My wife has gotten more into photography with our children being so active. However, her understanding of shutter-speeds, etc...isn't there, so we needed an automatic zoom lens that would take any of the guess-work out of it. We tried 3 different lenses and this is the one that finally made it simple enough to get high definition pics without having to do a lot of guessing with settings, etc....

I really like this lens! It is an all in one. I don't change lenses as much now. I do change for my prime lenses. I have been very impressed with it so far. It is great for Cades Cove in the Great Smokey Mountains!

Read a lot of the reviews before I bought the lens. Was concerned about the soft focus. I have not seen that issue at all. Every picture I have taken has been sharp. This a very versatile lens. It is extremely easy to compose a picture with. I thought it might be too heavy but it is well balanced and the weight is not an issue. Only minor complete is it does not come with a lens shade and the filter size is nothing that I already had.

This lens gives you the ability to do so much with only one lens. No changing lenses to get from 18mm to 300mm it's all there. The pictures are fantastic at all ranges. Paired with the d7200 it allows you to get a little closer with some settings.

Love the range of zoom in one lense. Lighter than the older 200 mm model and takes great pics. Perfect travel mate.

This lens covers 18 MM to 300 MM fabulously! Always love Nikon/NIKKOR lenses! Not much heavier than either of my other single lenses, 18 to 55 mm or 55 to 200 mm!!

Finally made the decision to purchase this lens, after looking at it for quite awhile. It's a very nice lens, smaller and lighter than my older telephoto. Works well, focuses at near and distance better than other lenses I've used. Pictures are clear without distortion.

My husband has talked about owning this lens for some time now so he wouldn't have to keep switching out lens to utilize the correct settings for what he was trying to capture. I bought it for him for Christmas and he couldn't be happier. He said it is a great lens with a very versatile zoom. Would highly recommend for quality and ease of use.

Nice image quality and stabilization for a compact zoom. I used this lens on an African safari and captured some great photos hand-held at a full 300 mm zoom. Other reviews suggested this lens has a tendency to suck in dust, but I have had no issues with it during or after using it for a couple of weeks in a very dusty environment.

Bought this lense as a birthday gift. My son has used it multiple times and it has a fast focus, and provides very crisp photos. He uses it with a Nikon D3300 and so far it has performed flawlessly. Build quality is excellent. This one lense has a nice broad range and travels well.

If you don't want to carry multiple lens, and shooting in low light is not necessary, this is a very good lens; You will need a tripod for long shots, though, as there are a few caveats: a) camera shake on long shorts (not the lens's fault), b) a slight back-focus problem (I've tried other copies of this lens as well as others, and they were pretty much the same - the high zoom ration is responsible), and c) it is a bit slow (max: f/6.3). The faster f/5.6 lens is $300 more, and not worth it in my view.

if you're looking to upgrade from the hefty and annoying flipping of lenses from the 18-55 and 55-200 mm then this is the lens for you. i've researched between the older 18-300mm lens and this one. this one weighs less but you get 3.5-6.3 instead od of 3.5-5.6. the 5.6 to 6.3 loss outweighs the weight and hassle of many lenses.

I love my digital slr but hate having to bring multiple lenses to get the pictures I want. This gives me the entire span for close ups and far away. Not too heavy. Makes even my basic older body camera take amazing pictures.

Much better than kit lens on my Nikon D3300. I needed good ultrazoom but at the same time to be able to shoot close pictures. Changing lenses every time you want to make a picture is annoying. This lens provide very crisp picture. It is a little heavy, but not that bad

Wanted something to replace my two kit lenses and wanted one with enough zoom to keep from having to change lenses while traveling. This seems to be doing the trick. I'm out of practice, so getting sharp, stable focus was a bit of an effort at first, but that came around nicely.
