Compact and Easy to Setup

This system comes with everything you need and is compatible with other night Owl components that you can add should you desire. My only beef is you need a hard wire connection to the internet which forced me to put the NVR (essentially the base station) a little further away from the camera units than I would have preferred. None the less, once that was done everything else was easy. Download the app then plug in the base station. The app will find the device and then you can add cameras one by one. You do need to do this pairing step with the cameras nearby but once that is completed you can move them into the positions you desire. Another small issue is that the power cables for the cams are about 9 feet long. This is shorter than other units I have used and in my older house I don't have many convenient outlets. The option to use an extension cord is ok, but I am leery about having a power brick plugged in outdoors without some protection from the elements. On the other hand this allows for a much more inexpensive unit than ones that have battery power. The app gives you full control of each camera or device independently and is easy to use. I was able to read a license plate from over 25 feet away both during the day and night. Mounting the cams is easy with the included hardware. All in all, this is a very cost effective way to achieve secure monitoring of your property.

Worst System you could buy.

Initial setup downloaded at 20% then stopped and gave an error message. Also, the hard drive was unable to recognize its own devise. I needed to set up for the purpose of Thanksgiving weekend, and now it's just a waste of $400.00. What a disappointment.
