rolling blackout, but when the power comes back on, the system reconnects seamlessly each time without a need to reboot or re-set up. Would definitely recommend. Also, I like the streamlined, clean design.

Had major connection problem in house: 6000 square feet and three floors. Even computers close to previous router would not work. At breaking point in house. Purchased this per reviews and recommendations. Easy to set up and pretty much worked instantly and have had no problems since. This is on our third floor and we have computers and tvs on all three floors. We also have a second floor over garage that is attached to house and it works fine even though Best Buy employee did not think it would. We thought we would need to buy another booster for this room which would have been fine but we did not!! Great solution for us for a great price we think!!

I bought this Orbi AC2200 after I bought the Velop so I can compare which product would give me better home mesh wifi (3300 sq ft). I bought a Netgear CM1200 modem and used these routers to enhance my home wifi. The family streams online shows and while the kid plays online games. We were getting buffering frequently. It happened with the Velop. The Orbi was much better. Installation was easy with the ORBI. I disconnected all the wifi extenders and went with the mesh wifi system. The extenders created different network name, while the mesh wifi kept the same network name. I have a guest network with the Orbi on the app.

I have a 3000 square foot house with three floors. I have the main router on the main floor and a satellite in the basement and the upstairs to get great coverage everywhere. The dedicate back haul channel is great so that you don't lose any speed from communication between the satellites and the main routers. They have been great with handling my ever growing smart home as well. There are also available add-ons for extra satellites like an outdoor unit which I might add as well down the road.

The system is remarkably easy to set up, even with a Verizon FIOS modem/router combo. I’m impressed with its ability to remove the dead spots in my house and help me get the speeds I pay for. The one drawback is that the system seems to reboot frequently on its own. It’s not a loss of Internet from my ISP; the Orbi itself reboots. That said, the 90-day tech support is actually useful. They even call you (like, a real person!) to follow up to make sure your system is working. I still have the occasional unscheduled reboot, but it’s better than it initially was. The mesh network is worth the cost and this odd reboot issue. I’m pleased with the purchase.

I don't have a large house (1,800 sq ft), and my existing modem/router and extender (both Netgear) wasn't providing reliable coverage or speed. I had many dead spots and compromised speeds. Part of this is my fault on where I hid the devices. After years of frustration, I invested in this mesh system and couldn't be happier. Absolutely full coverage and finally experiencing speeds I haven't been able to before. There are no dead spots and moving aroubd in and out of my house doesn't cause disconnections. I find the mobile app very useful in controlling devices. Worth the investment!

I've had the Orbi installed for about 3 weeks. The coverage and strength of signal is fantastic compared to my old Linksys N-series router. Speedtests consistently show 8-10x improvements compared to before. My only complaint is that the setup isn't as straightforward as you'd like. The initial setup and subsequent setup of the 2nd satellite kept giving me various errors. I know my way around a network pretty well so I was able to resolve it without a ton of headache but it's not as simple out of the box as you may be led to believe.

Great replacement slow Apple Airport Router !

If you are replacing an Apple Airport Extreme Router you'll be happy! After a month of denial that my Apple Airport Extreme Router and extenders have reached end of life due to multiple system outages every day, I pulled the trigger on the Netgear Orbing AC2200 Trim-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 3 pack system. Old configuration connected to Comcast Modem. Airport Extreme Base with 6 extenders. Sonos bridge, alarm router and wired connection to far end of house. The Good news is the the Orbing router has the ethernet connections on the back just like the Apple base station. It's a one for one change out. You do need the base with satellites. I found that with the router in the basement corner and a wired connection a satellite ALL the way at the end of the first floor, the combination of those two and then one satellite in the middle facing backyard gives me strong coverage even one floor up (2nd floor). Talking 3 bars. Set-up was fairly easy. A few tense moments when satellites didn't connect in seconds.. just give them a minute and they'll connect. Biggest drama was a finicky sonos bridge and one Wemo light switch. Sorted both out and the system hums. One tip: Rename the network to your old one and use the same password. This way, ALL of your devices will able to reconnect. Netgear (Orbi) suggests the same. Speedtest on Xfinity shows 360 download and close to 13 upload. Downloads were 200 something and 11 prior. So far, so good. If there a no outages anymore, the system is a deal.

...But the Netgear Orbi has made it easier to say goodbye to my AirPort setup. After 6 months of nursing an aging AirPort Express extender, I pulled the trigger on the Orbi AC2200. With 2 college students and a middle school teacher in the house during the pandemic, steady wifi is a must have. Not only has the Orbi provided solid wifi to each user, but my wireless speeds have increased. Setup was easy with the app - even with the main router in basement, a satellite on the main floor & another on the upper floor. Glad I purchased this!

My home wireless was slooowww. Painfully slow. I had to do something. I finally decided to do away with our Spectrum cable modem and router to see if I could get above 23 mbps. With the upgrade, I added the Orbi Teri-band mesh setup. The easiest router set up ever. After about 5 mins, I was up and running. Not just running, I had 114mbps Wireless. I don’t have 1 gbps service here and my ATT wireless is only pulling 7 mbps with DSL. Don’t hesitate with this rig. I’m so happy to catch up, finally.

Unboxed the Orbi system with a base and 2 satellites showed me the care that was used to package the devices. Setting up my Orbi Was very simple and straightforward. You control the system with an app on your smartphone. After determining where everything will go you just the devices in and run the app. My coverage is excellent in an area of the house that previous routers did not adequately cover. I’m very happy with the Orbi system and the Best Buy employee who I talked with about it.

Listen up, computer users. This is Netgear's best of the best, the sweetest of deals. As a computer consultant for 27 years, I cannot say enough about this Netgear Orbi System. I bring nothing but praises of delight about this product. The coverage is phenomenal. The speed is worthy. The price, though, is an investment. If you want the best, you must spend to get the best. This is worthy of your time and investment. Thanks, Netgear, for delivering such a great product. A++

Straightforward setup. Strong signal throughout the entire house. The app is easy to use and once you set it up you can forget about it. It provides one SSID that is both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Devices that need 2.4 GHz connect to either the Main Router or the satellite. Devices which can use 5 GHz tend to connect with that because the signal is strong throughout the house.

We were having very spotty performance with our range extenders -dropping and/or just stopping working at times - so decided to invest in the mesh network. Bought these after reading positive reviews and so far we have been very happy. It was easy to set-up the network (and I'm not highly tech savvy). We are running ours through the existing router so we still have both signals available, but the Orbi has been steady, reliable and faster. I would recommend.

We upgraded from a basis Netgear 10/100 router with an aftermarket extender to this Orbi Mesh system. The difference was immediate! The streaming speed improved dramatically and the coverage improved from barely covering the inside of the house to now reaching most places outside the house. We are very happy with the purchase. The only drawback is the price. It is a premium product, and you pay a premium price. It is high, but probably fair for what you get.

I have a large brick ranch home. My Wifi has always been a problem despite efforts with extenders and pods. I read about the Orbi and heard some good reports, so I decided to give it a try. It’s an amazing system. Yes, it is not inexpensive, but I’ve gone weeks since it was installed and I’ve yet to have a device drop it’s Wifi. It took less than five minutes to set up. If you’re having problems covering a large home, this is what to try.
