Great camera but bad reliability

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this camera for a month and had it hardwire installed. 80% of the time it is good to go. The other 20% it is not working properly. The main issues I see is the camera will not focus correctly, so the video, if recording, is just bright white. Other issue I have seen is the camera freezes up. It does not record nor do the onscreen buttons do anything when pressed. When this happens I have to remove the camera and wait for the battery charge to die and then I can power it back up and it is good to go. Mobile app is really buggy, I do not even attempt to use it anymore. I just remove the memory card and download the videos needed onto my computer. Mostly a great camera, but I need reliability in the event something happens while driving and this camera is just too unreliable to count on.

Decent camera, but doesn't hold up to heat at all.

When it works, it's good. But it can't handle the heat at all. The first summer after i purchased this, I didn't bother to take it out of the windshield on hot days. It died within a month. Since then I have made a point to get it out of the windshield and into a shaded spot since it started getting warm. It's showing all the same symptoms as my previous copy before it bit the dust. If you live anywhere that gets above 70 degrees, don't buy this. Or plan to take in to the A/C with you.

Thank you for your review, I'm very sorry to hear that you experienced a problem.
All of our cameras are tested between -20'C (-4F) to +45'C (113'F), although if the car temperature exceeds this you could potentially experience issues. We'd recommend removing the Dash Cam and placing in the glove compartment when the Dash Cam is not in use to prevent it being unnecessarily heated on the windscreen. When storing the Dash Cam for an extended time period, store within the following temperature range: from 0° to 25°C (from 32° to 77°F).
Under the mount is a heat sync, so this is the part of the camera that will get warmest. It's nothing to worry about, they're designed to cope with the heat they produce.
