I had to switch back to my old modem because this modem kept losing the Internet connection. I had to restart the modem at least 5 times a day. I bought this modem hoping to get a little more speed but CenturyLink is the problem.

I had a modem then wifi router setup. I needed a simpler setup so went with this combo. for whatever reason this combo is worse in performance. i often cant get a good wifi signal in my room which only has 1 wall separating from the modem. less than 30 ft total. the last setup was solid at the same distance. so not sure what is going on.

I needed to replace an old 2-wire gateway modem(~12 years old) that was originally provided to me from AT&T due to intermittent connection issues. I decided to get this Netgear - Vdsl/adsl Broadband Dsl Modem as a direct replacement, thinking it would be plug and play, more or less. I started the provided "Genie" program to install the modem and found that it kept stalling out. I had to restart the installation process repeatedly getting further each time, but still not completing the installation. This caused a great deal of frustration, not knowing why it wouldn't complete. I couldn't figure out why it kept bombing out, but eventually it finished installing. To this day I do not know why it was so difficult. I would recommend NETGEAR review the installation process for this device and see if they can get it to work more smoothly, thereby avoiding any unnecessary returns of their product.

This has made my computer experience much faster than before.

I suppose the product is good because it's Netgear. However, I can't remember if I have VDSL or ADSL but whatever one I have doesn't work with this modem even though it's specified for both. Spent hours on the phone trying to sort it out and ended up buying used modem on CL.

Purchaswd for our new internet provider, but ending up returning aa the modem wouldn't work with the provider's environment. Not Best Buys fault, just something we didnt know to ask provider or best buy. Read bottom of box for things it doesnt support and know the providers specific environment before purchasing.

I live in a rural area and only have access to DSL internet. This type of modem was required when upgrading to 25mbps. Best Buy was the only place in a 100 mile radius that had one. Easy install and I was in business.

I have purchased several modems from AT@T and they were expensive,did not last long and were a pain to set up. The NETGEAR was a snap to set it up and stays on. It is still running and no problems.

I didn't want cable or a big utility bill form one of the telephone companies for things I would never use. I just wanted internet and the companies don't give you that as a option most of the time. So they can sell you big worthless packages. I just wanted internet and the Sales people helped me so fast it was wonderful. I just wanted reliable DSL to work with my low priced router. This is the match for my router. Perfect. Now I pay average $36 a month for internet. I have paid over $300 from a aaaaaaa company that i hate even more now. I saved with much better service then a list of companies with the NETGEAR - VDSL/ADSL Broadband DSL Modem. Thank you so much. I am very happy.

Need a new modem and this one meets all of my needs. Glad I purchased it.

We replaced an old modem/router combination with 2 seperate boxes. The modem was easy to configure, and has been stable since. The unit is reliable, extremely reliable, and a wonderful new asset.

I had a modem from my Internet service provider (CenturyLink) before, and it crashed so I bought this netgear modem. My wireless connection is far more stable than it ever was with my previous modem, and netgear has great service, making set up very easy

Location is rural and older landline and this works well with it
