Lets start off with 4 stars. Only 4 stars due to the plastic mount. Why Nikon uses plastic... I do not know. I needed a more wide shooting experience to use along with my sigma 17-55mm and this one finally came out at this amazing price. I am using it in D3300 and have amazing results. Only set back is the f4.5 just not as fast as I would want as I am so used to f2.8, but comparable lenses are too expensive for just a hobbyist. The lens is super LIGHTWEIGHT. Almost feels like I do not have a lens on at all. I am noticing Nikon going more lightweight on everything, but I would honestly prefer the metal mount and more quality than lighter weight. This lens is very little and allows you to use smaller cases that make wide angle shooting more portable. I do notice a very small small amount of fisheye at 10mm, but if you take the shot correctly, you will not have a problem. Add this lense to your collection and you will not be disappointed.

Bought this lens for my Nikon D7500. The kit lens that came with it did not have a true wide angle. I love shooting landscape and other outdoor shots as well as family group shots. This lens fits the bill perfectly. The images are sharp and it focuses quickly and effortlessly. I also like its light weight and length. The DX lenses are more reasonably priced than the FX lenses. I know that there are some trade offs respecting aperture capabilities but the camera’s sensor has excellent light sensitivity. I took photos of a family group shot in front of a celebratory anniversary cake and the image was excellent. Wouldn’t have been possible without a wide angle. The fact that it is a zoom is a real bonus. It’s a great buy.

I wouldn't even call my self an amateur photographer, I am just a guy with a Nikon camera who likes to take decent photos on vacations and this little lens does not disappoint. My first time using this was a dual trip to Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon and the photos I got from this lens were incredible. WE even took one of the photos and put it on a 24" x 30" Canvas for the living room. I am sure this lens pales in comparison to the Thousand dollar lenses, but for the average person I highly recommend this lens

Really gave my creativity a boost! The widest lens I had was 18mm, so going to 10 was a huge change for me. I did not expect a lot from a lens at this price but I bought it so that I could take family group photos at the holidays and the occasional interior shot. I took it out for practice and was amazed at the quality of the images. This is a very versatile lens and well worth the cost. I'm a hobbyist not a pro.

I really like this lens for its ability to bring in the "edges" in a room. I have used it a lot with group photos when you are in small spaces and you want to get everyone in and it doesn't distort them. Although you can get right on top of the subject and get some pretty warped pictures! It has a pretty good F-stop control so I never have had to resort to the flash even in pretty bad lighting. It also is good at outside landscape type scenery, it doesn't bend the landscape but brings more of the horizon into view.

I had the two kit lenses, then the 35mm prime, and now this wide angle. The prime is the sharpest lense, but this wide angle is a close second. Other wide angle lenses are double to triple the price. It makes a different sound than kit lenses, but not louder, and focuses fast and smoothly. Great value in P-class lense. Read lots of reviews before buying. Nikon quality, and very lightweight, Don’t need those more expensive lense for entry level D3400 dslr, and can still get great pics. Would highly recommend, can’t go wrong. Read all the reviews and trust this great little lense.

So I honestly meant to return this lens, but the return period got past me. I’m so incredibly unsafisfied with this lens, I’m not sure if I got a dud or if they’re all like this. I’m not seeing pin sharp in any focal lengths or any points of the lens. I honestly get better results with my 18-55 kit lens than I do this. Maybe after my awesome 85 I just expected too much, but I wish I listened to everyone telling me to get the sigma. This is about cell phone quality, every photo I take. I didn’t expect anything amazing for $300, but I expected better than my iPhone.

This is the first wide angle lens I’ve owned. I purchased it about a month ago and just used it on a trip to Ireland. It takes amazing photos with excellent color. The reason I gave it a 4/5 was because it has a pretty decent fisheye effect when zoomed out that only noticed once I got back home to look at the photos on my computer. I’m not sure if this is how every wide angle lens acts, but it was something I wasn’t expecting to this degree. Other than that, I love the lens!

Great alternative for wide angle photography. Lets you get the job done without having to pay 1k+ for the other wide angle lenses. Make sure to check camera comparability to avoid a restocking fee. I bought it for an old Nikon 3100 and it did not work. Upgraded to a Nikon z6 and used it with the lense adapter and the pics are great. Downside is it has no manual or auto switch.

When I put in my Nikon camera model and wide angle lens, this is the lens that came up. I purchased and put on my camera and everything was blurry. I thought it was something that I had done. Further investigating, this lens doesn't work with my model AND a bunch of other Nikon models. Even the rep as Best Buy asked what models does the lens work with. So I'm sure the lens is fine, but double check compatibility more than just on the website.

I have been wanting a wide angle lens since I purchased my Nikon D3300, but they were too expensive. This one is perfect. It takes great photos for real estate. I could pay $300 one time for this lens or pay a photographer $300 for each listing, I prefer buying this. A few tweaks in Lightroom and Photoshop and I am done. Very happy!

I am an amateur photographer; still growing, still learning, but without unlimited resources. I have a standard portrait lens, a macro and now this. This inexpensive provides great shots once the user understands what wide angle means and how to use it.

Amazing lens. High-quality result for a less money. Make sure that your camera is compatible. Even it is designed for DX cameras, my D7100 has limited compatibility and producing heavy vignetting with close up shots no matter if it is build up or mounted flash. But otherwise highly recommend.

This lens has allowed me to increase the amount of group and scenic photographs taken with my D3400 camera. As someone building my photography knowledge base, I find this lens as an appropriate learning instrument. It should also be noted that it was fairly affordable.

This is my first wife angled lens and I have no regrets in the purchase. I got this right before a trip to the Grand Canyon, and it helped me take some amazing shots. Daytime and at sunset, capturing the beautiful red glow of the rocks.

this is a nice lens to have however it is not compatible with all nikon cameras - notice the aps designation - the auto focus did not work with my camera - my lenses need to be afs I did not realize this until I I bought this lens - will have to return it so check compatibility before you buy it

Plastic body, so it isn't as substantial as some of their higher end lenses, but it's a good lens to fill the gap between my 18-55mm kit lens and my 10.5mm Fisheye, and it's not as expensive as the $800 Fisheye. Definitely a good addition to your quiver of lenses.

Been looking for a decent wide angle lens for my D5500 at a reasonable price. Was considering this, the Tamron, and the Tokina. I'd say the latter two make for better and sharper photos, but for the price and the compact build the Nikon offers, I settled for this one.
