I'm very happy with the results. I had my doubts that this was going to work because I had tried other extenders that didn't work. I live in an old house that's over 100 years old, and it still has some of the old knob and tube wiring that is still active. I was also trying to get a signal from my 2nd floor, where the router was out to my detached garage and the electric car charger; it was a long shot, to say the least. The setup was straightforward and quick, and I was able to grab a strong signal in the garage. I couldn't believe it. I get 20 Mbps download on the 2.4 network in the garage, which works for me.

Product was simple and easy to install. Have centurylink for home Internet (only provider that gets out in country area ) simply followed the instructions in the box and within 5-10 mins I had better coverage in my house. Definitely worth the investment. Have 2 iPads , 2 chrome books , ps4, Apple TV and 5 phones connected to it and provides strong signal throughout house.

Wow!! I’m absolutely %100 happy and blown away with this purchase. Although it didn’t give me the 1000 mbs of my dreams, I’m beyond happy with what I got. I’ve always had WiFi troubles in my room, and given that I live in an old beach house, my options were thin, and I didn’t want to run a 150 ft Ethernet through my house. I would typically get 1-5 mbs and immediately, on the plug in, without the Ethernet, I’m getting a solid 80mbs+. It may not seem like much but it’s the best WiFi I’ve ever had. Setup took about 10 minutes, I had to move where it was plugged into a couple of times but I found the perfect outlet. Not only is the setup easy but it’s also super easy to go in and change the WiFi name / password. I would %100 recommend to anyone who has WiFi issues and cannot get wired connections. Definitely worth the $140

Recommended by a friend who had success with it and so far works great for us. Main WiFi router is in one corner of the house and our room over the garage on the opposite side of the house was a dead zone. Very easy setup, followed the directions, and worked within minutes of setup. Kids have been enjoying the TV up their streaming both on the TV and their devices for a few weeks now without any issues.

Now the quickest internet connection Iv'e ever had. Make sure you do not plug either device into an GFI or surge arrester power strip as the electronics in those devices will effect the wifi output, as in not allow it to function. I used this to get better wifi in my detached garage and it did the job quite well !! Great product highly recommend !!!!

My Netgear signal booster significantly improved my internet connectivity and allows my PC to perform better. If your equipment is located in an area where your WIFI signal is weak, this will definitely provide a solution to the issue.

Great way to extend your Wi-Fi and wired network!

I have tried using power line network extenders and Wi-Fi extenders in the past and never had much luck. This package is a wired power line network extender and a Wi-Fi extender. It allows you to extend your existing network in your house or business without running network wires. You plug in the transmitter unit into a wall electrical outlet near your existing router, plug a network cable from the router to the transmitter, and it sends a network signal through your existing home electrical wires to the other unit that you plug into the wall electrical outlet where you need the Wi-Fi or wired network connection. The second unit has a port to plug a computer or network switch (splitter) or router into, and it also sends out a Wi-Fi signal in both 5 gHz and 2.4 gHz. I needed to get a Wi-Fi signal and wired network connection to a 2nd floor room for my in home business. My router is in my basement and because of the way the house is built I had no way of running a wire. The signal from the existing Wi-Fi router in the basement hardly made it to the first floor. I plugged the first unit in the basement wall outlet, not a power strip, made the connection to the router and then plugged the second unit into the wall outlet, not a power strip, in the upstairs room. I waited about a minute and the units connected to each other through the house electrical wires. The lights on the upstairs unit showed I had a good connection and I had both Wi-Fi and wired connections in the upstairs room that I was never able to get a signal in using the old type of extenders. Better yet, I was able to get more than 40 mbps download speed and 20 mbps upload speed, but I do use Comcast, so your speed will depend on your service provider. I then connected a 5 port network switch to the wired port and I was able to connect 4 computers with wired networking and 3 laptops using Wi-Fi as well as an ipad and iphone, and all had great speed. This all worked right out of the box, but for security, you will want to customize the security and Wi-Fi settings. I have to say this will all depend on your existing house electrical set up. If you have several breaker panels due to room additions or very old wiring, you may not be able to use this type of extender. The electrical wall outlets have to be on the same panel, not the same circuit breaker, but the same panel. Other than that it is worth a try. I have now installed 3 of these for other friends and family and had the same results at all locations but one. In one house I could not get them to connect, but found the room was an addition and it was on its own electrical circuit. I plugged it into several other wall outlets near the room and was lucky enough to find one that connected because it was on the main electrical panel. It was close enough to the room that was a dead spot and the signal was strong enough to connect a smart tv and use Netflix in that room. So in the end it did work in all locations. As I said, it is worth a try. I have to add that one of the units I got did not work right out of the box. I had experience with them so I knew right away something was wrong with this unit. I exchanged it for a new one and was up and running in no time.

I live in a concrete and steel home. Conventional wifi does not work well through these walls. This product worked well when hooked up with Ethernet in home. Instructions are "shakey". One call to Geek Squad and all was working well.
If no Ethernet available, do set up at router/modem location.
Plug adapter into wall.
Connect adapter to router or modem
Plug access point device into wall.
Press WPS button on access point device (2seconds) release and it will blink.
Press WPS button on modem/router (2 seconds).
Check settings on your computer/mobile device.
Look for the "BLAH,BLAH,BLAH...5G. Tap that.
Request for password comes up.
Put in the password for your original wifi system.
Move your access point device wherever there is a dead spot.
Good to go.

I bought a $40 netgear wireless extender n300 but got slow speeds on dl at 2mbps, upload normal. So I wondered if the power line would work as the room is way out over the garage. Plugged the power line in at the router and then plugged the WiFi adapter out above the garage and BANG, instant internet. Speeds are great on wireless 54/6 mbps which is also what I get from the main ASUS R66U router. Wired speeds can be up to 100+mbps with my xfinity internet. I’m guessing most people that have issues with this are not using it properly or their home electrical grid causes problems, both pieces must be plugged directly into wall outlets. This product did what I wanted it to, gave strong internet where there was none at all(very far from the router). I cannot attest to the longevity of this netgear powerline with WiFi but it is working fine after Xbox, phone, and Netflix tests. WiFi login password is on the front of the wireless piece!

Bought this to go in my attic to support my Tablo over the air TV receiver in my attic with my 8-element bow tie antenna. Tablo connects to your TV antenna, receives over the air HDTV signals but sends the picture video stream to your TV through its Apps which are made for just about every device including Apple TV and XBOX, iPad, iPhone and more. My wi-fi router on ground floor didn’t have a great signal in my attic, so I used this Netgear power line adapter to extend my network to the attic. It provides great speed over existing house power lines. You can connect your network device to it at the far end, in my case in the attic, via Cat 5/6 cable. This model also transmits a separate wi-fi network at the remote location, my attic in this case, but I use a cable plugged into it. The same capability exists for $20 cheaper without the wi-fi if you know you will only use a network cable. This provides similar network speeds to my attic as I have downstairs, frequently over 100 Mbps, that I didn’t think I could obtain through my wi-fi router modem two levels below at ground level. Literally plug and play. I didn’t set up the extended wi-fi network in the attic but that appeared to be easy as well. This is a great way to extend your network without using radio signals which may or may not penetrate a long way or provide the same throughput if the signal strength is weak or marginal. Highly recommended for extending a home network and for this Tablo use. By placing the TV antenna in the roof I get very good reception of local and some stations 50-60 miles away without having to erect an outdoor antenna support or run the coax cable through a window or penetrate the house some other way.
