We wanted to like it for the price , but the quality of the ice and the amount of ice that it makes couldn’t keep up with our demand. This item was returned and we purchased another brand that cost more but we are happy.

Design Flaw

The storage bin holds maybe 2 cups of ice before turning off (full). When you empty, the ice is extremely wet and if placed in the freezer, freezes together solid. Self-cleaning means that you have to run a cleaning cycle. I was very disappointed in this ice maker.

Definitely enough for our family of 4 for regular daily use. It does make some noise with the fan/ I wasn't prepared for that but assume other models are similar.

Disappointing Experience with the NewAir -26 lb Co

One prominent issue is the high level of noise it generates during the ice-making process. To mitigate this disturbance, I recommend placing the ice maker at a significant distance from your usual location if you are sensitive to the loud fan and machine crackling sounds. Furthermore, while the nugget ice produced by the machine is satisfactory, it lacks the desired soft and flaky texture found in fast food establishments such as "Sonic" or "Whataburger." Another drawback is the ice maker's limited ice production despite its claim of producing 26 pounds of ice. The quantity of ice it generates at a given time is quite small, contrary to the expectations set by the advertised capacity. The accompanying small spoon provided is barely sufficient for transferring ice into the intended container. One positive aspect worth mentioning is the ice maker's relatively fast production speed, allowing for quick ice generation and allowing you to turn it off right after to avoid prolonged exposure to the loud noise. Considering my overall experience, I must emphasize the difficulty in finding a small, portable ice maker of good quality below the price range of $500-600. I wish you the best of luck in your search.
