We tried multiple wifi boosters that did not work more than a few days. We might initially have success, but quickly find that signal was terrible in parts of our home again. Our home isn't huge by any means. Finally talked to Geek Squad agent and when I described the issue, he explained it was probably a dead spot and this should alleviate it since it works using the existing wiring in the house to boost and continue the signal. We've been using for 2 mos now and no more wifi problems.

I am having to stay at the in-laws and their Comcast wifi was not able to reach the entire house. With the Netgear PowerLINE WiFi adapter I was able to extend their wifi to cover the I entire house without having to charge the settings on their Comcast modem. Setup was almost effortless and the throughput was excellent.. Probably one of the better purchases I have made at Best Buy and If the sales associate had not suggested this device I would not have thought it would work.

I purchased so that my daughter could have Wi-Fi in her room. My only complaints are that is a separate network from our other Wi-Fi and I can't seem to buy individual receiver units. If I could, I would use this system for the entire house. We are quite happy with the speed of the system.

This works great if you are on one power grid. The first one we installed is working great with no problems for the past 6 months now. We tried to install a second one on a room addition and figured out it would not work because a secondary breaker panel was added to that area of the home thus having a secondary power grid somewhat it will not work.

Great product, great advice from Best Buy Employee. I was planning to buy an extender but the in-line (using the house copper wire) worked a lot better! A big thanks!

It’s amazing. More so, that my son has stopped complaining about weak WiFi signals. We just connected both ends to available power outlets, then connected one end to the router. It worked like a charm and the signal is very strong.

I live in an RV on my daughter's property and had a NetGear router and modem combination. Because of the many issues with the modem, router and NetGear support we were not able to access the internet. I made a change on purchasing a separate modem and router and adding this extension. Wow what a difference I now have internet in the RV and my RV is at least 100 ft away from the house. It is very easy to install, works like a charm and I haven't lost internet connection once.

These work great the problem is they don’t last. The one we use is only plugged in and used once a week and yet we still only get a couple years out of it. But while it’s working it is a great device and I highly recommend it.

    Good Extender

This extender uses the wiring in your house to improve the range of your WiFi. It requires a permanent hookup to your main router which takes up a limited port. Setup was easy and it appears to work OK, but this is not a mesh network that I will probably upgrade to in the future.

I like the power line. It uses your home electrical network to provide you with not only wi-fi, but an extra Ethernet outlet in that specific room. My smart TV is downstairs and with the Wi-FI, i sometimes get lags. This solves the problem as the speed and reliability has increased dramatically.

Purchased this because wifi signal was having difficulty reaching the Family Room in a one end of a 1-story Ranch style home despite having the router centered. This was likely due to obstructing walls. If I am close to my router, over WiFi (2.4 or 5Ghz) I can max out my speed at 90Mbps. In the room I was trying to extend to, max I've seen is 12Mbps, but sometimes even less than this. Chromecast would hang constantly. This device was simple plug-and-play. I connected the router-side to the wall outlet (I used a flat-plug extension cord, not surge protector, so I can hide the device under a sofa and put the sofa against the wall). I connected the other device to a free plug directly into the wall of the Family Room. In the Family Room I had a desktop connected to this HomePlug via Ethernet, and initially the speeds were a disappointing 12-15 Mbps. Despite not having much electrical activity in the house. I immediately performed a firmware update, and after reboot the computer via Ethernet was getting the same 90Mbps. Other devices connected via wifi in the family room were now connecting to this HomePlug device, and were reaching 88-89Mbps on speedtests. The device barely slows down if there's a lot of electrical activity (microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher), I've seen it dip down to 75 Mbps, but still plenty fast.

I was looking for a way to expanding my WiFi service in the house. I live in larger farm house and the installation kills my WiFi. Being able to use the wall outlet with this device enable me to save money long cabling or tearing up my house. Easy to use setup and go. So simple.
