I bought this for my living room. I don't have an A/C in the living room. The A/C in my kitchen does a good job cooling the kitchen and dining room but lacks the cooling power and movement of air through living room even with ceiling fan. This is where the newair evaporative cooler came in handy for me. Make sure to freeze the two included ice packs well. Use both ice packs for best performance. Another note is pay attention to the max and minimum water level. When first filling tank and placing the unit on high you will notice the air level will automatically decrease to medium speed. This is temporary and will go to high speed after the unit pad completely gets wet. If not you can manually increase it to high speed after about 5 minutes. Overall this fan suites my needs as I wanted a fan for when enjoying a movie in living room I aim it directly to my body. If you are looking to replace an A/C you won't with an evaporative cooler even if you buy a large one. Great companion to an A/C.

I bought this cooler for summer use in hot humid New York. I didn’t want an AC because I didn’t want high electricity bills and I didn’t want to use chemicals. So far it’s been ok. It works well on dry, warm days. On hot and humid days (90s and Rh 65<) it’s more challenging. The high humidity means that I put the cooler on high fan and no evaporation but the humidity creates a coolness. It is spot coolness but it’s enough for me. In the evenings it’s cool enough that I use the window fan as well as the high fan on the cooler; it makes the bedroom surprisingly comfortable for sleeping. This cooler looks sleek, it’s light and so easy to move around, and simple to operate. I’m very happy with it.

I bought two of these, one for my sons room and one for my room. I live in southern California where it is more humid than dry weather. It still gets hot here and I didn't want to buy a portable AC unit since I feel it is a very inefficient way to cool a room AND boy does it draw juice from your electrical grid. My bill is much higher with a portable AC unit. However with these swamp coolers, even though we have 50 - 60% humidity this thing still can more than adequately cool your room. Now lets get one thing straight, the air that comes out is not AC cold air. No, when used properly, the swamp cooler pushes out cold ENOUGH air to keep you comfortable at night. It comes with ice packs which I thought was really good which helps keep the water very cold. I have been very satisfied with these purchases of swamp cooler.

I bought two of these online to use in bedrooms; liked small footprint & no need to window vent. Unboxed first one & it worked just fine, cooled room as expected & have used included ice packs on warmer days. Overall very pleased with unit. Then unboxed second one, plugged it in and it made horrible noise. Tried to turn off but “Off” button did nothing, had to unplug unit to stop it...very disappointed! Very easy return to local store; “Cameron” reordered replacement to be shipped for free to my home. Awaiting delivery & optimistic it will work like 1st one.

I purchased this a month ago. It has cooled my bedroom a least 8 degrees on a hot day. Just change the water daily, wipe off the container inside and use cold water to fill. Run the machine on low in cool at night. The water will last about 8 hours. Money well spent instead of a window attach A/C.

Cools better than a regular fan and you can add ice to the water so the air feels as good as an AC, you can also use the ice packs it comes with 2. The otner huge advantage over a window AC it's the fact that is has wheels and ypu can move it around the house. An extra plus it's very quiet. 5 stars for this fan.

I think that it was a good buy. I like it because I don't need to take a hose to the window and I can move it to any room that I want with no problem.

this product works as expected. Its not a game changer by any means but it keeps the room cool as long as you use the provided ice packs in the water tank. Lasts about 4 to 5 hours of cooling air. We have 2 of these placed in 2 different spots. When it gets hot we will use them. Mostly, we use them just to move air around.

Works great as a fan. If you live in humid areas such as I do it makes the air more humid. Did not cool the air as I expected.

Bought this unit to place inside my trucks camper shell for a long trip with our dog as an extra cooling option. It did not blow as cold as I was hoping for, but it did assist in the air circulation. It's also a little noisier than expected when using inside the house.

In comparison to my old Luma Comfort cooling fan is is a tad smaller, lighter and a little cheaper. I wish it blew colder air than my old Luma but it does blow longer without refilling and is a little quieter. Good buy.

This would be a fantastic product if I lived in the Southwest. Unfortunately, I live in Indiana, so when the humidity is above 70%, the cooler is a little ineffective.

I used to have the older model of this same cooler, it used to be a different brand called LumaComfort but this new brand, despite being the exact same model, is weaker. I still own the older model and the degree of cooling of it is stronger than this new model despite their CFMs being equivalent. Nonetheless, a life saver in the hot summers.

The evaporative cooler works good once the water pad is completely soaked. Works well with just cold water, but the two ice packs help a little bit more.

We bought this evaporative cooler when it got very hot this summer, and I couldn't seem to cool the house down at night. It was easy to set up. Now when the house thermometer says 75 degrees, I start "Luma" up, and it will keep the house at 75 (on low speed) even as temps go up to 90 outdoors. I suspect at a higher fan level, we could actually lower the room temperature, but we haven't tried that. We like it on low, and it's nice and quiet. In the evenings, I sometime roll it down the hall and cool off the bedrooms. We are entirely satisfied.
