NetGear Solved My Internet Problem

I needed internet coverage in my new 3 car garage/mancave. If I went the conventional telephone service the cost would have approached a little over $1,000. Why the big cost? The original phone was a single pair, so a new line would have to be pulled/burrowed from across the road to link to the telephone company's equipment. Would have had to go under the road and then to the house and ultimately to the 3 car. Plus, the cost of the additional modem and the monthly service charges for the additional internet service. I purchased the NetGear Powerline AC1000 and voila I now have a strong internet connection in the 3 car. Have hooked up my internet TV and computer and receive a strong signal. Was very easy to install - just follow the instructions. Only took a total of 10 minutes. BTW, the 3 car is about 100 ft. away from my main house, where the original internet connection resides. Very happy with the purchase.

I’ve bought so many products trying to get internet to reach my bedroom. And with the power-line adapter my internet works fast and flawlessly. It’s also a plug and play experience.
With the included wifi extender, those around me and other devices could also benefit. The biggest plus is, the wifi adapter receives internet directly from the wall (due to powerline adapter), so it’s almost like having a little router in my room!

I moved from a small single story place to a huge 2 story place and my office is on the 2nd floor at the opposite end from the router. I couldn't get a decent signal and my 100/100 connection was getting 2/0.2 which was unacceptable. I went to the store and asked for a recommendation and he said this would be just what I needed. I took it home and hooked it up and . . . BAM . . . I'm getting speeds over 100/100. Wicked internet speeds and zero disconnects because of poor signal. If you have any signal problems at all I would run to the store to get one of these! You won't regret it!

I recently built a new shop on my property about 75 ft. from the router in the house and having to go through 4 walls & other obstructions the WiFi signal was showing up in the new shop but it was to weak to get internet access. After reading a ton of reviews about WiFi extenders & talking to a lot of techs this extender was the obvious choice. The directions say not to go through breaker panels, However, my extender is actually going through 2 breaker panels, one from the main breaker panel in the house & one sub panel in the new shop building. I was skeptical as to if it would work or not after going through 2 breaker panels. But,,,, Presto, Alagazam it worked just fine & WiFi signal strength in the new shop was more than adequate to provide internet access. Now I can use a computer, amazon alexa & cell phone in the new building. Set up took a few tries to get it right, but it's not really that tricky once you follow the directions to a T. There are also videos on YouTube to make set up even easier. You can buy wireless extenders for a lot cheaper price if you are willing to roll the dice as to whether they will work or not. Save yourself the hassle of having to return a wireless extender to the store & get this one right off the get go. FYI,,,,,, even if a wireless extender does work for you the signal strength will not be as strong as what you get from this wired extender. This wired extender is probably just as good as running a new ethernet cable to the new shop. I am very pleased with the outcome of this project.

This product did exactly what I wanted it to. I needed WiFi in my Barn/riding arena for myself and guests. My arena is on a sub-panel run from my home electric panel (important to note they’re on one meter). I plugged in the unit to my router and the wall socket inside my home office and then went to the arena and plugged in the 2nd unit. They initially did not pair so I was worried. I unplugged the speaker in the second wall outlet in the arena and tried again. It paired successfully and I have been able to use the second outlet without issue since. The unit creates 2 new WiFi networks with new ssids and passwords. There is one 2.4ghz and a 5ghz. The 5g is fastest and gives strong signal in 200’x94’ open building and even outside 20-30 feet. Speeds are adequate for video streaming. There is a power switch on the side of the unit so we turn it off when we close up for the evening and turn back on in the morning. Teenage daughter has no complaints about accessing all her social media, videos, etc. Next test will be connecting and streaming video from the arena to the internet. We will test both hardwire and WiFi upload streaming. So far, so good.

Was able to setup pretty easy and access wifi from my garage &I back yard. Just wish the internet connect to access setting worked. In any event, like it enough to buy another access point and can now connect my wifi cameras on the front porch. Just wish connecting it to an 2 socket outlet did not hog and cover up most of the other socket.

I purchased this for my parents house. They have a 100+ YO house and routing an ethernet cable was not an option. I installed this by their modem on the second floor and put the second part in the middle of the first floor. They now have Wi-Fi throughout their first floor, outside, and basement now. Facetime is much better to keep up with the grandkids now.

If you’re having even a hint of network issues in your home or work space, buy one of these NOW. They’re not only incredibly easy to set up and use, they’re ridiculously inexpensive considering the ease of setup/use. My wireless router is in my basement and was struggling to get signal to the upper floor (I live in a two-story home), and this power line adapter has been a lifesaver. I may need to replace the router at some point, but I genuinely couldn’t be happier with this device.

I purchased this extender with an expectation that I would most likely return it. I did not expect this extender to meet my needs. How surprised I was that not only did the wireless signal remain strong even during peak use, the speed has never been an issue while streaming Netflix, YouTube, nor any other channel. The LAN connectable option is also great. Installation and setup of this device was simple and only took one attempt.
I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase.

I would have given this product 5 stars, but I had encountered some difficulty during my installation. The units (especially the adapter for the router/modem) did not always show a solid green light before connecting it to my router. Also, connecting to ATT's UVerse router was tricky as all ports were in use. Fortunately, there was one port that had a cable that was not plugged into anything (placeholder) so I was able to use that port for my NetGear adapter. There were some initial connection issues (lights would go red, blink, then turn green) until finally I had a solid signal. Also, the cable could have been longer; finding a nearby wall socket was tricky; had to use the one in my adjoining bathroom. Finally, the 2nd adapter works generally well in the back bedroom/office. I have noticed a definite increase in Internet browsing, etc, since I added this device. Fortunately for me, my newer laptop/Ideapad had a Ethernet port where I could plug in the cable; my older Dell laptop had no such port. Overall, I am satisfied with the product. I do wish, tho, that it was wireless. The cables, especially connecting to my router/modem, are cumbersome. Thanks!

I've used this to bring wifi to my bedroom from the outlet in my living room. The system works well even in my 1950's house with original, non grounded wiring. The speed isn't as fast as possible, but it's good enough (25mbps). It doesn't ever seem to drop out which is more than I thought it would do when I purchased it.

This powerLine WiFi access point solved two problems. The first one is provide a wired connection a local PC at the far end of house. At the same time, it created a Wi-Fi access point so our signal level is at least 3-4 for our phones, ipad and laptops! Easy to setup and have it running in a few minutes!

i promise im not a bot but this isnt bad to be honest. it definitely made me internet connection with my ps5 MUCH more faster than before. i would play online games on there and disconnect quick or have lag issues. for comparison i played in my room thats over 20 feet away from at least one of the physical routers and it isnt even the main one. despite that, i still got pretty good connection

I have a home built in 2005 and just missed a fully networked home. I also have a half basement and no easy way to wire without cutting dry wall and repainting.
This works very well with a power line connection speed averaging 430mbps. Getting the wifi access point out of my basement really floods my tri level with strong 2.5 and 5ghz signal. Very pleased with this purchase! No drops or reboots required yet, been running just over a month.

Was originally looking for a network range extender to improve the signal in my daughters’ room downstairs from where router is located. BB salesperson (sorry - forgot her name!) was very helpful in explaining how installing an access point like this one would be better since it uses the electrical wiring to send a strong signal (creates a new sub network) to the room where the adapter is plugged into. That’s the beauty of it...the beast of it was the fact that the access point has to be connected to the router with an Ethernet cable AND plugged directly into wall outlet. Our router is connected to our tv as well and is so huge it covered the entire outlet plate so only it is plugged into the outlet. That jammed me up since our other devices/tv/lamp/cable box/phone etc also needs power! Not having enough outlets in the area made it necessary for me to pick up an extra long Ethernet cord to be able to move the router/access point closer to an independent power outlet...not so difficult, but just another thing to go back to the store for and time spent figuring how to get everything re-connected. But once the router was moved and the adapter plugged into an outlet (again covers the entire outlet plate), we now have a strong 2g and 5g internet networks my girls can connect to! Better still, BB price matched my purchase which saved me $20! Love my BB!

We had the router that the cable company supplied and we were having difficulty getting service to all corners of the house. This gets the signal where we need it. Easy to set up and was able to move it around to best suit our needs.

Having to work from home these days, I needed something to get a solid wired connection from my router all the way across my house for my companies VOIP.
This works like a charm and I imagine I could plug in an Ethernet switch and plug in multiple devices, but it’s not necessary for my set up at the moment.
Really simple to set up as well.
