If you are only using the wired option you should be ok but I lost too much speed using WiFi than what I was already getting in the area I wanted more coverage. Maybe there are things I could do to make better but not worth the time.

    Stopped Working

I bought this on July 1st and plugged it in with few issues. It was working well until now in March where using the same electrical outlets it now will not send any data and even if I plug it into electrical outlets nearby to each other it still shows a red signal on the strength. I tried to get customer support for it through Netgear but they are atrocious and despite clicking in, giving serial numbers, etc I still can't get a number to even call to discuss it. It is not even close to being worth 100+ dollars for the quality to give out at this point 6 months later.

I used this for about a year and finally unplugged it because our it was so slow when you were connected to it. Turn off your router’s WiFi provided by your internet service provider (mine was AT&T) and use Orbi or Google WiFi. I tried using Orbi but returned it because twos of our MacBooks never could get connected. I gave up after five hours with tech-support with both Orbi and Apple. Spend the extra money and add more WiFi points as you can. I ended up with Google WiFi and it’s great.

This particular product does not really work very well for a 2 story house. I have another one of their products in another house and it works great, but this one was more complicated and doesn't extend the signal like my other one

We have the second highest Spectrum-Time Warner WiFi service. The only speed higher is a Business speed which is a $100 more per month which I did not want to pay. This WiFi extender using the wiring of the house did the trick. Every one loves it, it improved the WIFi connection through out the house!! Sincerely, RCInspector

We have a long house and needed the extender, the first three we purchased did not work as good as this one. It's a different technology than a basic extender, get this one that runs through your wires, it's amazing. This one has been going for 18 months now. No glitches and easy to reconnect when the main wifi box was upgraded.

I can't tell if it's the device or the wiring in my home but it doesn't seem to live up to the advertised speeds. I tried Wi-Fi and wired and both are well below the listed speed.

This actually made the signal worse and was extremely had to setup. Getting it connected to the router and achieving a stable connection was like pulling a tooth in an alligator's mouth! We went with something else that was easier and a lot better! Skip this if you can.
