Unit came with everything you need. I had a Netgear router which was compatable. Got a little help setting it up from Netgear ( who were really great ) and it's been in for a month with no problems.

Was in desperate need of an upgrade. Installing was a bit wonkey, instructions were not very helpful, and their customer service was terrible but once it was up and rumning it has been great.

Apparently Centurylink has changed their stuff and will no longer support a NetGear modem, you have to buy one of 3 approved ones, so, I have purchased 2 modems in the past 4 months, thinking that the first was bad, only to find it wasn't our end, it was CenturyLink's end. Too late to return, and our only option in our area is CenturyLink as we cannot get cable or HughesNet. And, thus, I cannot recommend this model to a friend who has CenturyLink.

My daughter accidentally replaced my combo modem/router with a router. I went to Best Buy and got the compatible modem and then spent 8 hours on the phone (2 hours 20 minutes on hold with Netgear). Finally got it working and 4 days later the modem died. Lights were all on, but no one was home. I had my ISP check this, and they told me the modem died at 12:58 AM. No one at my house was up at that time of the morning. Best Buy replaced it with no hassles. It was a quick, easy, and painless exchange. It still took me another 3 to 3+1/2 hours (1 hour on hold) to get it working. At one point the representative had to call me back (within 5 min.). After that, and going fairly deep into my computer, we got it working correctly. It's been a week and so far, its working great. The experience should never have been that complicated, and the second time I had all the ISP credentials, fire walls turned off, and everything else ready to go. In other words, Best Buy was great, Netgear made it difficult. This is not our first Netgear product, we have had Netgear modems and wifi for at least 20 years. I prefer the combo unit, modem and router.

We purchased this because it said on the box that it was good to use with Century Link service. The Century Link tech tried to make it work. We even called the number on the box and was told by the company that even though it says that on the box it is not usually able to be used with Century Link

    Perfect DSL Modem

I'll start out by saying that this modem is the perfect solution for anyone looking to have their modem and router separate, and have DSL internet service. I recommend keeping them separate anyway, because your wireless router is most likely going to become outdated very fast anyway, and modems usually last much longer. So you'll save money in the long term, and depending on what your solution is for the place that you live in, it could be less upfront as well! I'll start off by saying that this modem is much smaller than I had anticipated! Probably the only negative is that since it is so small and lightweight, the cords that are connected to it push it around somewhat. The only other modem for DSL that I could find was made my Zyxel, and the product information page was very sparse, and did not state clearly which DSL technologies it supported. Plus, Netgear is a US headquartered company and they are experts when it comes to networking. Setup is a literal BREEZE. The only thing to note is that you need to call your internet provider to confirm your PPPoE username and password before setting it up. The rest is automated, and the only other thing to note, is that I have mine set up in bridge mode because I have a separate wireless router hooked up to it. I have the Google OnHub, but I highly recommend going for either the Netgear Orbi, or the Linksys Velop. Both are AMAZING! Buy this modem, and you will be taking full advantage of your internet speeds, and getting the most for your money!

Works as advertised. Very compact and was easy to set up Saves $10 a month in savings over leasing the isp modem. Pays for itself in a short period of time.

This is the only affordable router available in store for those who have to have DSL modems and it was not worth the money for me. I currently have century link because that is what is available in my area. This router was not as strong as the one that I have through century link and when I had to trouble shoot it, I decided that it was worth the $13/month to have them not tell me that they couldn't help me because i should be getting service. returned it within a few days. maybe a more expensive one would have worked better but I wasn't willing to pay $200+ to find one that would.

    Modem has issues

The modem's instructions to connect the modem with router is not explained very well. There is really not a big selection of modems without cable connection to choose from (3 at best buy). The biggest issue I have with this modem is when you have a power outage, the modem has a safety feature kinda like a built-in surge protector that requires you to re-install the modem every time there is a power outage. I'm a AT&T customer and the modem does work with their service. Because of the lack of installation instructions I would recommend calling AT&T tech support for help installing it for the first time. Remember to write down the instructions - you will need them when there is a power outage so you don't have to keep calling tech support. FYI the user name and password is listed on the modem in very small print. Took me forever to figure this out

Really easy to install: once I connected to my mac, just followed the instructions on the screen and I was done in about 20 minutes. I'm still getting the same speed I'm paying for (60Mbps/5Mbps) but the connection is way more stable than when I was using the Modem/Router provided by CenturyLink, which it used to slow down the internet speed and even sometimes disconnect completely, another plus is that I'm saving money since I don't have to pay for equipment rental ($10/month). My only complaint about this modem (DM200-100NAS) is that it overheat pretty fast causing a connection fail, I solved this issue by placing the modem on a better ventilated location. NOTE: this modem works perfect with VDSL, VDSL2 connections, the box says that it works with ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ but according to my research it doesn't so, I will recommend that before you buy this (specific) modem or any other, call your internet provider to make sure it will work with the type of internet connection you have.

Modem works fine now after some initial issues getting it to stay connected to my computer when setting it up. I exchanged it to rule out it being a modem issue and the same problem did occurr. Don't know if was just my computer. Use for CenturyLink VDSL and was easy to set up once it stayed connected. Have not had any issues since.
