We have a router and network switch located at the east end of our home. We wanted to use Ethernet to connect a Amazon Fire Stick at the other (west) end of our home. I could have gone in the crawl space to hard wire an Ethernet connection, but thought I would try this solution. It works great.

When I say it's inconsistent, I mean based on location. When it's in place it maintains a consistent speed, but those speeds vary based on the room in which it resides. For instance, speedtests from my son's room produced only 30mbs while my living room ran at a steady 150mbs, which is the speed of our internet connection. It's likely that 150mbs would rate much higher on a file transfer, of course, because speedtest is limited by internet connection speed. For our purposes, however, only the internet speed matters as that is all that we do that requires consistently high speeds. If my son's room is capped at 30mbs, that is as fast as the transfer speed would be for his room anyway. It's a good product, but I can't recommend it if you HAVE to have a specific speed in a particular location. I ended up running ethernet cable through the wall because 30mbs is just not enough for him.

This device has highhandedly saved me from disconnections on the far side of my home. As someone who utilizes the internet every day for many deadlines, communication and projects nothing is more frustrating than wifi disconnects. Using the wiring in your home via this device for a connection has been awesome. Highly recommended

Needed to get my Roku connected to my network and using Wi-Fi was spotty. Purchased this, plugged in one unit near my router and one near the Roku box. That was it. The Roku streams video without a hitch. Couldn't be simpler.

I bought a home security camera system, and wanted to make use of its Ethernet capabilities to be able to access it from my smart phone. I did not want to run a long cable from the security dvr to my router. This was easy to install with one unit in my garage and the other hooked to my router in my den. It works great.

I bought this after we had Spectrum come and evaluate our internet speed for gaming (PS4) and streaming. My son was constantly complaining about "LAG" and was frustrated to the point that he was going to stop playing. This was NOT an option after I had purchased the games and a headset. There was a problem with our router (that had interfered with our Netflix streaming) but the Spectrum tech said that getting this product would make a difference. I wasn't thrilled about dropping any more money and was prepared to return it if it didn't work. As it turns out, it solved the problem...for the most part. I don't blame the product, it's a matter of my son gaming when everyone else is online. So, it's a win. I was pointed to a more expensive product by the Best Buy associate, but I wasn't going to spend anymore. I'm glad that we got this and it has improved gaming...I think that I've only heard about "lag" a handful of times. I'd recommend investing in this to improve gaming and streaming.

Bought this for my son's bedroom which is on the 2nd floor opposite from the router which is in the lower level. Allows him to game with faster speed than without it. Sometimes is weak, but that may just be our internet provider. Recommend for 2 stories and larger homes.

Tried these to get to the bedrooms farthest from my router and Wi-Fi extender. I was rather skeptical they would work so I set it up and I was pleasantly surprised, they worked great getting the FIOS TV and a few other things via Ethernet cable and usb to TVs and devices in those rooms.
