Takes nice shots from a classic lens. Keep in mind this is not an afs lens with a built in motor so it will not work with all cameras and it will focus slower. Cost plus performance this lens is hard to beat

I purchased this lens to use as a prime and wanted something like the old film lens from Nikon in the hope image quality that mirrored that of film days.I was not disappointed,in fact it met all my expectations plus AF was an added bonus.

I purchased this lens because I wanted a 50MM prime lens. The picture quality is great and I really like the large aperture. The lens itself does not auto-focus but my camera has an auto-focus motor built into it. This is a great lens for a low price.

solid prime lens for Nikon FX

This is a high quality prime lens for a Nikon DSLR FX (full size sensor) body. It is the equivalent of a 75MM fixed focus lens on a DX body (I shoot a D7000), so don't expect to get wide angle shots. However, the resolution is very high and chromatic aberration is very low, even on a DX camera. You can't beat the price and this lens is ideal for super high res portrait photography. I love the f1.8 maximum aperture and focus is very fast and accurate.

Great lens. I ended up trading it in for the 1.4 because of the lower light capability. I needed the 50mm 1.4 for shooting in very dark situations. The 1.8 was fast and very sharp after 2.8.

This was one of the finest lenses that I own. I get good image quality. You can buy it eyes closed. highly recommended. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for the plasticy feel to the otherwise great camera lens.

This little lens is great for dark shots and family photos. It lacks autofocus, but that is not a huge deal if you know your camera and shot.

I like this lens a lot because it did exactly what anyone buying a 50mm would it to do. On the D810 Images were super sharp similar to the 35mm lens (same type)
