Customers regard the VDSL/ADSL Broadband DSL Modem favorably for its ease of use, performance, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its compact size and the reasonable price point. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain internet service providers and occasional connectivity problems. A few also noted that the device can get warm during operation and that the instructions could be improved.

This is faster than our old modem but has been a bit more time consuming to set it up and get support help than the last one we owned. I'd recommend it still, however, to others.

This little VDSL modem is basic - no "bells and whistles," no built-in router, no multi-unit connectivity, etc. - but it does what it does flawlessly, with very good throughput speed. It is also compatible with most every service provider.
The only downsides: The included setup instructions are woefully inadequate and reaching Customer Support is very difficult without computer access, which you probably won't have before you get the modem installed! And, finding the Customer Support telephone number is very difficult (unfortunately, it is not printed on the installation instructions). Once reached, however, Customer Support got it up and running very quickly.

I bought this with hesitation that it wouldn't work as well as advertised for Century Link ADSL internet but so for it has worked just fine. I can stop paying their monthly modem fees.

The product is exactly what it is advertised as. We had issues connecting it with our broadband provider. When we called the customer support line they were no help, so I did what most do and watched YouTube videos to assist me.

If you are buying this modem for new internet service make sure you have if fully hooked up before you perches some providers take a couple weeks to turn on. You don't want the 14 day return policy to expire and it not work.

The Netgear DSL modem provides a reliable and relatively easy to configure connection to the Internet.
The Good:
1. The web interface is pretty easy to configure
2. Detailed diagnostics via the web interface
3. Reliable connection, does not need to be rebooted very often
The Not Good:
1. The web interface is painfully slow, especially the "Automatic Internet Set-Up"
2. The DSL status light does not provide any indication when activity is present.
3. The "quick start" guide that comes with the modem is pretty worthless. Downloading the "User Guide" from the Netgear website makes the set-up much easier.

Not user friendly
When you set this up
You need to know your username and password provided to you from frontier
For internet service
It is not your email address and password
Very unfriendly setup and most of the time you end up calling their support group overseas
Also when you reboot or loose power to router
You have to do the connection setup all over again
Getting to communicate with frontier may take 20 minutes
A real pain
It may be best to stick with the frontier router as u never have the reboot connection issue
Also they only give 90 days support
After this your out of luck

Product was returned due to our internet system was not compatible with this particular Netgear product. Be sure to pair your modem with your current phone company.

This DSL modem works as expected and was surprisingly easy to configure. Just plugged and in and the NetGear Genie app configured properly for my CenturyLink DSL account.

I had problems with my ISP, that was at no fault to the modem. I would recommend setting up with your computer and an ethernet cable for the fastest and easiest setup. Works well with my belkin wifi router, as well.

Have a great router that would slow down and we'd have to reset the modem because of the old one we had. This fixed all our problems, haven't had a problem since!

One of the last DSL modems worth buying left on the market. Had to reinvent the wheel to get it to talk to my one and only available provider, CenturyLink, but once I had it up and running, it works perfectly.

Works great easy to set up. I may have to get a range extender for my house size, although I moved it to the center of th house and I'm picking up better.

Great product- it works well- but definitely buy the Geek Squad installation. I spent 6 hours on the phone with Netgear's customer service line to finish installation, and I was not impressed.

I upgraded my wifi whole house, and choose this Netgear Modem to accompany my new router. Both are dramatically faster than my old combo unit.
