Perfect option for wired connection with wifi exte

I wanted a wired connection for my desktop for better gaming performance, but with a large house, the included wifi extender was also a great feature for me. Setup was basically plug and play. Speed test on wired connection shows performance far superior to wifi. If you're using the wifi extender, some configuration of your wireless devices may be required so that they automatically switch back and forth between the extender and your main router depending on which signal is stronger. This was EXACTLY what I needed!

3600 square foot home with a very fast router could not defeat the inconsistent signal we were receiving in the 2nf floor bonus room. With this device, not only is the signal blazing fast, the network has been 100% dependable 100% of the time. My family cannot stress thanks for the level of ease on the configuration and setup. VERY SIMPLE TO MASTER SETUP. The network on our first floor seems to be running faster with the dedicated devices on the second floor too. My family could not be happier.

I was super surprised on how this product worked well. I truly recommend it if you don’t want a long Ethernet cable running around you house. I used this for my pc via Ethernet and worked great never had a problem with my wifi speed. Also this come with wifi extender too. I used that for my tv and as before it worked perfectly no problems. Once again I highly recommend this product for house. If it’s work from home gaming and streaming this product is for you.

    Simple solution for extending Wifi

We recently became part of the Alexa craze and have enjoyed our personal assistant but wanted to incorporate some home automation, Our first attempt was to purchase some TP Link smart plugs to operate a set of lights in our bedroom but determined the bulky furniture and the location of our outlets wasn't conducive for a consistent wifi signal. We remedied that with a TP Link smart switch but then what do do with our smart plugs. I rerturned two and put the third in our four season porch to operate a bird house camera so we could side step the plugging in and unplugging of the power source which had no on off switch. Unfortunately our Router signal was still not strong enough in the porch to create a consistent signal. I bought the Netgear access point and it worked beautifully. Couldn't be simpler to install. Plug the adapter into an outlet near the router. Run a Cat5 cable from the router to the adapter. And plug the access point into a plug in the porch. We used WPS to connect the plug to the network and it works like a charm.

The Wi-Fi in our house has always been more of an aggravation than an asset so I have ethernet cables hidden all over the place. When my bride decided to move her in-home office to a room where there was no good way to hide an ugly ethernet cable, I took another shot with Wi-Fi extenders. Worked a great a for a few days and a couple of Zoom meetings until neither the primary nor the backup were adequate during an important meeting. I ordered these, plugged them in and all has been first rate ever since. Both outlets are on the same circuit, so even though they claim it isn't necessary, I'm betting it helps to seal the deal.

It took some testing to find an outlet that produced a strong signal for the receiver. The final location worked well but a convenient outlet location just s few feet away produced a very weak signal. So expect to have to experiment on power ends of the power line. Otherwise since final location, the unit appears to be stable and registers good signal strength and bit rate. It was easy to install and the instruction were very simple.

Fairly simple to set up but instructions are annoyingly brief and very vague. Took a while to figure out that you actually have to physically connect the device to your modem with an Ethernet cable. Aside from that, the system works well in the background and is easy to link to your digital devices. Especially valuable in a 1980’s era medium sized apartment that has metal studs supporting the drywall, which apparently impede a WiFi signal. Seems overly expensive for what it does though. Cautiously recommended.

This is a very good product. When I set up using wiring inside the home, worked great! I was trying to extend wifi to a trailer parked 300 ft away, however. I have electric cabling running from the house circuit breakers to this trailer, that comes up to a post with 30amp outlet which the trailer is plugged into. Netgear tech support wasn't sure if this would work in that situation, but didn't rule it out, so I bought and tried. Didn't work, so I returned it. But product was very easy to set up, and would work when connected to any outlet directly connected to same house outlets. Just not thru extension cords, or other cabling not directly in the wiring.

We bought this to extend our internet service to my husband’s shop. It works great! He can now access the internet and make phone calls via Wi-Fi calling. Since it is plug and play we can move it to the storm shelter if needed! Great purchase! Arrived quickly and was well packaged. Would definitely recommend!

I didn't even know this way a thing and it was a great solution to a problem I had. It's the only way I could get a strong, reliable signal to my office that's on the opposite side of my home where the wifi router is. My home is 1900sqft. I was getting terrible wifi signal. It would work 20% of the time and I wasn't quite ready to splurge on a $300 mesh system. I was getting 20down/5up speeds with wifi. With the powerline, I'm getting about 55-70down/10up speeds. But the most imporant thing is how reliable the connection is with the ethernet port. Also, the wifi that the powerline gives off is really strong and provides wifi for all non wired electronics in my office. By the way my plan with my ISP is 200down/10up.

I've used prior generations of this technology with mixed results. This updated generation works surprisingly well! Specifically I had a small cabin 200 feet away from the main house where the internet feed was. There was a 240v burried line connecting them, and this ethernet pair worked! If you know anything about powerlines the outlets in your home are 120v and are on one of two phases (120 + 120 = 240). The fact the signal can go from a single side phase through the 240 line into the other building from a burried cable at that distance is amazing! The speeds were so-so, but at that distance who cares (no other method would have worked). I got 30Mbps+ from a feed at the main house that was about 50 to 90Mbps. So the long range certainly caused some slowing, but it is plenty for Ultra HD TV streaming (which needs about 15Mbps max). Super easy to set up. Plug-in each side, give the "sender" unit an internet feed via ethernet cable, and voila: you've got WiFi on the other side. It works right out of the box with almost no setup.

Extended wifi to a dead zone

The kit is truly plug and play. Plug the source into the router and a wall outlet, and plug the access point into another wall outlet somewhere else in the house. There is considerable drop in speed but the wifi is fast enough to support video conferencing and streaming. Latency is high but does not seem to impede video conferencing. The alternative, running Cat-6 through a brick wall, was infeasible.

So let me start off by saying that the wifi system works beautifully. The signal hardly degrades and I can put the wifi box in a different circuit from the original box and it still works. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it is not all that compatible with the current airport system I have. I often need to manually switch to have my devices pick the box instead it all being one big system.

My internet modem is on the other end of my mid-century ranch home with plaster walls. Prior to purchasing the Netgear Access Point, the signal was horrid (ATT). I had 2 electrical outlets that worked well with the unit, so I placed it approx. 1/2 the distance between the modem and the LT on the other end of my home and it performs marvelously. My computer gets all the signal bars, where before, the best it got was 2 bars out of 4 and sometimes only 1. The signal was so poor, I couldn't hook up my smart TV. Now I have all 4 and the speed and signal to my computer has improved dramatically. I am extremely happy with my Net Gear PowerLine WiFi.

made Ring Doorbell Pro Notifications Quicker

Was able to install this still within the house, as the item is not built for outdoor use. Worked excellent to provide almost instantaneous - 1 second ring doorbell notifications, while prior was taking 8-10 or more seconds from ring to notification which sometimes caused me to miss the person all together. The router is actually physically closer to the door bell but the signal had to go through a brick wall. This device is around the corner from the door and directly underneath the indoor doorbell. I do not know whether the signal travels to the little ring device in the indoor doorbell or the outdoor ring doorbell but it has really helped with notifications. Yes!!! (It does not help the indoor chime be faster though so now I get phone notifications before the indoor chime goes off. Still researching that issue - some say can't be fixed, some say there is a newer ring device that goes in the indoor chime box. Will have to call ring for that. Best Buy did not know. Also wish they would allow the entire song of the chime to play. Maybe they will or have increased the number of seconds you can set it for. Need to check that as well.) But this fixed the most significant issue - the delayed notifications.

Netgear Powerline excellent option to extend wifi

We recently purchased a new smart TV and upgraded our home internet service to a higher speed. Unfortunately, the modem/wireless router supplied by AT&T had to be located at the opposite end of the house from the smart TV, resulting in WIFI signal loss of 85%. A powerline network extender was suggested by several colleagues at work. I chose the wifi version from Netgear. Installation was fairly simple - connect one device to your router and place the other in the location where you want your wifi signal to extend to (extend is a bit of a misnomer - the device creates a new wifi network) One fault of the instructions, though. They simply say "log into the wireless network" but they don't tell you what the password is. You need to physically connect a computer to the wifi device to determine/change the password to connect to the wifi. Other than that small issue, product works great. Connectivity via the wifi device is at 100%.

I had to buy a new modem/router, and opted for an Arris combo unit. While it works really well, it isn't powerful enough to provide consistent coverage in my basement area. Unfortunately, I was away for over a month right after I installed it, and didn't realize the problem until it was too late to return it and replace it with a separate modem and router. After discussion with the Best Buy sales rep, I purchased this PowerLINE extender. It was easy to set up and provides fast, consistent coverage. I would strongly recommend it if you need an extender!

Best Little Wireless Bridge for Home

This is a decent product. I have a residential customer whose home internet router was installed inside of the homes garage. Why? I wish I could say, but this little device is used as a wireless bridge to bring the internet service into his home. The old one died recently and so I sourced this one locally at the closet Best Buy. Was literally the last one on the shelf. Even though it has a web interface we only needed to plug them both into their nearest respective AC outlets and the wireless bridge connection was seamlessly made. Saved me a lot of work and time. I love it when a product works this trouble free, and I'd highly recommend it.

    NetGear Solved My Internet Problem

I needed internet coverage in my new 3 car garage/mancave. If I went the conventional telephone service the cost would have approached a little over $1,000. Why the big cost? The original phone was a single pair, so a new line would have to be pulled/burrowed from across the road to link to the telephone company's equipment. Would have had to go under the road and then to the house and ultimately to the 3 car. Plus, the cost of the additional modem and the monthly service charges for the additional internet service. I purchased the NetGear Powerline AC1000 and voila I now have a strong internet connection in the 3 car. Have hooked up my internet TV and computer and receive a strong signal. Was very easy to install - just follow the instructions. Only took a total of 10 minutes. BTW, the 3 car is about 100 ft. away from my main house, where the original internet connection resides. Very happy with the purchase.
