Surprised at how well it works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We came in looking for assistance in fixing our WiFi connection issues. Electronics rep suggested this and said it should work. We bought it and tried it out. Easy hook up and connected fairly quick. Haven't had any internet issues since.

Easy to set up, not as fast as hoped in my house
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially purchased this unit as it has the highest potential speeds for a powerline extender, knowing that real world speeds would be dependent on the wiring in my house. Setup was very easy, essentially plugging the units in at either end, and pushing the pairing buttons. Unfortunately, the area that I was trying to cover was only getting 80 Mbps out of 300 Mbps I get at my main router. Given that I could get better speeds by replacing my router with a more powerful one, I ended up paying a little more for a new router ($20 more than this unit) and going that route.

I get 80Mbps
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Live in NJ. House built in 1950s. These devices are EASY to use and provide 80Mbps in 3800 square foot house. Saved me so much time and money because I did not have to run network cable through the house. I have 4 of these in same house. We have Xfinity.

This is great
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was trying to use a Wi-Fi extender out to a detached room but it just didn't work well. I used this in an outlet inside the house to an outlet outside, then ran a long cat 8 Ethernet out to the room. It's been flawless and keeps my Internet fast. I recommend for getting Internet to a place Wi-Fi just won't cut it.

Works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an old unit that was quite slow. When I installed this, my internet speed in that area increased dramatically. I'm able to do whatever I need--video, audio streaming, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Easy to set up, simple to use, reliable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to extend your Wi-Fi reach throughout the house, this is easy to set up, simple to use and very reliable. However, remember these two rules: (1) Do not use a power strip between this unit and the outlet (fluctuating voltages are bad for the signal and I think you might even have to reset); (2) It requires connecting to the remote units via an ethernet cable, so buy a category 5 or better (cat 6 is probably fine) with decent "shielding" to ensure a strong connection. This is a Wi-Fi extender, and you plug one unit into a wall outlet & connect to your router; the other unit you plug into a wall outlet and connect to your device via an ethernet cable. No broadcasting, all wires.

Internet everywhere.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as advertised, flawlessly. Instant wired connection anywhere in the house that is connected by the device. Works as well as it would wired directly to the modem or router. Plug and play ready.

How many power outlets do you need?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked as advertised but note that the size of this device prevents you from being able to use the second outlet in the wall power outlet. When connected to the bottom of the wall outlet, this devices height creeps up into the top outlets space not leaving enough room to plug in another device directly into the wall outlet. This is only an issue if you need to power more than one additional device beyond this Netgear Powerline 2000. I say that because this device has one built in outlet on the front where you can power a separate device.

No console lag
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two Xbox consoles get used simultaneously at times within my household. When we play online together I use the WiFi while my brother is connected directly to the router. I always lag when both are in use and sometimes when i'm the only one playing. I bought this product to correct the issue and I couldn't be more satisfied. My ping went from 99 down to a consistent 43. It's competently eliminated the lag from my Xbox and smart TV.

Not the cheapest, but great in use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We began using the Powerline technology in 1999. Two older pods failed recently, so we bought these. Intuitive setup. Plus, they seem to run faster than the old ones. We like the RJ45 jacks on each and *love* the electric outlet pass through. Not the cheapest, but great product

Great if you don't have the modem in your room
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time hearing of such a device and I'm going to say that it is amazing! New technology is always fun and I gotta say I'm impressed by this. My internet is so fast with this product! Also have an extra outlet doesn't do anything to reduce the speed, so plug away! Good buy, will buy more if I need to plug in more stuff :)

Great for big houses
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy Setup, works perfectly. I'm two stories up from the router and I still can get more than 50% of the signal strength. Also I'm using the 2nd ethernet cable to connect my wi-fi.

Powerline networking gotchas
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive found that in multiple houses, its a careful dance to get powerline networking to perform anywhere close to the advertised speeds. You must move them around plug to plug to see which has the best speeds. Typically if there are any GFCI/AFC near it will cut it by more than half. Actually anything on the same branch can negatively affect it. This is all models. You will see them go into red mode and come back for no apparent reason. I tried about 10 plugs and was able to get 100mbps finally between two places.
