This game is beautiful. The soundtrack is the best in gaming. Very memorable story and combat that is simple but difficult to master!

The remake to Nier: Gestalt took a good game that was overlooked due to it's clunky combat and turned into a great remaster. Don't let the multiple endings and playthroughs fool you as you'll be able to skip a bunch of the early game to save time as you replay the game a total of 5 times to see all the endings. For those who only played Nier: Automata, you'll also discover the tragic backstory of Popola and Devola and answer any questions you have remaining from them.

It's a great game and a great remaster. Just be prepared for some systems were originally made for the PS3. It does take some work to get the endings you want the effort is satisfying in the end. I personally got every ending except c. Nier makes you feel things. Though honestly the best part is doing the side quests just to get characterization. It's just honestly the best example of telling a good story through game mechanics.

Great game. You have to play through it a few times to see all the endings, but it was fun.

I like the game. The story is immersive, the music is beautiful. As I understand this Nier Replicant is a remaster of the japanese version of the PS3 game with the addition of a good English voice-over (you can still choose Japanese voices). It's a PS4 game without PS5 patches (yet?), so don't expect the newest dualsense rumbling features in all their glory when playing on PS5 with the dualsense controller.

For those who liked Nier Automata, like dark stories or like fast paced gameplay, this is the game for you. The game is a remaster of the original Nier, but instead of being a father to Yonah you are her brother. You have to save her from a disease and later meet Kaine and Emil. The gameplay was changed to be more like Nier Automata and the story is absolutely worth playing this game.

The game itself is a masterpiece of story telling, character interaction, and now (with this remake) combat. And no other franchise digs deeper into important existential questions like NieR. With that aside, ordering from Best Buy was probably the best decision when it comes to pre-ordering. I got the game a day early and within the same week that I initially ordered. Overall, great service.

One of the best games I played this year the characters are engaging the gameplay is phenomenal and the side quests they're okay but if I had to give this game a rating it be a 9.5 out of 10... And oh yeah the graphics are good but not great and another thing is the music is is something else entirely it's probably one of the best video game soundtracks that I've ever heard.

For fans of the NieR series, NieR Replicant ver. 1.22.. is probably the definitive way to experience the original NieR gestalt/replicant story & game. For fans of NieR Automata, the improved gameplay is quite reminiscent of Automata as well. Overall, this game is a must play if only for the absolutely phenomenal soundtrack.

Nier Replicant is a remastered version of the original 2010 release. It's a one-of-a-kind prequel of the critically-acclaimed masterpiece NieR:Automata. With updated graphics and a story that's hardly predictable, you'll definitely want to keep playing to discover its secrets.

I remember this game on my Xbox when it came out. Sure I got the Daddy version of the story, but the cutscenes and everything about this game already captived me the moment Kaine's opening intro started on screen in 2009. Now they decided to revive my past gaming memories and I'm here for it! I was already invested with this series before Automata came into the picture, but to have the original at least fixed up in the fighting gameplay was enough for me to grab this up. I'm not going to put out spoilers, that's Youtube and every spoiler game guide on the internet to do that for you. If you already did a complete playthrough of Automata and Genocide Undertale, then you know what you are going to put up with. You might need those tissues for the onion ninjas visiting your house during those playthroughs.

If you enjoyed Nier Automata, you should enjoy this one too. It’s not the same exact gameplay-wise but it’s similar. This is a remake of the original that came out for the PS3. It’s nice and the music is phenomenal. Just taper your expectation on graphics, it’s not bad but it’s not going to be your PS5/Xbox Series X quality.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I haven't finished the game. Music is fantastic, gameplay is frantic but stylish, and characters seem to have personality. BUT. This is essentially the same game released in the west years ago. Just the version with a young MC. And back then it didn't get the hype it deserved. I definitely recommend almost the entire series (sorry drakengard games) because of the soundtrack and gameplay alone. The characters are just a really nice bonus.

(Deduct one full star if not already a fan of the franchise) NieR Automata is among my top 5 games of the last decade, even though there are some questionable design choices. NieR Replicant has even more questionable design choices, and only the beginnings of many of the elements that make Automata brilliant. But it is still a very interesting story (similar themes as Automata, obv) with good writing and some fun, if repetitive, action gameplay.

If you want something weird and depressing, you should give it a try. It's like an older 3D Zelda game, but way more of an emphasis on combat than puzzles. The music hits HARD, too.

The first NieR game remastered. Plays well and tells the story just as great as the original. Worth a buy.
