Getting rid of two lenses for this one broad range zoom is a big win for me. I no longer shoot professionally so no longer need a case full of prime lenses. This lens, a super-wide zoom, and a super-telephoto zoom and I am ready for anything. Image quality is there for what I need.

I already had Nikon 18-140 and 70-300 lenses, but I brought my D5500 Nikon body into my local BB to try out the AF-S Dx 18-300 F/3.5-6.3g Vr just to see if the cost would justify itself, as all the reviews I read everywhere suggested. Obviously, they did, and since then, the lens hasn't left my body and I sold the other two. I'm not a professional photographer. I'm a traveler who loves to record and photograph what I see and experience, and that means that I may see something close up, or far away, within the same minute, and I haven't the time or desire to change lenses. This 18-300 has changed my photographing life and made it so much easier, and lighter. I recently had a job covering a rocket launch and was able to capture wide-angle views to include the crowd and in less than one second later, capture close-up views of the gimbaling rocket exhaust. Yes, I'm educated enough to know that one item cannot be perfect to fit every extreme, but this lens is so small, compact, fast, and responsive in focus that I've stopped the infinite quest for "another lens."

This lens does it all. You never have to switch between wide angle and zoom. Never miss a great shot

Excellent range (18-300), light weight, good glass, fast. Note that it does not come with a lens hood. If you buy one separately, note that there are two different 18-300 models with different diameters. This lens takes the HB-39 and not the HB-58 hood.

I have been looking at this lens for a long time, and was here on vacation with my friend who is a photographer and was amassed at the price, hundreds of dollars less expensive for such a excellent lens and could not pass it up

Purchased for use on my new Nikon D500 and was not disappointed.Some distortion but not really bad.I think it is an excellent walk around lens for the amazing new Nikon D500

This zoom lens is incredible. The range it covers is all you will ever need. It is not Big and bulky and extremely easy to use. The autofocus feature is incredible. Highly recommend this extremely professional versatile lens.

This is a great lens. Just make sure you lock it in place. It did not come with a lens cover.

With this one lens, I can take almost any pictures without ever fumbling around and changing lenses. Has great wide and zoom capabilities.

If you dont want to change lenses all day long and travel light then this is the lens for you. Do not expect pro quality photos from this f3.5 to 6.3 lens. You will however get great range and great photos all day long with a light and easy lens to use. If you want to do portrait or landscape, I suggest you purchase a specific lens in addition to this. This is much better than the kit lens that comes with the Nikon cameras. 18 to 300 is a huge range with flexibility that is unmatched. I love it.Yes I recommend it.

It easy to take on and off the camera to exchange lenses. The clarity of the pictures using this lens is impressive. It’s a must have if you take pictures of outdoor sports.

This Nikon Af-s Dx Nikkor 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3g Ed Vr Telephoto Zoom Lens works great on my D7100. It has good reach while keeping good clear pictures. It is a great walk around lens for your DX camera.
