NETGEAR Oribi is an Excellent Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NETGEAR does a really nice job with the Orbi. I've been reviewing products as part of their Friends and Family program, along with other brands, for over 5 years and have had some great experiences with their products. NETGEAR launched this Mesh Network not too long ago and if you haven't moved to a Mesh - you need to. It allows you to seamlessly move throughout the house without dropping the network or logging on to another extender to boost the power. Set UP: Easy, a Snap, took me about 10 minutes. No issues whatsoever! Speed: It's faster than my older router and extender combination by about 20% and the distance was comparable to my old system. The difference is the wifi login is a singular unit and not 5g ext or 2g or the router itself. I simply walk in from work and I'm connected throughout the house all the way to the far side of my yard. I renamed it to my favorite football team, gave it my own passcode and logged on. Typical speed was 134Mbps download and would drop to 35 Mbps about 120ft outside my house to the far corner of the yard. Upload around 8Mbps... Quality: Excellent - like most NETGEAR products they come out of the box just like an Apple Product and that is meant to be the ultimate compliment:) It has a smooth finish, it's light in color, professionally wrapped and solidly built. One item of note - the Orbi is fairly large in size so I did hide mine upstairs Orbi in a TV cabinet out of sight. Price Value: It's an economic value where it's priced. The combination of a router + Repeater/Extender will run you roughly the same cost but they lack Mesh Network capabilities so the Orbi Trumps that combination. So far I've been using it for 2 weeks without a single issue or concern. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make their live easier in our WiFi world. 5 Stars for Orbi - Great Product.

Orbi – giving professional reliability at my house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got the new Orbi Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi system, and all I can say is how impressed I have been with it! Setup – All I had to do was download the app, and everything was up in running in a few minutes. I was expecting a much more complicated setup. If you are not very tech savvy, the app makes it easy to setup this router and extender. They did a great job of taking out the complicated nature of setting up ‘gadgets’ Design – When people see these, they don’t know they are routers. It’s a clean look! No more black or blue boxes with antennas sticking out everywhere. Coverage – I live on about an acre of land. I setup the main unit in my house, one near my patio, and one in my ‘workshop’. I couldn’t believe how well it extended the signal around my house and on my property! Since I get really bad cell reception, this has been game changer in having a strong wifi signal. If you are wanting an easy to use and great Wi-Fi system – you want to get this bundle! These are simple to setup, look great, and give you excellent coverage. I no longer have dead spots or weak signal. I was part of a Netgear first look program and received this router as part of a review and test program. So far this has been one of my favorite routers and one of the best to review!

Excellent WiFi Coverage and Easy Setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently moved into a single-story home built in the 1950’s that has been enlarged in the past to enclose some formerly interior walls. As a result, I have some interior brick walls and Wi-Fi signals have a very difficult time passing through them. I thought a mesh-style router might be a great solution to this problem due to the ability to add additional satellites to expand coverage. The setup process for the Orbi is very easy using the Android app. It only took about 10-15 minutes and the prompts are very clear. I placed the router and two additional satellites in different rooms throughout the house. Now I have no dead zones in the house and the speed is very fast. I’ve had no problems wirelessly streaming HD video to any room in the house. I received the NETGEAR Orbi AC2200 Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi System (RBK43) as a participant of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program but would have hesitation buying it on my own. In fact, prior to receiving this product for review I did purchase the NETGEAR Orbi AC3000 for myself. The AC3000 theoretically has faster throughput but comes with the router and one satellite. I actually get better coverage with the AC2200 due to two satellites that are included with the product.

Incredible Range!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mesh wifi system has an incredible range. My old router barely covered my house, while I can now get coverage throughout the house and all of the yard! The speed is great and setup is simple. My only complaint is that most of the time the Orbi app has trouble discovering the network on my Android phone. Full disclaimer: I received this product as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program.

Best router I've ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've read about the wonders of mesh networks, and long been a fan of Netgear products in general, and this system absolutely lives up to the hype! I had a blazing fast router before this, but it just couldn't reach areas of my 2 story home and caused issues streaming movies for my kids. With this system those problems are gone. The setup was amazingly simple using the Orbi app, and in minutes my network was up and running and reaching every nook and cranny in my house. The speed output on it is better than I've ever had (who knew my provider wasn't lying about what was available and it was a router issue before), and the system simply works. If you're considering a mesh system, I can't recommend this one highly enough. (I received this product as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program, but absolutely would buy this product on my own. In fact, I've already recommended it to for my brother's family as well.)

Excellent coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system is excellent, it replaced my Google mesh routers. The set up process couldn’t have been easier, just download the Orbie app and just follow the instruction. My previous set up, I had 3 google routers but I could not get my 2 Nest cameras outside get a consistent signal so I had to use an extra WiFi extender in my garage. With this new system, I have the main unit in my living room, one of the satellite in the kitchen and the other in the back of the house. Signal is strong throughout, I can be outside and still have connection. Pricing on Best Buy is awesome for this system, it should be a lot more.

Orbi Great Mesh product - whole house coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying, I received the product as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program, but have been looking for a nice mesh product for my home, so it arrived right on time. The packaging was nice, instructions easy to follow and three unit were unpacked, plugged in main base to power and ethernet and then moved the two satellites to either end of my house. In the box is 3 Power supplies, base, two satellites, network cable, and simple users guide. The packaging was easy to open and the instructions to you tell connect everything and download the app. The main unit is about the size of a small box of cereal and sits more upright than flat like a traditional wifi router would. Less conducive to a network rack, but looks nicer out on a shelf. The satellite units look similar but are slightly smaller. During my testing I tried behind in a utility room on one end of the house and end a far bed room at the other end. Total distance is about 80 feet across the house at those two points. Setup was easy, plug in, and download the app. I used a Samsung S9 phone to complete the setup, it was very simple. It finds the unit and walks you through the steps to setup your network and set passwords, etc. The satellites don't require any setup. They do have a sync button that you can use to re-sync them, but I have not had to. Playing around in the app I was impressed with the amount of configuration options available. The app also has the ability to turn on parental rights, schedule wifi, and a bunch of other features as well. You can also log into the hotspot directly and do more advanced configuration as well. The performance has exceeded my expectations. I am receiving wifi signal in the garage and outside on the driveway, which I didn't have before, even though the AT&T router is only 20 ft from that room. At the other end of the house, my son's wifi has gone from 1 bar to 5 bars and if much faster as well. After using this router for over 3 weeks, my family has been much happier with the signal levels throughout the house.

Better than Google Wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never write reviews, but for anyone wondering if they should get this or Google WiFi go with the Orbi. I have been using Google WiFi now for 3 yrs. it’s a good system. Very easy to setup, and has a great app. The Orbi beats it in both speed and range. The other big advantage is the speed from the 2 satellite units are double the speed I was getting with Google WiFi. The only thing I can’t comment on is longevity since I just purchased it.

Finally!! Something that works...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. And it doesn’t require an IT degree or watching multiple YouTube how-to videos. Easy peasy and it literally gives even, consistent, super fast (over ~450 mbps with our internet plan) Wi-Fi coverage through our house, even the notorious dead spots. My gamer son is happy and the hubby is happy! Now all our “internet of things”, home automation gadgets work as they should! Finally! What are you waiting for, buy it! It’s worth it!!

First system to finally solve my coverage problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our house has a really awkward layout for WiFi coverage, so when offered a chance to be a part of the first-reviewers program (free unit) I jumped. This has two satellites along with the main router. Installation was just a few steps, and instructions were easy to follow. The only time I was a little unsure was when a pop-up said “Orbi wants to join Wi-Fi Network ORBI48”. My only two choices were “Join” or “Cancel”, so I chose “Join” and never looked back. The satellites connected with the main unit automatically and installation was complete. Both the satellites and the base unit are very attractive; the design has sort of a friendly vibe. My house is a great test-case because I know its dead spots so well. The dead spots are gone. What a great feeling; if I had known that the problem was so easily solvable I would have happily paid $280 a long time ago. I think anyone who’s WiFi is less than perfect will be really happy with their purchase.
