This is a great choice for home security

Starting off on a bad foot but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I set everything up a couple weeks after I received it and right away within a couple of hours at wanted me to do a firmware update. So I said yes and after it finished updating I couldn't see the cameras and the pictures on my phone or my TV or the app anywhere. I did a chat with the night owl supports team online and they talked me through some troubleshooting and decided that they believed it was a hardware issue in the DVR. They sent me an e-mail two return the DVR using the warranty and they said they would send it back to me when it was fixed but I haven't even been able to find a box in the mail it off yet and that was a few days ago. I'm worried about my safety because I like to have my cameras working all the time and recording while I'm not home.

Easy to set up.

App for the phone is easy to use. Just wish it came with a keyboard. The picture here is standard definition and just a picture of the screen. The images are much clearer than this

Does what its ment to do

It kicks your device out every week or two and you have to uninstall and reinstall the app and re connect the cameras. Otherwise they work as described. I think just their presence was enough to deter a lot of issues.

Installation however, was literally an all day job and very difficult and the cameras themselves do not provide a lot of range. Overall I would recommend this product.

Posted .Hi Cosmos. Thank you for the review! We do provide an InstallerNet card for those customers who would like professional installation, for an additional fee. Running the cables can be quite tedious, but well worth the added security measure of a hardwired system.
