I absolutely adored this game and so far it has been my favorite game of 2018. The narrative follows young king Evan and his friends as they attempt to unite and build upon a kingdom called Evermore. Evan and his friends visit beautiful lands in their adventure, and the gorgeous Ghibli visuals make the game bright and colorful. The gameplay is relatively easy but is a blast to play. The narrative is actually quite strong and was quite addictive to play at times. Overall I loved the game and would love to recommend this to anyone who loves JRPGs.

It's got charming characters and a good story about forgiveness and ruling with kindness. The combat is fluid and there's a decent amount to do and see in the world map. I appreciate being able to toggle between Japanese and English voices and changing some controller mapping. This is a good game for casual and more intense players I think. Bosses are cool and you can choose different fighter types. Only problem I really have is not being able to do bulk operations when crafting or leveling up buildings but eh.

If you ever played the first or even if you haven't, this game was a blast to play. So many different styles of game play you can explore. While it can be difficult at times, if you take your time & enjoy the game, you'll eventually get the hang of it. The art style & music is top notch as well. If you're a casual RPG fan, you'll love this as well. Highly recommended.

This game is pretty entertaining, the visuals and production vales are great. Yet it feels like this game has its target audience set in stone for kids, thus the story and gameplay can be quite simple. Everything's fine as is, except for a sort of army minigame that isn't quite as good as everything else in the game, it also has a kingdom building mode which I liked a lot. Took me about 30 hours to finish the main story, but it has a lot of side content, with everything else I clocked in about 80 hours.

I didn't play the 1st Ni No Kuni. Purchased this game when it was on sale, and after playing it, I would've gladly played full price. Combat is fun. However, even on Expert mode it sometimes is a little easy, but it does not take away from the fun. Some of the enemy encounters later become difficult if you are underleveled. The kingdom building is also fun as you can research many things to help you on your journey. Overall a very fun game. I am about 40 hours in and continue to enjoy it.

This game is something I have been waiting for since its first announcement. After putting quite a substantial amount of time into it and completing the game, I came to the conclusion that there aren't many Role Playing Games out there such as Ni no Kuni II. It has a unique art style similar to the Studio Ghibli films and the story definitely has its fair share of twists and turns. If you're into games with expansive worlds and exploration, this game is just for you.

This game is beautiful and plays great! It has a BoTW look and feel. Not as good as BoTW but good. I play it on PC and it’s beautiful. Story so far is a little weird but it’s ok. The fighting mechanics are a little odd. The victories so far are too easy. I don’t know if it’s a setting or not but I destroy everything I face. Quickly. So it can be good to progress. Overall, it’s a great buy. Especially if on sale.

Part action RPG, part RTS, part city building sim, it has something for everyone. The only downside is that Studio Ghibli wasn't involved in this game like the first, so even though the art style is the same, it loses some of the presentational quality with a lack of animated cutscenes and voice acting. Players of the first will notice, but if you haven't played the first, then you would be very pleased.

Ni No Kuni II has you playing as Evan, a King trying to create a new country where war doesn't exist. You'll meet companions along your journey as you fight the forces of evil. The game is absolutely gorgeous with its stylish animated and colorful look and combat is all in real time. It's very simple but yet satisfying when you pull off spells and defeat hordes of enemies. Highly recommend.

It's not as lush and fascinating a world as the original Ni No Kuni, but there are far worse ways to spend a few dozen hours. The battle system is more akin to Action RPGs a la Kingdom Hearts than the predecessor, which is either a pro or a con for different people. The story is rewarding if not terribly original and the characters are similarly satisfying without being amazing.

A sequel to what alot of people consider a great rpg for the PS3, this studio Ghibli inspired rpg has a bit of a more mature setting and tone but no one would argue that the tone is still very childish. The battle system is more of an action rpg style but the kingdom building mechanic is wonderfully done. I didn't like the first game because of the tone of it. This one is much better

Story wise this game hits the mark but doesn't quite hit the same height as the magical adventure that part 1 was. It more than makes up for it with an incredible reimagined battle system and enough depth and engagement with its wonderful kingdom system and plethora of beautiful environments and side quests that keep the game entertaing from start to finish. In short. It's dope AF!

While not as immersive as its predecessor, this game still has a vibrant and unique art design. You are able to build your kingdom, enlist citizens, train spirits to fight, and command an army into battle. This is all on top of the more traditional RPG aspects of the game. Ultimately, this game is good not great. But for those who enjoy RPGs, it is worth the price of admission.

It's good as the first one, but in different ways. The main story is very easy difficulty wise. It doesn't get difficult until post game in the secret dungeon. The game has elements of other games like little king story, pikmin, tales games, and kingdom building. I felt that this game is as close as we'll get to a modern Suikoden game with 100+ citizens to recruit.

Ni no Kuni 2 improves over its predecessor in almost every way: it's more polished, the gameplay is more refined and has a good pace, and the story would look good in a Studio Ghibli production. Ni no Kuni 2 is an absolute joy to watch and to play, it's deep yet not complicated, and a true and genuine JRPG.
