Was not able to use with my firewall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall product seemed to be lightweight and did not fit snuggly in the USB port. I spent over an hour trying to get it to work. Emailed their customer service and never had a response and called a week later to find out that it would not work they way I had intended...returned to Best Buy.

Best USB Wireless Adapter to date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am running 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate on an Asus Essentio Series CG8350. Originally when I had the Geek Squad configure this computer I had an internal netgear wireless card which performed very well, but with 64bit environment variables with the types of software I use I have done considerable reformattting installations with my software mix and the internal card proved to be more of a headache (installing and reinstalling the card) so I opted for this USB adapter and I am very impressed at the performance of this particular Netgear Product, since I have used the Netgear Wireless G adapter in the past. That being said, this current Rangemaster N600 Dualband is, hands down, the fastest and easiest Usb Adapter for my use to date. I am on a second floor from my router with this computer and am impressed with the performance with this product. I would highly recomend that a user give this product use and consideration. Ease of installation and better 'hold' on default settings.

Good connection but one issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once the netgear wifi driver is installed and the adapter establishes a signal, this product is fantastic. I pay for 75mbps through my ISP, and with the router 2 rooms away I get about 60mbps average measured with Ookla (when the desktop I use it with is the only device connected). However I have one issue, when the computer goes to sleep or if I restart it, the adapter isn't detected until I unplug the adapter, wait about 3 seconds, and plug it back in. The adapter is then immediately detected with no further action needed to connect, wifi connects automatically if that's how you have your pc set up. This is only a very minor inconvenience, especially since I tend to leave my computer on for extended periods of time and it's literally a 5 second fix (and while the computer remains on I never experience random disconnecting), but if this might bother you or if you have a laptop you're wanting to use it with rather than desktop it's a factor (albeit a very small one) to consider. From my review researching this is a consistent issue, not just isolated to my experience. I wish the star rating system was more detailed. I'd probably rate this based on the pricing, product performance, and adapter issue I mentioned at a 4.3 or 4.4 star product.

Good luck using this with Win7 or Linux
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Could not get this to work with Win 7, or Linux Mint 18, and it barely worked on Win10 -- The speed was so bad (even next to the router) that I returned this item.

Fast, easy to use and user friendly!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a gamer and just don't like wires running everywhere so I decided to try out some wireless adapters. I started with internal ones and they were normally tedious to install and one even required me to go on the internet for the drivers... I was like really? lol Most of the other ones just didn't work very well or didn't give me the speeds I needed for gaming. So I decided to try some USB oriented adapters just for the heck of it. I'm glad I did, I'm using this product right now paired with myD-Link - Xtreme N DIR-665 Wireless Router - IEEE 802.11n and it's giving me a solid 300Mbps through walls. Which is amazing for wireless! Setup was easy and with Windows 7 I just plugged it in and Windows found the drivers for me, no having to stick in a disk or anything. Was playing my video games and surfing the internet almost instantly! Amazing product overall, just be careful as with any USB item not to bump into it when walking past it or keep it on the backside of your computer where it wont get hit because if you damage the stick at all your internet won't work. The stick does come in a well protected hard plastic case though, so I would imagine damaging it would be difficult! I recommend the product for people who aren't very good with computers since the setup is so easy. Don't have to open up the computer like with other internal adapters. Hope you all found my review helpful! First time doing writing a review, but I had to with such a great product!

Awesome Adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation is quick and easy just remember to install the smart wizard software that comes with it BEFORE plugging in adapter this will save many headaches as windows native drivers do not work correctly also this is a simultaneous dual band so make sure you have a simultaneous dual band router as well or you will only be able to use one band at a time also make sure you're router is set to run both by default my netgear router is set for only 2.4ghz at up to 270Mbps so if you want to use both at the same time you have to set it for 270@5ghz and [email protected] in the wireless settings, most laptops, smartphones, printers, tv's, dvd players with built in wi-fi only run on 2.4ghz so once you understand how dual band works- 2.4ghz gives better range but less bandwidth with more interference and 5ghz gives shorter range but more bandwidth with less interference then its a lot easier to get things working correctly. Example: I have a 30Mbps internet connection and only run my tv and dish dvr on the 5ghz while everything else runs on 2.4ghz with my tv or dvr on 2.4ghz it streams movies around 11 Mbps where as on 5ghz they stream at 27 Mbps, so basically out of the box default 2.4ghz settings should get everyone connected but may not give best performance depending on what you are using it with. Hope this helps people out

Great Item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great range and anywhere from 270mbps in the next room over, to 240 - 270mbps downstairs. Signal strength is 5 bars on floor with router and 4 - 5 bars downstairs . I even pick up on signals from other houses 100 feet away at 3 bars. I have this hooked up to the Netgear Rangemax Dual Band wireless N Router. (WNDR3300) I tried other routers and usb adapters and found this is by far the best. Setup for this and the router only took about 20 mins. and was very easy. Make sure you Update the drivers

Works great with Netgear WND3700 router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Netgear WND3700 router. Recently, in a room about forty feet from my router the speed of my computer that can only access the 2.4 ghz frequency that had previously been working fine dropped to 5 mbps on my internet that is supposed to be 50 mbps. Frequently, the connection would be lost. When I installed the WNDA3100 v2 with the included CD on my computer running Windows 8.1, I was able to use my computer in the same room and get better than 50 mbps at the 5 ghz frequency with no more dropped connections. I highly recommend this product, especially if you have a computer that isn't equipped for 5 ghz, but you have a dual band router.

Great Product, Super fast connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Followed the instructions. Set up quickly. This wireless adapter improved my laptop in the living room. My laptop runs faster than my desktop in the master bedroom that is hard wired to router. My laptops wireless went out and have been using a unstable Ativa usb wireless adapter in the past. I installed this dual band wifi usb adapter and has improved my laptop internet browsing 10 times faster. I definitely recommend this product.
