I bought this for my xbox due to ping issues. It has fixed all of my ping problems, but the download speed was not inproved. I have has this for around 3 months and have only has it disconnecr once and it took to work again was just unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Only useable for emergency wifi-less situations.

I feel like the people who are giving these good ratings don't know how to test their internet speeds or something. I tried this in two separate homes, two different locations both on 1 Gig (1000mbps) internet connections, and both times, the fastest speed I could achieve was 7-9 mbps down(Couldn't even hit 10mbps). It was literally horrendous. For these being Gigabit adapters, I would hope to get a little more than 7 mbps down on an actual Gig internet connection. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting Gig speeds, but I was at least hoping for 50mpbs+. At the end of the day, this does at least give you a wired connection if you absolutely need it and have no access to wireless, but in my opinion, this should only be utilized in a last-ditch effort/emergency scenario.

    Awful

Not sure why this has 4.4/5.0 rating. It's hit or miss. I've tried using this at two different houses without success. The first try, I succesfully connected the adapter, but the broadcasted wifi did not have internet access. Only with a wired LAN connection to the adapter gave me internet access, but it would disconnect every 15minutes (impossible to game) Second house I tried using it, I successfully connected the adapters, but it broadcasted a wifi network called "OutofService", which isn't connectable or with internet access. There doesn't seem to be any sort of troubleshooting for this online. I'm amazed nobody else has encountered this issue.

    Didn't work for me

Got these to hook up 4k TV from my router. The TV is on the patio, some 60 feet from the router. Best speed I could get was about 12kbps. 4k needs at least 20kbps. Returned them. They would be fine for HD TV. Or just a better than wireless computer hook up.

Purchased a powerline and it worked perfectly for a month. Now when I plug in the adapter I have zero signal. Maybe I just got a defunct adapter but either way that's money loss.

I purchased this as the csr explained to me that it would extend our wifi and help it. I honestly have not noticed a difference and cannot even tell that it's there. Definitely not as great as I was hoping for.

    Very Poor Connection

From everything I read, this was my solution. My office with the network setup is on the main level, I wanted a better connection on the second level in the room with streaming. I tested with and without the adapter in 3 separate rooms on every outlet in each room and each time the connection was half as fast as WiFi with double the ping.

The concept is good but you have to know your electric. Its not so plug and play.
