It improved my wifi signal (on my Windows PC) but not enough to pay the premium price Orbi support/customer service was poor. Could not solve a MacBook incompatibility problem. Returned.

I purchased the RBK40 set (1 router + 1 satellite) to compensate for the fact that my cable modem router is located at the far corner of my house. I was getting 12 Mbit / sec max speed in the living room on a 120 Mbit/sec download connection. After installing the satellite in the living room, I get >100 Mbit/sec download in the entire home.

This product has transformed my wifi. i can work all over my house without unteruption

Pricey but I finally have wireless all through my house.

tl;dr - the router is awesome and works great. Based on internet reviews and Tom’s Hardware, we’ve been watching this router for a while. It went on sale at Best Buy, so we decided to pull the trigger and buy it. We asked the BB rep if they had it in stock, and his response was “why do you want that router?” He said it was the most returned router, it had awful reviews and we should not buy it. He even challenged us to find good reviews on it, which was weird since we knew it had glowing reviews on every site including Best Buy’s. A double check confirmed this. He said he’d look for it back, but we had suspicions what he’d come back and say. While he was gone another Best Buy rep came to tell us they were sold out, and it was a terrible router. Both reps seemed upset we wouldn’t take their word and buy another router. We said we’d go do more research and come back later, since they didn’t have the router we wanted in stock anyways. Literally 15 steps away from the rest of the routers in another endcap was the router we were looking for. So we bought it. I had my wife set it up, since she wanted to learn about setting it up and troubleshooting any issues that always arise installing new tech hardware. There were no issues. We followed the app instructions and everything worked like a charm. We’ve had zero issues, and the signal strength is awesome. I highly recommend it.

First, I was happy with this product. I search and read reviews, saw some of the disconnecting issues and thought that it could be user error or just a frustrated customer.... however I was way wrong. This product will disconnect from the internet multiple times a day and will have to be rebooted 75% of the time. So do not get if you are planning on having internet TV. I had multiple of routers through the decade and never had any issues. I am very familiar with tech and normally troubleshoot my problems. So far their tech support has unsuccessfully has been able to fix the issue. If you want to read more, just search in google "orbi disconnect issues" and you will read all the issues and find out how common this problem is. I expected a lot more from Netgear.
