I've tried many of these as the technology and standards evolve. I was hoping that the latest would also be the greatest. Admittedly my house wiring may be part of the problem (although it's all fairly new and standard) but I've tried earlier versions in other houses. I've never had much luck with them. The setup was OK but afterward i connected a laptop directly to the remote end via Cat 5E and ran three different internet speed tests. After trying about 15 different outlets all over the house, I couldn't get above 30% of the bandwidth that I pay for. At most of these outlets, switching the laptop to wifi gave me more speed than the wired connection to these things. That's with one plugged directly into my router and the other plugged directly into the laptop. So I returned these. I ended up buying a Netgear Nighthawk X8 and then using the Nighthawk R7000 that it replaced as a bridge in my remote location, and directly connecting Netgear EX7000 as an access point. Finally, that gave me rock solid reliable wifi throughout the whole house.

We have a home office upstairs that I wanted to hard wire to the home network rather than rely on weak wireless or an extender. Figured I would try this before trying to run cable, and it worked like a charm. We're only running data (i.e. not streaming videos or PC gaming), so I can't speak to those types of speed requirements. But for general office requirements and browsing, it seems to work perfectly.

Great solution for when WiFi/Ethernet aren’t an option. I use these for Xbox gaming. While I can use WiFi, I suffer from random lag spikes which is really frustrating in games. No such issues with powerline. My only complaint would be that my latency with powerline is around 44ms on Xbox and with WiFi it was just over 20. Not having those lag spikes makes it worth it.

We got this so that we could get better connection for our amazon fire stick . We have our router in our room and the fire stick is in the living room maybe 30 feet away. The signal for it is weak but works okay for our MacBook that we keep in the living room. I wouldn't buy it again.

Can be found online a little bit cheaper but hard to find in stores. If you need it quickly and do not wish to wait for it to be shipped, it is a decent prices and works pretty much as advertised. The pass-through outlet is great to have as the adapter takes up the majority of, if not all, the receptacle it is plugged into. I plan to purchase another set.
