I bought this lens together with a Nikon D7100 after reading a lot of reviews online. It was an excellent choice! The lens is perfectly balanced on the D7100 and very sharp corner to corner. Some reviews complained about distortion but also mentioned that Nikon had no upgraded firmware to adjust the distortion in the camera. They now have..it is L 2.005 for Nikon D1000 ( you first have to upgrade the cameras firmware to version 1.002). This firmware works absolutely great..no barrel distortion can be noticed on wide angle and no pincushion on the tele side. The zoom is equal to 28-210 mm on a full frame camera which is more than enough for my purpose. The sharpness is more than adequate for an experienced amateur like me. Most people never print pictures more than poster size and the sharpness is absolutely fantastic. I strongly recommend this lens!

I purchased this lens before my trip to Israel. I knew I would possibly not have enough time to change lenses during some quick tours and did not want to miss a photo opportunity. I love this lens. My traveling partners also love my new lens. Worth every penny. Great even for beginners like myself.

    18-140mm zoom lens

The Nikon - AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Zoom Lens is a kit lens that came with the Nikon D7100 that I purchased. It is a great starter lens that takes very nice photographs. After using this lens for a while I found myself wanting more reach out of a lens and bought the 18-200mm lens as a sort of do it all general purpose/travel lens. One thing I find better about the 18-140mm lens however is the ability to do more macro style photos as you can get as close as about 1 ½ feet from your subject and zoom in from there. This lens is of course smaller and lighter as well which might be of significance if you want to travel "light". This lens takes great pictures in most situations but it is not a "fast" lens so you will not get the best images in low light if you have to really crank up your ISO. This is a sturdy, affordable lens with a metal mount and is great for shooting family events and works well as a travel lens. You will get a good range of focal lengths and great picture quality in a relatively small and lightweight package. Attached are a couple of images taken in a local park at dusk. Shadows have been adjusted but no adjustments have been made to the color.

This is the kit lens that was offered with the D7100 at the time I purchased it from Best Buy. I looked at the prices on the Nikon website to compare and Best Buy was in line with Nikon pricing. I got a great deal when I purchased my camera and got this lens for almost nothing. It doesn't get any better than that as the lenses hold their value better than the camera bodies do. This is a great lens that produces great looking images but I already find myself wanting more zoom in some situations. I also agree with the other reviewers who have said it is kind of slow. I will definitely be looking at faster lenses when I am ready to branch out and purchase additional lenses. I want to use this one for a while so I can be sure where I want to go from here.

Works great w/ Z50, FTZ Adapter

This is a solid walk-around / vacation lens. It works wonderfully on my Z50 with the FTZ Adapter. It is solid, and has ZERO lens creep, which is important for a lens you're trotting around with all day long, or any lens for that matter. The pictures are super sharp. It does perform better in good light, rather than in low light, but that's to be expected for any variable aperture lens like this one. The only complaint I have is that it didn't come with a lens hood, and for $499, they should include a $12 piece of plastic to make it complete. That being said, I cannot complain. I am hoping it goes on sale soon, so I can get a credit...because I am not a fan of paying retail for anything. But am I happy? Yes, I am...

I've been using this lens for about a month now on a DX mount and it has been a good lens for the price. It allows me to shoot subjects fairly close and at a medium distance. I'm still learning, but it seems to focus fairly quickly and has been very good for my amateur needs.

A really great walk around lens with excellent IQ. The range it covers (27MM to 210MM} fits perfectly for my usual demands and allows me to carry only this lens when traveling or at home.

I bought the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140 mm for my Nikon D7500 camera. It has VR which means that It has Vibration reduction zoom lens. If you are a novice / casual photographer and getting a DSLR camera for the first time - this lens is a perfect starter lens that you can get for your camera. It as has excellent macro and zoom settings to compliment your everyday shots. You won't need anything else (except maybe for some filters) than this lens to start taking some incredible shots.

This is a great all purpose lens for Nikon DSLR's. The versatility of the lens prevents the need for frequent lens changes. The lens can be used for all the usual family event pictures as well as for relative close ups of nature and pets. In addition the lens offers flexibility in framing distant landscapes to include the most desirable components. All these features in one lens increases the potential that you have the optimal lens on the camera when the perfect picture presents itself.

I bought this as a bundle with the D7200. It is a pretty capable zoom lens, it has vibration reduction, auto-focus, and most importantly it delivers sharp pictures! I haven't fully explored the capabilities of this lens, but I did look up reviews online to see how it compares to lens of a similar quality, and Nikon lenses in general rate very highly. You can't go wrong especially if you buy it as a kit.

Purchased for my Nikon D850 and I love it. Shots come out clear and sharp. The VR works great and ill Never buy another lease that does not have VR. before using this I had a hard time getting clear pictures, even with a $3000 camera body. The zoom works great. Ive taken great long exposure night and day images with this and I absolutely love!

This lens is fantastic. After only using the stock lens (that came with my Nikon when I bought it) for so long, it was time for an upgrade and this was definitely it! It had all the range of my stock lens PLUS more. Very easy attachment process and it said what size lens filter to get right on the box.
