Worked great for my gaming pc in the attic! The wifi is 2 floors down and there have been no drops or intermittent disconnecting on the device so far. Would recommend you put the device password in the provided booklet so you dont have to check the device later if you put it in a closet like I did.

Bought for my granddad 1 month ago & has not failed us yet! He lives in a condo which is small but there are a lot of marble walls & it is a shotgun style layout with the modem/router situated right by the front door... so, I bought this to cover the rooms in the back of the house that were having patchy internet coverage. He has been so pleased; the past month we have had no internet issues in his backrooms. Even better, installation was very simple for me.... took less than 1 hour. The employee at Best Buy was spot-on in directing me to this product... worth the extra money. This one is different than traditional boosters because -- forgive me im not good at explaining this-- but it "REPEATS" the internet signal from your modem/router through the electrical wiring of your house rather than boost the signal through air.... very reliable

    Great Product

I ordered the product online from Best Buy and received it via UPS in two days. When I received it, I opened the package, read the instructions and plugged in the units. Installation was easy. The only challenge I had was the length of the ethernet cables. I will have to go to the store to get a longer one for my office. The distance from the available wall plug to the computer was longer than the cord I had. No big deal. A minor inconvenience. My computer in the basement now screems along on the internet with the connection to the modem on the first floor. Perfect solution to my problem. Hope the guy (or gal) that invented this capability got all they deserved. Thanks NetGear!

    Great PowerLine Adapter Plus WiFi

My Comcast modem/router is on my house's main floor, and capably broadcasts a wfii signal to most of my house, except the basement where the signal is spotty (and unable to be detected by my son's new Xbox). After conducting research and determining that buying a powerline adapter would be the most cost-effective option (versus buying a wifi extender or another router), I purchased the Netgear PLW1000-100NAS, and am happy that I did. The set-up was simple and only took a few minutes, the wired-like connection (through my house's electricity) is strong and allows for high speed gaming on the Xbox, and provides ample wifi coverage throughout my basement. I highly recommend this product!

Does what it says it will do.

The wireless connection in my garage has always been spotty. My workbench is up against the exterior wall of the garage, so running an Ethernet line would be difficult. This is where the NETGEAR PowerLine 1000 came to the rescue. Setup: If you have used other NETGEAR networking products in the past you will see the setup and configuration is very similar. You plug the wall adapter into a walled power plug and then into your LAN network. The wireless adapter then can be moved to any walled plug in your house. My only complaint about the adapters is they are very large and I wish the power plugs swiveled to not interfere with other devices plugged into the same wall plate. After you have attached your adapters you can connect your device to the default wifi network it creates to customize your settings. As with other NETGEAR networking products, you can browse to www.mywifiext.net to configure it. The entire process took under 10 minutes and I had a working network in my garage. Features: One of the features I like about this adapter is it has a Ethernet port on the wifi adapter. This allows you to connect a non-wifi enabled device to your network. This will come in handy when I am working on old computers in my garage that don't have a wifi card. Summary: If you are looking for a way to extend your network without running wires then this is a great device to fit your needs. I have not had any connectivity issues in the 2 weeks I have been using the product. I did receive this product from NETGEAR's First Look Review Program for testing to provide an unbiased review. I love the consistency NETGEAR has used with all their products. If you have used one you can very easily use another. There are a few cosmetic changes to the adapter themselves that would have made this a perfect product but it does what it says it will do. Can't go wrong with that.

Just moved into my new place and my editing desktop system is on the 2nd floor now all the way on the other side of the house and I have no choice other than to hook it up wirelessly. I have Verizon Fios 100/100 and after I tested it I was getting maybe 2/0.2 speeds. This device was recommended by the guy in the store and I couldn't be happier with it! I literally plugged the units into the wall and plugged in the supplied ethernet cables to where they go and BAM! That was it. No configuring or troubles whatsoever. And I get over 100/100 speeds now. If you're having wireless issues (deadspots, slow speeds, etc.) do yourself a favor and get this. You won't be disappointed!

    Excellent for extending WiFi

I have a fairly large house and sometimes at the farthest end of the house, there are WiFi issues. This unit helped me solve that problem. It was easy to set up. I plugged the base unit into the wall next to the router and connected them with an ethernet cable. I plugged the extender into the wall in my bedroom and it was working. I chose to set up the SSIDs to match my current router to have seemless transitions, and have been impressed. The only bad thing I can say is that the lights are a little bright since I'm using it in my bedroom, but it's not a big deal. I received this unit to test as part of the Netgear Friends and Family Program.

Excellent way to really extend WiFi

    Posted .

I really like this. It helps get WiFi and LAN to places that standard WiFi cannot reach. And the signal is just like being next to the main router itself. THE KEY IS: the power socket you are going to plug the extender into must run through the same power panel; meaning the circuit breaker both ends are powered through must be in the same main circuit power box. The electrical wiring connects and passes the LAN through from socket to socket.

    Simple Wi-Fi Extending!

Extending your wi-fi range could not be easier. It took all of about 10 minutes to have my network reaching the other end of my house, at full speed. With a wired connection at the other end it also eliminates any drop in wireless performance if you need an uninterrupted connection to the internet (perfect for gamers!). You can even set the password to match your original network, so there are less passwords to keep track of.

Works great. I get better Wi-Fi signal from this than my Wi-Fi router. I as on the opposite side of the house from where the adapter was and still had great signal to it.

    Excellent adapter!!

I received this product from Netgear's Family and Friend's program. The package has instructions which were very easy to follow. I had to adjust my current router set up (which is located in the kitchen - the middle of my home). I live in a huge home and internet is strong only on one side of the house. At first, I thought about getting another router but decided against it. So now, I am using this product! I connected the adapter to the router (not the modem). I placed access point were the wifi isn't great. This access point is encrypted like my router. Accessing it was very easy! It definitely improved the wifi connection on the other side of my home. I have yet to try if connecting to the modem will have similar or better results. The price for this product is decent -- it depends on what you're really looking for. For me, I liked the idea of having multiple access points so that my only modem/router do not get barred with too many devices. Overall, this product exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely recommend this product for an easy fix to your internet connection!

My father in-law needed something to get the internet from one corner of the house to another and not to mention lower level. The house is shaped like an L, so made a bit of challenge. This worked great to spread the wifi across the house. Plus easy to setup.

    Awesome Device

I just installed this device on a 30 years old house so my cousin's family could watch Sling TV on a Roku3 box, when I started the installation I had very little hope this would work due to how old the building is, I was amazed to see that the Roku connected instantly and with no buffering whatsoever, The adapter screams quality as soon as you open the box, it has a premium feeling to it, on top of that this creates an alternate new Wi-Fi network in your house so you can connect to it wirelessly as well. I'm buying a second one for my house today, that's how much I liked it. I have tried several powerline adapters in the past and always ended up returning them, this is the one to buy.

A life saver! I needed to have a wi-fi connection in my shed for an inverter and I had no good way to get a Cat 5 wire out there. This Net Gear product solved my dilemma, and it works great! I would recommend it to everyone!

Products works great only bad part the instructions and the tech support both no good. I found a YouTube video that gave me all the answers which was how to connect to the wifi the pin or password is on the wireless box but not anywhere less wish the directions told me that. Have 2 roku tv hooked up one wired with the device eithenet and the other wireless no issuers anymore both work great at the same time!!!
