I bought this lens for a D7500. I thought that the 18-55mm lens that my old camera came with was enough to take great pictures with this camera. But I learned the hard way that I had to get another one that is best suited for the D7500. I finally chose this lens simply because I don't need too much telephoto and it goes wide enough for special occasion pictures.

This is one of my best Lens purchases. It takes clear pictures. I use it on my Nikon D5300. In a recent trip it is the only Lens I used for both some Landscape Scenes and Family Portraits.Full Disclosure: I consider myself a Photography Hobbyist and cannot access whether this would be good for someone who is a Professional Photographer.

Good Lens to Pair with the D-500

Paired nicely with the D-7200 but also with the new D-500. VR is a plus. Was thinking of the 18-60mm VR that comes with the D-500 kit but opted for the longer 140mm. Still testing it out for final verdict.

Bought this to replace a lense that was dropped and broken that was on a D80:( Great opportunity to upgrade in the meantime since the other one didn't have VR. You can tell the difference in quality of pictures when shooting pictures thru a Nikon compared to something else. Adding the VR we didn't have before just makes it that much better. Great all around lense with a bit wider view for the closer ups as well.

Originally got this with the Nikon D7500, but while I was taking awhile to get used to my new camera I had used this with my D3500 and I have to say it did help me get some nicer pictures on top of it havingthe perfect amount of zoom for everyday photography. It lets you go from the usual close distance to a decent zoom to get everything you try to snap at.

You cannot beat this for the quality of pictures and ease of use . The weight could be a problem...but hey, look at the elements that make up this great lens . Everyday use , special purpose....it will take it all in one go. I own the 18 - 200 as well, but I think I like this much more....get this !

This lens is great, when you look through the camera view finder this lens looks just like you were looking at your subjects with just your eyes. Great when at 18mm to take family group photos, This lens reminds me of a lens that I look through that cost $6000.00, buy this lens and you will be happy.

definitely buy this lens as apposed to buying the 18-55 and 55-200 f4 in a kit. this one has a little less zoom but takes better pictures than the 55-200 and you do not have to have a second lens with you at all times plus you dont have to constantly switch the lens. the lens is definitely worth the price but if you can afford to spend more take the next step up.

Amazing lens for the money. A slightly lower f stop then other lens. And wonderful range for its size. A must have in your bag. One and only downfall. Is if you are using built in flash. You may get shadow of the lens across the bottom if you're around the 18mm range. But I believe it goes away if you use a hotshoe flash on top. I don't use the built in flash. But I did notice when playing.

This is a step above a kit lens and adds a great range for me while not having to change out lenses for distance and wide shots as much. I like this for a general shot lens and for taking everyday images. It lightens my kit up a bit for hikes and walking around town.

18-140mm as the config suggests, its a perfect blend for near by and far enough pictures. It kind of makes up for 2 kit lens you would see elsewhere. But this does its job. As a beginner, I have no complaints with this lens... I am sure true pros might have different opinion. I opted this over 2 kit lens when I bought my D7200. As a learner, I recommend this lens.

This lens came in a kit with the D7100 camera body and I love it. The lens allows me to zoom in on subjects and capture more natural gestures as opposed to having to be close and receive forced photo smiles from my kids- it definately adds a more professional feel to the images I am now taking.
