Never purchase nextbase again. Most expensive dash cam I purchase and only lasted a month. My 6 year old dash cam still working and I give it to my son the only problem is the built in battery is not working.

Camera works well however the suction cup will no longer stick to the windshield, after about 4 months the camera fell off my windshield and I can no longer use it. very frustrating considering the cost and now it can't be used.

As a truck driver there is too many variables in order to get camera to perform. Camera went dead after 4 months.

I loved everything about this cam until the 2nd or 3rd day and the screen blanked out. After some research on Google I found out it was due to overheating. If you live in an not so hot area or dont plan on leaving it in your windshield 24/7 I'd recommend it.

The Nextbase 522GW Dash Cam comes with camera, mount, cable fitting tool, extra sticky pad, micro usb cable, and car power cable. After unboxing I charged it for 2 hours as the instructions recommended. Then I updated to latest firmware to make sure I had the best experience. You will need a sd card but that's expected. I'm using the 64gb micro sd card that nextbase offers for compatibility reasons but I'm sure you can use others as long as they fulfill the speed requirements. It was pretty easy to mount in my vehicle. Just took a bit to find the best way to hide the cable. The magnetic mount is very strong. There is a option to add a additional cameras as well which I do not have. I can't speak on longevity yet but well see how it holds up over time with the summer heat and cold throughout the year. I found the interface is very easy to use and navigate. The camera turns on when you start your car and turns off after you stop it. Also has a internal battery so it can record even when your parked which is pretty cool. The battery does not last very long though so keep it plugged in. Since it has gps it has the option for speed recording, direction of travel, and location which is put into the video recording. These can be turned on/off as well. I like that it gives you the option to disable the screen while driving. I find it distracting while driving so kudos for the customizations. there is also a lock button you can press to lock the files so they don't get overwritten. There is a pc app as well as a mobile app. You do not need the app to setup or use the device but it does make using the device watching the videos way more convenient. Video quality is really good as you would expect in a camera that records in 2k resolution. You can adjust the lens as well if needed to change the viewing angle. You can also downgrade the resolution if you want to make the files smaller. I might be nit picking here but I do wish it was a tad bit smaller so it wasn't so noticeable in my window. You can clearly see I have a camera in the windshield. Also I wish it came with a suction cup mount too. Overall it works really well. You basically install it and forget about it until you need it. I feel better when driving knowing that I'm recording everything in front of me in case I need it for some reason.
