easy to install, good quality built, and video is superb

Set up was quite easy, charge battery, plug in, mount to windshield and it works. Videos are large in size but very good quality. The pictures are of good contrast too, the polarizer lens helps with glare. And the sale price was $50 off.

I replaced a Thinkware F200 Pro dash cam with this NextBase one. The NextBase is amazing. Five stars because the company requires the use of a NextBase SD card to record any video. Use of other cards will cause data loss, stuttering video or even freeze the dashcam up entirely. This dashcam will automatically call 911 for an ambulance when it detects an impact that is likely a crash, such as going over a speed bump or driving on an unpaved road with potholes. It won't give you the option to contact police in the event of a real crash. You have to manually call 911 for that.

Have not used all the features but so far I am very satisfied with basic functions of this dash cam and video quality.

I've bought two of these cameras. One in in Nov 2019 for my wife's car. It has worked flawlessly and with a SanDisk Pro 64gb SDXC card. No issues whatsoever. Picture quality is fantastic. This gave me confidence to purchase another camera in May 2020 for my own vehicle. The 2nd camera I purchased has been problematic in that it shuts itself off or freezes (gets stuck on the blue Nextbase screen) after working for a few weeks. Then it won't power back on for several days or even weeks. Then it just randomly comes back on and starts working again. I've been in touch with Nextbase several times now and they advised me to buy their hardwiring kit. I did. Installed it and had the solid blue light indicating input/output was good. Camera still turns off randomly. I bought a PNY - 128GB Elite-X Class 10 U3 V30 microSDXC Flash Memory Card to replace the SanDisk Pro 64gb SDXC and see if that was the issue. Nope. Still does it. Tried clearing out the memory cache manually once a week. Reformatted the card. Hit the reset button. Nothing has fixed this recurring issue. Contacted Nextbase AGAIN to see if they'll replace what is obviously a faulty unit. Nope. They said I need to buy THEIR microSD card as all others might not be capable of handling such a high performing camera. What a bunch of bull. So take your chances if you want to roll the dice and see if you get a unit that works. Or doesn't. Just don't expect Nextbase to do anything about it.

I can say the video quality was good. That is really about it with this camera. I had it for 3 months and found that almost nothing worked correctly. I regularly found it had stopped recording and only way to get it to start again was the reset button. If I needed to transfer videos off the camera it meant pulling the memory card, attempting to do it via the built in WiFi would mean the camera would restart it self midway through the process EVERY TIME and I would have to start the process over again. A dash cam needs to be reliable and just work. This camera can not be called reliable. I have upgraded to a different brand dash cam now.

Bought this dash cam as a gift for my dad. It’s super easy to install, but the app connection was a little janky (mainly because my dad’s phone had large text settings and it’s an iPhone 6, which might explain it). Besides the minor initial set up issue, the product works great and I’d recommend it

This camera is so easy to install. Quality and clear video. I bought it on Sale Price which good.

Great image. Easy setup. The only thing is that it seems very difficult and takes a long time to download videos, even when connected to wifi. The interface to even browse videos is a little bulky. Overall, glad to have it.

Super easy to use and the best part is I don’t have to offload or delete footage to save space. It just writes over what’s already there. Nice clear picture, love it!

This dash cam has good picture quality and is easy to use. You can add a rear camera or a camera to view the inside of your car. I have the dash cam and bought the camera for the rear glass. They work great for my work commute.

Camera quality is good. App was not as hard to connect as some reviews suggested but wasn’t supper intuitive either. Overall it is a good product with lots of ability to add in cab and rear facing cameras.

By far one of the best Dash Cams available for a great price. Does the job and easy to use. You don’t need the 4K 622 this 522 does the job for $200 less. Great picture.

Maybe because I am new to dash cams but I think this dash cam is not user friendly. I am still figuring out how to set it up. For some reason this dash cam does not power off. I have referred back to the user manual many times and gone to you tube for set up tips. Still does explain how to power off. When playing back clips on the down load program for Nextbase the clips are jumpy but very clear. It is very easy to take still pictures while driving. I’m hopeful after some use I will have mastered this dash cam. I do recommend this dash cam at this time in my review but that may change after more use. Stay tuned.

We purchased this item and the rear facing camera as well. In todays world a dash cam is a must. It took us a while finally open the item and set it up but we are happy with the quality so far!

The NextBase 522GW dash cam is great. A lot of features. Take good videos day or night. Will record sound as well. Also support Alexa. You download an iPhone app ( or Android) as well as a desktop application to edit or Join Videos.

Bought 3 cameras for cars. Had problems with 2 and had to replace one of them. Picture is great. App for camera only works when you are in the car next to camera.
