My son tried it, but said it was only half the internet connection speed of being directly hooked to an Ethernet cable in our home, so we returned it and installed a long cat6 cable to his room and it works better for him.

It seems to get less bandwidth even when single device is connected at other end. I understand that overall bandwidth may depend on the distance a AC circuits, I just wished it was consistent through put.
