I bought first 1 Power line and it gave me a strong signal for my camera around the house and garage. It gave me stunning color of pictures and at the same time I can use wifi in my garage and outside. So, I decided to add 1 more power line for my room and got the same result. Glad I bought 2 of these power lines for the price of 1. Comparing to the other new wife extenders which are more pricey.

I have been looking for a problem solver to cennect ALL my computers to one ethernet solution in a large home. THIS IS IT. Seamless connection through electricity throughout the home. Three levels of home space connect by ethernet by a simple plug-in device. Needed two pairs, but work instantly and seamlessly throughout, even in a mountain range, AWESOME! I needed tech support, and, WOW, they helped every step of the way, even followed up after the problem call. Can't say enough

I purchase this because my recent upgrade router from AT&T did not perform as well as the old one. Without this I get single digit speed and with it I am getting the 50 speed that I should be getting. Easy to install and does great. I would purchase this again. For best performance put it close to the router and then run the single line and at the other end put the other adapter.

I just got a Nest security cam (awesome product) and needed to extend the range of my wifi signal, because the cam was only getting 1 bar of signal where it's installed. I've had problems with wifi repeaters before (the heck with you Hawkings!) and I don't like that they significantly degrade the connection speed, so I figured I'd give this one a shot.
It works. It's one of the easiest network devices I've ever installed and literally, all I had to do was plug a network cable between my current router and the powerline adapter, and then plug in the included wifi transmitter in another outlet wherever I wanted to extend the signal. Give it a few minutes to sync up and that's it. Of course, there's a few extra steps if you want to change the network name and password, but that goes for anything else anyway.
In terms of speed, it does matter what outlet you install it to, and I'm guessing it's stronger/faster if the powerline adapter and wireless transmitter are on the same wiring. That said, I have the transmitter setup in a completely different area of the house and while the speed isn't great, it's fast enough for smooth operation of the Nest cam. The only other better option would be to run an actual hardwire to the room where I want the transmitter and install a router hotspot, but I'm really not in the mood to get back in the attic to run some cables. I had this setup in 15 minutes and half of that time was just unboxing it and reading through the manual.

Works as advertised but the speed loss is significant (100mbs/sec to 15 mbs/sec). So the signal is strong but much slower, which is why I do not recommend. If this is okay for you then by all means do but it, as it works and is very easy to set up.

Used this connected to my Uverse router in my house in Florida. Was able to get very high speeds in an area that was only getting moderate wifi coverage from the Uverse wifi.
Easy to set up and really like that the end point has an Ethernet jack

This thing performs where other wireless range extenders fail. It does not take half your bandwidth like some of the wireless ones do. I use this to get signal to my detached garage keep in mind that the only limitation that I could find was that it has to be attached to breakers in the same panel. I plugged an older router into the LAN port as a wireless access point and now have a super envelope of coverage.Netgear customer support, however is a joke. You’re better off using your AI browser tool of choice if you have any issues.

Wifi doesn't reach the master bedroom so we did some looking and decided on this. So glad we did! Treadmill, iPad, TV, and phones all work amazing on this with no problems. Wifi even extends out to our patio with this. Easy setup and you can use it to plug in anywhere there is a working outlet.

I purchased this extender b/c I had slow/low wifi signals at the opposite end of my house. My pc's kept getting booted off my own router. I added this little darling to my network and sat it smack in the middle of my home. I have 5 bars of coverage on each level (3) and in all areas. I would recommend this again. It was easy to setup and it's been working flawlessly ever since!

I love these powerline adapters. WiFi just isn't always fast or reliable enough for high bandwidth activities like video streaming or gaming, but these adapters just plug into an outlet and uses your house's power wires to bridge your locations. Plug your regular ethernet cable into the adapter on each end and you have a wired network. Easy, fast and reliable.

The Netgear Powerline AC1000 Wi-Fi Access point and Adapter is awesome. You can set one password for the Netgear wi-fi extender and a different password for your actual internet router. This allows you to give one password to the kids (or guests), and keep your router's password a secret. At bedtime, simply unplug the wi-fi extender/access point (the one with the antennas) and your kids have lost their internet. No internet = a good night's sleep. The wi-fi signal is strong and allows for a lot of internet traffic.
As a teacher to students of all ages throughout the past 20 years, I can tell you that students stay up until all hours on their phones and other devices. Even elementary-aged students stay up until midnight or later. You need to take your kids' phones if they have a data plan and turn off the wi-fi. You could also disable their cellphone during sleeping hours, if your carrier has that option.

Okay, so I bought this as obviously I needed a wifi boost. Now my boost zings through quickly! It is so easy to set-up. Plug the one piece into a direct electrical outlet and then into the back of your modem/router. Then plug the other piece into any outlet. Wait for the lights to light up to tell you if the boost you are getting is good, better, or best. I left mine where best is. It all works through the electrical current in your home creating a signal just for your home and your home only. So what could be easier than that - let me think about that and I will let you know. Overall, yes, I recommend.

I replaced an older powerline adapter and this one is much faster. I like that I am able to use the old adapter in another room. The wifi works great on the 5 GHz channel too. Keep in mind that performance depends entirely on the electrical wiring in the house. I had to switch electric outlets because one of them caused interference with my home theater.

We were using a wireless expander and from time to time, the signal dropped. I don't think I could have blamed the previous product (also made by Netgear) because we were so far away from the router/transmitter, behind two walls through the bathroom. It simply shouldn't have worked, but it did. We have 100 megabits cable Internet here and I was getting about 20, to 40 with that. I don't think I minded the speed but if it had been an airplane, it would've been grounded.
I then looked into getting 100 feet cable and I was going to crawl under the house to install it. But when I looked under the floor, it spooked me because there wasn't that much room to maneuver and I was afraid I was going to be reported as a missing person if I were stuck down there. Furthermore, routing a cable throughout the house wasn't a feasible option.
I took a gamble on this rather new technology and I am so happy with it. The signal hasn't dropped at all since we install it over a week ago. The instructions were easy and Netgear provides the software which was easily accessed through a local "website" – the quick set up could have easily have been done by someone inexperienced, but it has the detail settings that I was able to change without any problem.
We get about 45 to 50 megabits with this.
The receiver gets quite warm and I put a little fan next to it. I don't think it affects the performance if it overheats.
When I tried to price match this product that afternoon it was not honored (because it was not sold directly by Amazon.com), However, the Best Buy associate was more than happy to do this and she took the time looking at other websites. She stepped out of the cashier station and cheerfully spent the time with me. The clerk on the floor originally showed me the location of this item when I arrived. Thanks, Best Buy Pacoima, CA!

Needed something to extend my WiFi to my Xbox and TV. WiFi extenders per se did not seem to work that great. The sales associate suggested this PowerLine over an extender so I purchased it. Setup was very easy and now the signal to that corner of the house has never been better. I am very happy with my PowerLine!

So in all fairness I should have listened to the Best Buy associate when he recommended this. I tried to go the cheaper route and originally bought the WiFi Extender by Netgear for $40 plus dollars. That worked fine for downstairs up to 40 feet from the router, but it would not carry the signal upstairs. So I returned it and bought what I was told to get in the first place. This unit was able to carry the signal to the farthest room upstairs, albeit probably too weak to stream movies via WiFi. However, I have no issue with using an ethernet cable from the unit to the TV which does allow for streaming. I am sure it will hang from time to time, but it was the answer I was looking for to get the signal upstairs.
