So far, so good. I have several cars with Dashcams that needed to be replaced, so chose the 522 for one. Installation of the driver seemed straight forward, however, make sure you have updated your smart phone and laptop (I have an iPhone 11 Pro) BEFORE you attempt to update the cam’s software (or download the accompanying desktop/laptop player). To get the iPhone to connect to the camera took a bit of effort, but once I got it, it seems fine. The software for the laptop seems to need an update, but works fine. I highly recommend you buy the hardwire kit to make your install more professional (no wires dangling). Also recommend you buy some adhesive wire clips (Amazon has plenty) to clean up any hanging wires. I also bought the rear cam. The magnetic mount was odd in that it took a little finagling to let the rear camera angle right — you’ll know what I mean when you install.

Very good quality dash cam. Both day and night. The wifi connection is a bit wonky and very slow. Talked with rep from nextbase but they blame sd card which is not. Always make sure to put a very good quality high speed sd card like class 10 U1.

Good camera. Doesn’t come with storage so you need to buy that separately. Setup was relatively easy. Stays attached to windshield which is sometimes a problem for these suction-type devices. Couldn’t get Alexa to work or I would have given it 5 stars.

Compared to my previous dash cam this one is SO much better! A lot pricer but worth the extra cost for sure. I love all the touch screen controls, it is very responsive when pressed on. I also love how the car mount uses a magnet so it sticks to the dash cam for easy in and out of your car. And when the dash cam is not connected to the car mount there is a magnetic cover that fits into the hole where the car mount would go to protect the area. The only thing I didn’t like is how slow it is to upload videos from the app but I’m sure that can be improved with a software update in the future and a better connection. As I type this review there is a new model out so check that out as well if you don’t mind spending extra money.

This camera is perfect in almost every way. The battery is just horrible. I've read many forums including reddit, companies troubleshooting, youtube, and even hundreds of reviews and I guess it's just a hit or miss (mostly miss) on the battery life issue. My problem is I plug it in to charge as instructed to my PC, a higher powered usb ac adapter, really anywhere for hours and even days one time but the charging indicator turns off within minues and it powers on showing a "full battery". Yet the battery dies within minutes, sometimes seconds of it being on. I even disabled parking mode, the battery issue is just terrible. It may be a future firmware fix, maybe the software that reads the battery's charge is faulty and thinks its full when it's not, or maybe it is hardware and the battery just isn't enough for this. Other than battery, I seriously recommend this camera!

Pretty standard dash cash, honestly the app integration was the worst. Was never able to view recordings on my phone even when I was connected to the camera, was a pain to get recordings off. I now have a viofo dash cam which I recommend

I thought it was a good idea to install a camera when my sixteen year old son got his license. This would allow us to see how well he is doing and in the event of an accident, to protect us from someone trying to take advantage of an inexperienced driver, and track the comings and goings of a college freshman. This camera was easy to install. About 10 minutes, reading the instructions. It works with the default settings immediately out of the box. We have been able to review our sons driving and verify where he goes. It has given us peace of mind that we can "see" him driving and can track where he is when he is away from home. Excellent product!

Kind of disappointed with the 522GW dashcam. Bought it last weekend. The mobile app and the camera itself have this glitchy way of connecting if you can figure out how to understand the glitches with the basic procedure of doing it. Confused yet? I am too. The battery when fully charged will only last 10 to 15 minutes if it's not being constantly charged. The battery will just drop.....quick! So be careful with that too. On a positive note it takes food quality video. About as good as what i would expect. It's real use is to not worry about connecting it to your phone. Connect it to the charger stuck to your windshield and let it connect when you start your vehicle. If you need to save a video take the card out and save it on your pc. That's the most beneficial part of this thing. Plus it also has a reset button for good reason. It locks up easy if you push too many buttons at a quick pace plus it gets warm quick. When that happens you have to push the reset button to start over and power it back up. More work than its worth in my opinion..

I about the Nextbase 522GW. This is my first dash cam, so I have nothing to compare it to. I went with this product after watching several YouTube channels on diff brands. I am satisfied with this dash cam. It’s pretty user friendly. I had some issues with the click & go pro mount. The customer service via chat was So helpful and professional. I sent a copy of my receipt, and they mailed me a new mount. The clarify is great. I can change options directly on the camera, or on my phone via Nextbase app. I am

I bought this to replace an older cam that was not holding a charge. The mount is not the best. When the car gets hot the suction cup will release. The tape that comes with it has the same issue. Due to how the mount is on the camera I have to jerry rig it to a rear view mirror mount. I keep getting a random memory card error. I thought I did my research but obviously missed some information. I gave it 3 stars due do durable it seems to be. It has take a number of falls onto my console and is still working.

Definitely one of the top dash cams out there. Expensive but worth it to protect yourself. Great recording quality and very easy to use. 3-inch touch screen is super easy to do initial set up and use. Had some issue doing the initial firmware update (wifi connection did not work, had to use cable). But once firmware is updated, smooth operating all the way around. Has Alexa capability if you need that. Big bonus for the add-on cabin and back cameras to provide that back view protection. Parking surveillance mode also works well.

Good camera and easy to use when you can figure it out. Had some issues connecting app to camera and still can’t get the nextbase camera to connect to this one. Overall satisfied just wish the software was slightly easier to use

According to my husband, this dashcam is so easy for anyone to setup/install in their vehicle, send videos to their phone/ email, and its also simple to transfer camera between vehicles (for example-if you decide to drive your wife's car or ride with someone, just plug it in and your set) We are also definitely impressed w/ quality of video playback! My husband was so excited to get this surprise for his birthday!!!

Great value. i previously purchased the GW322 and decided to move that over to my daily driver and upgrade to the GW522 in my car. I really like the resolution on this camera and its ease of use. My only complaint on either of these cameras the app is a little slow on downloading the higher resolution files (I’ve used other brand cameras and this was also a problem with them as well). Overall, very satisified with this purchase

I've had this camera now for almost two months and I couldn't be happier with the performance! Installation is simple and within minutes I was recording video. The quality is top notch and is zoom-worthy. Even night time recording in good conditions is excellent. I have mine set for recording at the longest time of three minutes, but they can seamlessly be put together if needed. My next purchase is the rearview camera. FIVE STARS and I highly recommend.

One of the best dash cams. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is its connection to the app. It works, but is a bit of a pain. This seems to be an issue with most every dash cam I’ve read reviews for. It’s not a deal breaker for me. I rarely use the app. The quality and use otherwise is top notch.

Camera records very clear however the app is giving me trouble and the camera wi-fi does not appear to work.

I use this in my truck to protect against road ragers, which are more and more frequent. So far, anything I've wanted to capture has been easy to get using the big red button. Occasionally the camera wants to re-format the SD Card, so make sure you move your videos to your phone (if you want to keep them) pretty often. App works great and I LOVE the modular camera that films out the rear of my truck...so much easier than buying multiple cameras.

I had my dash cam installed 3/10/21. I was hit by a red light runner in my car on 3/28/21 and my dash cam suddenly became more valuable to me than any amount of gold!! My dash cam captured everything perfectly from my speed, the color of MY traffic light, the color of the other cars' traffic light clearly showed as being RED. There were 3 witnesses to this horrific car crash, and all 3 witnesses gave different accounts. None of them were accurate!! I assured the police officer that I have a dash cam. The look of relief was all over his face when he visited my husband and I in the ER soon after the crash. As soon as my husband showed the police officer my dash cam footage, he immediately said, "thank you SO MUCH for this evidence. I'm going into the red light runner's ER room right now to issue HIM a citation for running a red light". I am soooooo grateful that I had this dash cam that saved my side of the story and I would highly recommend it to anyone who drives a vehicle. I actually purchased 3 of these for Christmas gifts in 12/2020, but I waited a few months before I finally decided to have it installed earlier this month.

Camera works well with good video. It was disappointing it did not come with even a basic sim card. The instructions are printed on black multi pages and were little help. Using the app worked well and took care of questions. There was a price drop a few days after I made purchase and Best Buy credited me the difference when I called customer service. It appears solidly built at a decent price but only time will tell if it holds up under use.
