This new remaster of the original cult classic "Nier" is such a wonderful, albeit soul crushing example of story telling in video games. What's presented within the narrative, characters, and especially the soundtrack of Nier Replicant will move you in unexpected ways and make you fall in love with the world creative director Yoko Taro has crafted. There are some dated game design choices here, but those are made up for by all the other elements of Nier Replicant.

Must play Nier game if youve played autoamata. Pretty good Nier game better than playing on the PC cause less framerate issues.

This is a remake/remaster of one of my favorite video games of all time. It's much prettier this time around and has a lot of quality of life improvements that make combat less tedious and frustrating. If you've never played the original NieR you should pick this up! The game is so beautiful, the characters, the music, the tragic stories. A timeless classic

As a big fan or NieR Automata, I always wanted to go back and play the original NieR but it being only on PS3 was a bit of a roadblock. This updated version for PS4/PS5 is a great opportunity for fans of NieR A to jump into the original with its update graphics and combat. The visual look great and the sound track is mesmerizing. I really enjoyed how the game and story evolve with each play through. Overall a great game.

After having played Nier: Automata, I was interested in trying out another entry in the series. While this game delivers some of the same things Automata does, it falls extremely short in others. Some gameplay mechanics felt extremely dated, and at times I found myself struggling to remain interested in the story. If you’re a fan of the series, you may enjoy this release, but newcomers may struggle with some of the more outdated and tedious systems.

Really slow going at the start. Felt like I got into the first one much faster as the game started at a sprint. This game has a bunch of slow story & side missions early on. Still waiting to get hooked in...

great game play and awesome soundtrack when i was playing this game

Really enjoyed Nier Automata. Music in this is great and the gameplay is smooth. The visuals on my ps5 are just ok. There needs to be a 4k patch, the game looks aliased.

So if you do not know who Yoko Taro is, he makes his games super depressing but with a fantastic story and gameplay that wants you to keep playing. Nier is an action JRPG that brings me back to the N64 Zelda games in world size. Small world, but just enough there to not feel repetitive. Overall if you like action RPG games and are looking something a bit more action oriented, check this game out.

Having a lot of fun with Replicant. Bought this after beating Automata. This game brings back so much memories, and shares many similar fighting mechanics. The music score is top notch. Characters are interesting and memorable. There are many side quests to do. As I play through the game, I am surprised by how it is linked to Automata's story. The only downside of the game is that the graphics somehow feel like a HD remaster of a PS3 game. However, the fun factor and music in this game more than overcomes its minor shortcomings.

I've just finished ending A and if you're a fan of Nier Automata, of if you'd like to get into the series this is... by all means a perfect starting point. The visuals and voice acting were both top notch and I loved every minute that I spent playing the game. I never had the chance to play the original so I can't compare to that, but I found this experience thoroughly enjoyable.

I played Nier Automata on a whim and it ended up being an all time favorite of mine. While this game doesn't live up to that (I didn't expect it to, but knew I would still enjoy it), it is still a great JRPG in its own right. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get more NIER in their gaming lives or for people who missed out on Automata and want to start somewhere.
