Although based on your home electrical wiring, distance and your home network; your speeds may vary. When i had this connected, My internet speed only tested at about 40Mbit whereas my actual internet speed is 1,000Mbit (minus 10% for overhead). This may work well for you if wireless is not an option and you are unable to run direct ethernet wiring from your router to your device.

I have an existing Netgear adapter and needed to add one more for another room. It worked on the laptop but not on the desktop when using the same outlet. Not sure if this was caused by the need to use the VPN on the desktop or not so I gave it a 4. Not sure if this is an issue with the adapter or not so I give it a 4 instead of a 5.

I didn’t even get half of the speed they advertise. And I get 1980mbps out of a hardwire set up. Out of the same setup I get 1300 via WiFi. Wasted time and money. Not happy. My router and even my modem are Netgear also so I figured this will match with my setup much better than TP Link products ever would. Boy was I wrong. I wouldn’t bother if you get anything above 300 via Ethernet.

With the onset of the Stay in Place order, we had to convert a small part of the kitchen into an office. Our router was in the living room and the work computer HAD to be plugged directly into the router. There was no way this could have happened. We could not find a long enough cord to go from the living room into the kitchen (and who would want that intrusive option anyway). The Netgear Ethernet Adapter was the perfect solution.
