Customers are saying

Customers regard the Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System highly for its ease of use, extensive coverage and range, and strong signal strength, leading to consistently good performance and reliable WiFi. The setup process is also praised for its simplicity. However, a common concern is the relatively high price point.

Had BB install this for me. It was not working properly. I spent 90 minutes with NETGEAR support and then fixed it myself. Has not improved coverage in my house- if anything my internet is slower than it was before.

Even though it sets up easily, I still have problems with the consistent connection. We have checked the router, and it isn't my main router. Want to return the product. Doesn't stay blue.

After several days and many hours or trying to get this router connected to our system, we gave up and returned the set to Best Buy. We called Netgear a couple of times, had difficulty understanding the person, and received no helpful advise. We spoke with a Geek Squad rep during a very busy time for them so we signed up for the service through Cox. We were never successful getting a connection that worked. We replaced it with Eero which connected within minutes and worked great.

I work and teach networking and Cybersecurity so just imagine my dismay when on day one it took forever to get the router up and running and connected to the satellites. Randomly the satellites would disconnect and need to be re-synchronized. There was one device placed on each of the three floors in my home but randomly all my devices would connect to the router and not the satellites even though they were closer. Then out of the blue one day three of my devices would no longer connect. Purchase at your own risk. I returned to bust buy and replaced with eero’s. If you disregard my review please at least purchase the Best Buy warranty so you can exchange if all goes wrong.

Fantastic system: good speed/coverage, easy setup

If you’ve ever setup a Wi-Fi router before, setting this up will take 15 minutes max. The Orbi app for android works extremely well and allowed me to set up the network without connecting a computer to the system via ethernet as I’ve had to do for all my routers in the past. This was so easy to setup, someone who has never setup a wireless network before should have no problem following the on-screen prompts to connect everything and finalize the wireless network. My house is about 2400 square feet and a 1 story so it’s more spread out, but this system covers the entire house (including the garage). There is a little drop in speed when connected to one of the satellites as opposed to the main hub but not enough to even matter. I was regularly seeing speeds of 220+ Mbps which was most likely limited by my internet service provider and not the Wi-Fi connection itself. The system has 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz connections plus the ability to enable a guest network which allows anything sensitive you have connected to your main networks to be kept separate from those on your guest network. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs a lot of coverage area throughout their house without significantly impacting the upload/download data rates. If you consider the price of the Google Nest mesh system for a similar coverage size, the Orbi is about $80 cheaper and still has great internet speed. I received this product as a participant in NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program and am very excited I did as it is a great product which is easy to operate/setup.

Would not allow some of my devices to connect although my regular mode would, used same passwords and spen hours trying to make work. Tried to call support and only option I could find was for paid support so I took this piece back and bought a eero which is working flawlessly and give me 5 bars at about 4500sqft

Replaced modem and router, router mesh system was not able to properly connect; router to satellite communication was very sporadic, the app can determine what satellite and devices are commicating. Reset router numerous times after a week and half uninstalled the orbi and returned it to best buy. Tried contacting customer service support on a few occasions but couldn't get the correct support team and just got disconnected.

I tried using this system in my 1800sqft house and it worked pretty well at first. The third day speeds dropped significantly. Did a full system reset and spent an hour on the phone with tech support. I previously had 100mbps with the cable router and a repeater and got faster speeds in my room than I did with this system after upgrading to 400mbps. Finally got things working decently but for the price wanted better than decent. Returned and bought a different system and now have amazing coverage with full speeds everywhere in the house and garage.

Switched from a Netgear R8000 and now the range is less and the speeds are lacking! Also, had 99.9% uptime and now it is hit or miss. My ISP hardliners are all good but WiFi goes down at least 6 times a week and must be reset.

Bought these thinking it would solve my wifi issues in my home and it has not. They are finally working like I wanted them to work but I ended up having to hard wire them in. Basically because of wiring I had to do any less expensive system would have worked for my application.

This was a fine product for about 60 days and fulfilled our needs just fine. Suddenly the product stopped working and Netgear's support is miserable. Nobody should be paying additional money to exchange a defective unit work a unit that may potentially be refurbished after 60 days. Completely unacceptable. There are other options with better support that won't collapse after two months. It's a router, not a power tool. Go another route and save your headache.

Nothing but issues with Orbi, multiple calls to tech support and always a compromise to get one device working, something else wouldn’t. Returned, but eero 3 pod device, no issues since initial plug in and everything (ring,myQ,etc) I was having issues with are no gone, with no changes to my system.
