Customers regard the AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Standard Lens highly for its image quality, affordability, and performance in low-light conditions. Many found it easy to use, and appreciated its lightweight design. However, some users noted challenges with the manual focus mechanism, particularly its speed. The lens's value proposition is strongly emphasized in customer feedback.

I have to say this is a truly amazing product. I've always have Nikkor G lenses, but this D lens has an outstanding range and autofocus properties for the Nikon dslr's that have autofocus motor capabilities. In my opinion, a far outstanding product over the G lens for an $100 less price tag.

I have only used this lens a few times, but I am very happy with it. I ordered it for taking pictures in low light and it does well in these situations.

Takes nice shots from a classic lens. Keep in mind this is not an afs lens with a built in motor so it will not work with all cameras and it will focus slower.
Cost plus performance this lens is hard to beat

I purchased this lens to use as a prime and wanted something like the old film lens from Nikon in the hope image quality that mirrored that of film days.I was not disappointed,in fact it met all my expectations plus AF was an added bonus.

I needed a lens to shoot 8th grade basketball. This worked fine as I was able to get close to the floor. Of course its not a 500mm 2.8 but I can see where it will come in handy in the future as well. You just can't beat this price!

I purchased this lens because I wanted a 50MM prime lens. The picture quality is great and I really like the large aperture. The lens itself does not auto-focus but my camera has an auto-focus motor built into it. This is a great lens for a low price.

Great lens. I ended up trading it in for the 1.4 because of the lower light capability. I needed the 50mm 1.4 for shooting in very dark situations. The 1.8 was fast and very sharp after 2.8.

for an AF lense this is very nice, i have a camera for AF-S and therefore the focus is manual. it will look good in the viewer, but slightly blurry on the screen, probably my eyes, but the AF-S lenses always look good.

This was one of the finest lenses that I own. I get good image quality. You can buy it eyes closed. highly recommended.
I would have given 5 stars if it were not for the plasticy feel to the otherwise great camera lens.

I don't know much about my Dslr but it makes my photos look amazing! Looks cheap but it does the job you want or are looking for with a low fs. Money well spent on this baby!
