    Amazing 'Kit' Lens

Largely considered a kit lens, but don't let that stereotype sway you. All the Z lenses are top shelf, and this one is no exception. A modest zoom that's useful in most situations, the solid f/4 aperture means no fiddling with higher zoom shots where your stop has crept up into the f/6+ territory. Your alternative for a good starting lens might be the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 for a bit more range, or maybe the 35mm or 50mm f/1.8 if you like to stay close and prime. Either way, this should be part of any flexible kit.

Nikon Z lens's are no joke. This f4 lens is so close to my 24-70 z 2.8 in image quality and performance. Much smaller and lighter, great color and sharp! Great option for my z9 when i don't need 2.8 and want to save weight and size.

This lens was included in the Z6 package i purchased and i am very happy with it so far. It connects directly to the camera, so there is no adapter needed. It's a versatile lens and all around asset to my photographic needs. I definitely recommend its purchase.

    Great first kit lens

This lens is a no brainer if you are buying it as a kit lens. It is sharper than the 24-200 and offers a constant f4 aperture. While the two lenses compete at similar price points, this is a better choice when bundled because of a better discount. With the new Z 24-120 f4 being anounced yesterday, it might be worth waiting for that, but make no mistake about it, this is a great lens.

Recently bought but so far, so good. This is a great lens to keep on camera and use for travel. It's fairly light and not to clumpy. Picture details come out fairly well. I wouldn't use it for portraits, but for an all around, daily carry lens for some impromptu snaps and planned travel, this is perfect! Definitely a lens you could keep on camera if you have a telephoto lens and prime lens in the bag already. Definitely worth buying, especially on sale

Very sharp lens. My only complaint is that it is f4 which is fine as long as you have plenty of light. I would buy the 2.8 if you can afford it, its alot more expensive.

This lens gives a good amount of versatility for the price. Of course if you want better low light, one should go with the f2.8, but coupled with the Z6II you can really push the iso to help out.

The lens is excellent. BUT IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. Because the adjustment thread is larger than my camera. I returned it and they charged me more than 100 dollars. ???? How was I going to realize that it was of no use to me if I didn't try??? And opened the box. I'm upset with Best By for that.

Good lens compared with the price. I ended up to upgrade to 24-70 2.8 due to the low light requirement. But it is still great lens for any occasion.

I used this lens for few days but evetually returned. Couple of reasons. BB claims lens has VR in the description but this lens does not have a VR. You have to fall back on the camera stabilizer. That's not a bummer though because Z cameras have really good stabilizers but I felt lens wih VR image stabilizes better than a zoom lens without VR. 2nd reason is the lens is not worth the price $1000. Better use a FTZ if you have a AF-S zoom lens lying around. I have a 18-105 AF-S lens old lens and I did not find much difference in photo quality unless you zoom and try to locate aberration which most average photographers don't do. For novice photographers save money for a prime lens and for now use a Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm zoom lens which will satisfy you considering the value for money.

Although the build quality is good, this lens does lack the 'oomph' of the non-kit Nikkor lenses. For someone picking up a first lens for the Z system, though, the value is hard to argue with. A very usable lens.

Versatile lens for all-around shooting. Great for Landscape and group outdoor shooting. Pairs well with my Nikon Z7. I particularly like the lock feature on the lens which allows for better and safer storage when on the camera body, and not using.
